'Ministry of Social Cohesion'? German MPs want to CHANGE CONSTITUTION to grant special protections for minorities

Germany should fight all forms of discrimination by amending its basic laws to provide guarantees to minorities and create a special "social cohesion" ministry, a group of MPs said in a manifesto that sparked controversy online.

"All forms of group-related enmity should be outlawed," read the manifesto, which is supported by the German Bundestag Vice President Claudia Roth and other prominent Green MPs and MEPs. Its authors called for the state to be given a special mandate to "protect" the rights of minorities.

The existing German constitution already guarantees equal rights to all people regardless of their gender, origin and other characteristics, but the manifesto's authors say its wording is "problematic and inadequate," and fails to address the difficulties minorities face when trying to get access to education or job opportunities due to supposedly widespread racism and sexism.

UK homeless deaths rise by more than a third in a year, study finds

The Dying Homeless Project reveals nearly 1,000 unhoused people died across the country in 2020.

Deaths among homeless people have risen by more than a third in a year, according to an analysis by a social justice group that found that almost 1,000 unhoused people had died across the UK in 2020.

The Museum of Homelessness (MoH), a community-driven organisation which runs the Dying Homeless Project, called for action to prevent a repeat of such "terrible loss of life". Among cases where a cause of death was confirmed, 36% were related to drug and alcohol use and 15% were suicide.

Update - February 22, 6:39 p.m.: In a follow-up motion, the defense walked back their claim that client Jessica Watkins "met" with Secret Service on January 6. From a new motion:
A better verb would have been "encountered." Ms. Watkins spoke with Secret Service members early in the day when she was coming through the check in point for the VIP area. The point counsel was attempting to make was that she encountered law enforcement, including Secret Service officer on her way to providing security for the rally. She was given directives about things she could and could not do, including directions to leave all tactical gear outside of the VIP area, and she abided by all of those directives. Ms. Watkins does not suggest that she has any direct knowledge that her role as security was sanctioned by anyone other than people involved in organizing the rally. She certainly did not mean to suggest that she was hired by the U.S. Secret Service to perform security.

For her alleged "crimes" of "conspiring to attack the US Capitol building on January 6," Jessica Watkins was stripped and left naked in a jail cell for four days with the lights on 24 hours a day.

She is still being held without bond, a clear violation of her 8th Amendment rights.


The abuse of Jessica Watkins is over the top. Where are all of the civil rights attorneys?

A member of a far-right militia who stormed the US Capitol building has petitioned to be released from jail due to safety concerns relating to her being transgender, according to BuzzFeed News.

Jessica Watkins, an Oath Keeper, charged with conspiring to attack the US Capitol building on January 6, filed for release pending trial on Saturday.

She alleged that she has been "treated harshly" and is at "particular risk in custody" because she is transgender, BuzzFeed News reported.

Watkins also argued that she is no threat to the public, the media outlet said.

The 38-year-old has been held in at least two facilities, including in the Montgomery County Jail in Dayton, Ohio. It is not clear where she is currently being held.

She is asking for the court to release her and instead consider home detention.

In a legal document seen by BuzzFeed, Watkins alleged that she had been mistreated in an Ohio county jail.

She claims that she was stripped naked and left "in a cell with lights on 24 hours a day for 4 days in full view of everyone," according to her attorney.

This was in response to a hunger strike that the Oath Keeper went on in a bid to get treatment for an arm injury, the media outlet reported.
She was treated worse than a Gitmo prisoner.

Harvard scientists claim that slavery reparations could have saved black Americans from dying disproportionately from Covid-19. But their argument harms the very people they set out to protect.

Some of their logic makes sense. Studying the population of Louisiana, one of the US' most segregated states, the scientists found that African-Americans there were more than three times more likely to die of Covid-19 than whites last year, as they tend to live in crowded housing and work in 'frontline' occupations like nursing. They're also more likely to be in prison or jail, where outbreaks can spread rapidly.

Some is woke hokum, like the idea that "structural racism, violently-seized privilege, and continuous trauma from racial terror and dehumanization" have helped the pathogen infect and kill them, and the notion that the target 'R zero' reproduction rate of the virus is somehow "symbolic violence," a piece of mental gymnastics that one clearly needs a Harvard PhD to make sense of.

Dominion Voting Systems followed through with a previous threat on Monday by filing a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell over his claims of election fraud involving the company.

In the lawsuit, Dominion alleges that the self-made millionaire and Trump ally exploited a conspiracy theory that Dominion's voting machines were hacked by foreign agents and Democratic Party officials to rig the election for President Joe Biden in order to "sell more pillows."

"After hitting the jackpot with Donald Trump's endorsement for MyPillow and after a million-dollar bet on Fox News ads had paid out handsome returns, Michael Lindell exploited another chance to boost sales: marketing MyPillow to people who would tune in and attend rallies to hear Lindell tell the 'Big Lie' that Dominion had stolen the 2020 election," the lawsuit alleges.

With all its talk of black-on-white war, YouTube's "hate speech"-filtering AI can't tell the difference between chess players and violent racists. Perhaps leaving robots in charge of the English language isn't such a good idea.

Croatian chess player Antonio Radic, known to his million subscribers as 'Agadmator,' runs the world's most popular chess channel on YouTube. Last summer he found his account suspended due to its "harmful and dangerous" content. Radic, who was in the middle of a show with Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura at the time, was puzzled. He received no explanation for the ban, which was reversed on appeal, but speculated that YouTube's censorship algorithm may have heard him say something like "black goes to B6 instead of C6, white will always be better."

"If that's the case, I'm sure all [all of] my 1,800 videos will be taken down as it's black against white to the death in every video," he told the Sun at the time.

Radic was probably correct. Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University ran more than 600,000 comments on 8,000 chess videos through a hate-speech detection algorithm and found them riddled with racism. However, more than 80 percent of the comments flagged by the algorithm were marked in error, as they contained terms like "black," "white," "attack" and "threat."

Mainstream US media is under fire for publishing an article telling Americans that life won't go back to normal even after they've been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 - and critics argue the message discourages vaccination.

In an AP article from Saturday, which has since been republished by a number of news outlets including NBC New York, medical writer Lauran Neergaard bluntly told readers not to "expect to shed your mask and get back to normal activities right away" after being "fully vaccinated against the coronavirus."

"That's going to be a disappointment, if not a shock, to many people," she added.

The message did not go down well with readers, who warned the outlets that hope-dashing assertions of a quick return to normalcy will only serve to stop Americans from getting the vaccine.

According to new data released today, as of Feb. 12, 15,923 adverse reactions to COVID vaccines, including 929 deaths, have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) since Dec. 14, 2020.

VAERS is the primary mechanism in the U.S. for reporting adverse vaccine reactions. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a determination can be made as to whether the reported adverse event was directly or indirectly caused by the vaccine.

No lockdown Sweden sees COVID deaths plummet quicker than UK

While the media in the UK is asserting lockdown measures caused COVID-19 deaths and cases to plummet, Sweden saw an even greater drop off in deaths despite enforcing comparatively minor restrictions.

This morning, UK broadcaster Sky News declared "Lockdown is working! COVID-19 infection rate plummets in England."
"One of the largest and most authoritative coronavirus surveys has found that infections are quickly falling in England, confirming that lockdown is working to suppress the virus," states the report.
The report claims that vaccines aren't a factor in the reduction in deaths and cases because they are observed across all age groups.

Comment: This is just another great example that lockdowns are ineffective against the virus. Not only that, the lockdowns arguably cause more unnecessary deaths and suffering among people than the virus itself - now and in the future, as the effects play out in time.

Even the Muppets are "offensive" these days.

Anyone who streams "The Muppet Show" on Disney+ will see a declaimer first — warning of "offensive content."

Disney released five seasons of the iconic show for streaming on Friday, allowing viewers to enjoy watching Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and their celebrity guests as part of its $6.99-a-month service.

The disclaimer shown prior to each episode warns viewers that the show features "stereotypes" and "mistreatment of people or cultures."

"This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now," the disclaimer states.

"Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together," the disclaimer says.


Comment: Yeah, as if anyone who isn't completely hystericized by wokism (which is most people) is actually going to sit their kids down and have a converstaion about negative sterotypes as portrayed by the muppets!
