Putin shrugs-off Washington's provocations and 'sticks to business'

Putin
Last week's drone attacks on Russian military bases represent a serious escalation in Washington's proxy war on Russia. One of the attacks involved an airfield that is located less than 200 miles from Moscow. Naturally, the incident rankled Russian President Vladimir Putin who convened an emergency meeting of his Security Council to explore the options for retaliatory strikes. We have no doubt that Russia's Top Brass recommended tit-for-tat missile strikes beyond Ukraine's borders as a form of equal payback. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed and the military stuck with its current strategy of obliterating critical infrastructure in cities across the country. The attacks on Ukraine's fragile electrical grid are the essential preparation for the launching of a widely-anticipated winter offensive. Here's more from an article at the World Socialist Web Site:
Yesterday's drone attack on an airfield in Kursk marks a major escalation in NATO's war against Russia....The location of the attacks and their implementation points once again to the direct involvement of the United States....The bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines...The explosions in Sevastopol's naval harbour on October 29 (and) The November 15 explosions in a Polish farming village that killed two civilians....Every one of these actions reeks of covert US and NATO involvement, each more reckless and potentially dangerous than the last....A pattern is emerging — one in which the US and NATO keep pushing against Russia in order to test how far they can go without provoking a response from the Putin regime....The relentless and reckless escalation of the war by the United States carries with it the risk of the Russian government responding with a major escalation of its own, with potentially catastrophic consequences." China to drop travel tracing as it relaxes 'zero-COVID'

China travel

China will drop a travel tracing requirement as part of an uncertain exit from its strict "zero-COVID" policies that have elicited widespread dissatisfaction.

At midnight on Monday, the smart phone app will cease to function, meaning residents' travels will not be traced and recorded, potentially reducing the likelihood they will be forced into quarantine for visiting pandemic hot spots. China's ruling Communist Party allows no independent parties to conduct verification and such apps have been used in past to suppress travel and free speech. It's part of a package of apps that includes the health code, which has yet to be disabled.

The move follows the government's snap announcement last week that it was ending many of the most draconian measures. That follows three years of lockdowns, travel restrictions and quarantines on those moving between provinces and cities, mandated testing, and requirements that a clean bill of health be shown to access public areas.

China's no-strings-attached partnership is a win-win arrangement for Saudi Arabia

Jinping Saudi Crown Prince
© Saudi Press Agency via APChinese President Xi Jinping is greeted by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman at Al Yamama Palace, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022.
Chinese President Xi Jinping began his 'epoch-making' visit to Saudi Arabia on Thursday, as the Asian economic powerhouse seeks new inroads in the Middle East region amid increasing turmoil between Riyadh and its traditional allies in Washington.

Despite the fact that the Middle Eastern country has long been a theocratic monarchy, new criticism has emerged in the West over Riyadh's spotty human rights record. China, however, is moving in without attendant criticisms that are - while mostly valid - more often than not fraught with boldfaced hypocrisy, given the West's proclivity for unilateral wars of aggression and trampling on its domestic population's civil liberties.

In fact, China's policy of strict non-interference in the affairs of other countries has materialized in the Middle East with remarkable success. While Washington has stoked sectarian disagreements between Sunni and Shia Muslims by drawing the Gulf States and Iran into proxy conflicts, Beijing has pursued fruitful economic cooperation with both sides without protests from either side. China actually penned a historic, 25-year agreement with Saudi Arabia's regional adversary, Iran, earlier this year that will include partnerships in many fields, including trade, economics, and transportation.

Sweden does not intend to provide Ukraine with its state-of-the-art Saab JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets, Defense Minister Pol Jonson said on Sunday. Kiev had previously said that it would like to receive modern aircraft from its Western backers, including Stockholm.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, Aleksey Reznikov, in Odessa, Jonson was asked to comment on whether Gripen jets could be used by Kiev in its conflict with Moscow.

"There are no imminent plans for sending Gripen to Ukraine. I want to be clear on that, but I think it's a very good plane," he said, reminding everyone that several EU countries were operating this type of aircraft.

A tweet this weekend from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recognizing Human Rights Day has garnered significantly more replies than it has retweets or likes.

Trudeau tweeted on Saturday, "Defending human rights has always been - and will continue to be - one of our top priorities. And we'll keep working to make sure everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are or where they live." He added a link to an official statement where he elaborated more on Human Rights Day.

Federal court affirms Biden admin can't force doctors to perform gender mutilation surgeries

The Religious Sisters of Mercy, the Catholic Benefits Association, and other Catholic entities had sued in the face of the Biden administration's threat of 'multimillion-dollar penalties' for alleged 'discrimination' on the basis of 'sex.'

A federal court ruled Friday that doctors and hospitals cannot be forced to perform gender mutilating surgeries, echoing a similar recent court ruling in a striking win for religious freedom.

The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Catholic groups' free exercise of religion in refusing to perform or insure so-called "gender transition" procedures, citing a prior district court ruling in the same case which found that "intrusion upon the Catholic Plaintiffs' exercise of religion is sufficient to show irreparable harm."

New poll finds Covid vaccines are not safe - estimated 12 million Americans report major side-effects

Covid-19 mRNA vaccine
Major polling company Rasmussen polled the American people with a simple four question survey and found that my polls were accurate and so were the V-safe data and so was the Israeli Ministry of Health safety report that nobody wants to see.

The Rasmussen poll of 1,000 Americans found that:
  1. 32% were not vaccinated.
  2. 7% of those surveyed had a major side effect.
A 7% major side effect rate is unprecedented. We know from the V-safe data that this effectively means that the side-effect was so bad, they had to seek medical attention. If any drug had that kind of safety profile, it would be immediately pulled from the market. Would you take any drug with that kind of side-effect profile? Of course not. It's off the charts! However, because we are told it is a safe and effective vaccine, people do what they are told despite the lack of safety. That's how science works.

Note that people who were killed by the vaccine were unable to participate in the survey, so the actual numbers are slightly worse.

Zelensky was ready for neutrality - Pentagon ex-adviser

Vladimir Zelensky

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was ready in March to meet some of Moscow's conditions for peace, retired US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor has claimed in a recent interview. He blamed former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for preventing a settlement.

As Ukrainian and Russian delegations sat down in Istanbul in March, news surfaced of a potential deal that would have seen Kiev renounce its ambition to join NATO and agree to neutrality, in exchange for Russia's withdrawal to pre-February battle lines. Days later, Zelensky said he had discovered evidence of war crimes in territory evacuated by Russian forces, and negotiations were called off.

In an interview with military historian Michael Vlahos, published on Saturday, MacGregor claimed that the UK was responsible for the abrupt end of the peace talks.

"We have evidence that towards the end of March, Mr. Zelensky said 'well, we could live with neutrality,' and when that word reached Washington and London, people became incensed," he said.

Comment: Zelensky was forced into staying the course of fighting an unwinnable war by his masters. Everyone who's paying attention knows it's an unwinnable war and that Ukraine is being sacrificed. But the obvious question no one is allowed to ask is, to what end?

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Twitter Files Expose Feds, German 'Royalist Coup Plot' & Russian 'Lord of War' Exchanged

Comment: UPDATE September 1st 2024

Nearly two years later, YouTube has censored this podcast because it apparently contains:
"Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites acts of violence through harmful conspiracy theories which have been linked to direct threats or violent acts isn't allowed on YouTube."
We haven't a clue what exactly infringed their all-encompassing 'guidelines' because they never tell us what alarmed them - YEARS LATER - about anything said or implied in the relevant podcast!

More 'Twitter Files' published this week confirmed widespread US government and LGBT+ activists' interference in 'managing' social media platforms to 'de-amplify' dissenting voices on secret blacklists. Besides outright censorship through banning, we also learned their 'rationale' for banning Trump, and that shadow-banning is really a thing - you were not imagining it, and everyone in the media and government has spent the last 6 years gaslighting you about it.

Also on this week's NewsReal, Joe and Niall examine the bizarre claims in German media this week about the uncovering of a 'royalist plot to violently overthrow the government'. Thanks only to dawn raids on 130 premises by over 3,000 police officers was democracy this week 'saved' in Germany, which narrowly avoided being taken over by armed, elderly, aristocratic, anti-vaxx, QAnon conspiracy theorists.

No, that's what they actually claimed!

Finally, Viktor Bout has returned to Russia. Why on Earth would the US government release 'the second-most-wanted-man-alive' after Osama Bin Laden - who they labelled the 'Lord of War' and the 'Merchant of Death' - to RUSSIA, in the midst of a conflict against that country of apocalyptic, existential proportions?
