Understanding the Covid odds

If you've been vaccinated and still feel mortally threatened by the virus, please read this.

It's obviously not easy to give up fear of Covid-19, to judge from a recent survey showing that the vaccinated are actually more frightened than the unvaccinated. Another survey found that most Democratic voters are so worried that they want to make it illegal for the unvaccinated to leave home. But before you don another mask or disinfect another surface, before you cheer on politicians and school officials enforcing mandates, consider your odds of a fatal Covid case once you've been vaccinated.

Those odds can be gauged from a study by researchers at the National Institutes of Health, published by the Centers for Disease Control. They tracked more than 1 million vaccinated adults in America over most of last year, including the period when the Delta variant was surging, and classified victims of Covid according to risk factors such as being over 65, being immunosuppressed, or suffering from diabetes or chronic diseases of the heart, kidney, lungs, liver or brain.

If it bleeds, it leads: Elon Musk calls out traditional media outlets for their 'relentless hatestream'

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, known for his prolific tweeting, questioned his 73 million followers about why "traditional" media outlets operate as a "relentless hatestream" before then engaging in discussions with his followers on the topic.

"Why is the "traditional" media such a relentless hatestream? Real question," Musk tweeted on Monday.

This post was quickly followed by another, clarifying the billionaire's position.

"Most news outlets attempt to answer the question: 'What are the worst things happening on Earth today?' It's a big planet! Obviously, some bad things are happening somewhere at any given time, but focusing relentlessly on those does not give an accurate picture of reality," he wrote.

Australia will open its border for fully vaccinated tourists and all visa holders, a decision branded "bittersweet" by those who have missed funerals in recent weeks due to ongoing restrictions.

Scott Morrison on Monday announced the nation would open to all fully vaccinated visa holders, including tourists, on 21 February, almost two years after borders were first closed.

The borders have been progressively opening since November, but some groups including bridging visa holders, some immediate family members and tourists were yet to be allowed exemption-free travel.

Spain talks of treating Covid like flu, drops outside mask mandate, but retains various lockdown restrictions

SPAIN: A man holds up a badge saying 'the health dictatorship is modern Nazism' and a sign calling for the stopping of vaccine passports in Barcelona today
Spain's Health Ministry announced on Monday that it will be scrapping its outdoor mask mandate and increasing capacity at sporting events from Thursday.

In December, Spain's health authorities opted to implement outdoor masking to bring down the unprecedented number of infections being caused by the omicron variant.

The measure triggered a debate among both the public and experts on whether or not outdoor masking was effective.

"We know that transmission of the virus outdoors is as much as 15 or 20 times lower than indoors... of all the possible measures, this one would have had one of the lowest impacts," Spanish epidemiologist Quique Bassat told the Nius newspaper last week.

Comment: Notably in Spain, Madrid's defiance in enforcing many of the lockdown restrictions as ordered by central government has, like Sweden, exposed the contrived coronavirus crisis narrative for the deadly, draconian nonsense that it is.

However, whilst some countries are dropping all the restrictions, others are giving some liberties back, but only to the injected, creating an apartheid society in the process, meanwhile a great many others, like France, Germany, Austria, Canada, and Australia continue to enforce some of the harshest measures, and almost all countries have deigned to retain their grip on the 'emergency powers', despite also admitting that the coronavirus is little more than the flu: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: Canadian PM Flees Freedom Convoy as Washington Seeks War in Europe

Comment: It's no surprise that American universities are promoting and encouraging sexually deviant practices. It's all part of the indoctrination.

Truck drivers and other service providers since Jan. 15 can only enter Canada if they are fully vaccinated. A week later, the U.S. required vaccinations from essential non-resident travelers.

'War?! I want a post office': In a remote Ukrainian border village, more pressing worries than a new Russian invasion

Border guards patrol at a fortified post west of Blahovishchenka
© Marian Kushnir/RadioSvoboda.Org (RFE/RL)Border guards patrol at a fortified post west of Blahovishchenka, a remote Ukrainian village surrounded on three sides by Russia.
Out Svitlana Sukharevska's back door, under the laundry on the line, past the outhouse and the muddy paddock where she used to keep a cow and a couple of chickens, just beyond the tree line about 100 meters away is the country that is threatening her own country, Ukraine.

Russia is the country that surrounds her village on three sides and forbids the locals to swim in the Povna River that marks the border, like she used to do in the summer as a child. It also bars them from fishing in the eddies -- and now forces farmers to drive twice the usual distance to sell their winter wheat, barley, or feed crops.

War doesn't top the list of her worries, though.

Comment: While the ordinary people struggle to survive and to put some food on the table, the psychopathic elites are trying to impose absolute control over every aspect of our lives, and at the same time they are accusing Russia for the terrible destructions and disasters they caused worldwide.

Millions of destroyed lives and billions and billions of wasted dollars just to fulfill their agenda to destroy Russia.
