Spotify CEO Daniel Ek assured employees in a memo that the company will not part ways with podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan amid backlash over his interviews with doctors of alternative views on the COVID-19 vaccine and his previous use of racial slurs.

"While I strongly condemn what Joe has said and I agree with his decision to remove past episodes from our platform, I realize some will want more," Ek said in the message, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "And I want to make one point very clear — I do not believe that silencing Joe is the answer."

"We should have clear lines around content and take action when they are crossed, but canceling voices is a slippery slope. Looking at the issue more broadly, it's critical thinking and open debate that powers real and necessary progress," Ek continued, adding he was "deeply sorry" for what the controversy has done to Spotify's employees.

It's not really about Rogan's language: Spotify censors Kulinski interview about Saudi Arabia and Khashoggi

Comment: Seems as if someone rolled up to The Joe Rogan Experience with a whole laundry list of 'problematic' episodes.

The progressive commenter said his talking about Jamal Khashoggi murder and Yemen war crimes may have caused old episode's removal

Spotify appears to have censored an old episode of the Joe Rogan Experience show over criticism voiced in it against Saudi Arabia, the featured guest has alleged on Monday. Kyle Kulinsky pointed out that the Arab kingdom is a promising new market for the audio streaming company.

Kulinski, who hosts his own Secular Talk show on YouTube, has been invited to Rogan's on several occasions throughout the years. The episode that got axed by Spotify last week was aired in October 2018. Among the contemporary news that he and Rogan discussed live on air was the murder of dissident Saudi columnist Jamal Khashoggi. Many people believed from the start that the hit was ordered by Saudi Arabia's crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman. Riyadh tried and sentenced a group of government operatives, who, the kingdom claimed, had gone rogue before killing the self-exiled Saudi reporter.

Oops: Removing Freedom Convoy protest trucks could be almost 'impossible,' say heavy towing experts

convoi pour la liberté ottawa
Incredibly difficult without co-operation from drivers, say those in the field

Heavy-duty towing experts say it will be difficult or impossible to remove the hundreds of heavy trucks entrenched in Ottawa's downtown — unless the drivers allow it.

Trucks are parked south of a police roadblock on Metcalfe Street on Sunday as a protest against COVID-19 restrictions extends into its second week. Police say there are 500 trucks in the main protest area, and towing experts say they could be incredibly hard to remove. (Justin Tang/The Canadian Press)

A list claiming to show a "right-wing" bias in Joe Rogan's podcast guests is being questioned on its branding of numerous progressives as conservative

As podcaster Joe Rogan faces numerous calls for Spotify to censor or even drop his popular The Joe Rogan Experience podcast for allegedly spreading Covid-19 misinformation, pundits have taken to sharing a graphic purporting to prove Rogan's "right-wing" bias, though the selection of guests labeled as "right-wing" has left many confused.

"Joe Rogan fans often point to his fig-leaf endorsement of Bernie Sanders as proof that Rogan isn't right-wing," pundit Matthew Sheffield tweeted in a thread critical of Rogan. Sheffield then shared a guest list splitting up various Rogan guests as left or ring-wing.

Alternative fundraiser for Freedom Convoy, GiveSendGo, claims 'DDoS & bot' attacks, still raises 1M in just 12 hours

Despite technical issues, GoFundMe competitor GiveSendGo has managed to raise over $1 million in just 12 hours

Christian fundraising website GiveSendGo has blamed "heavy DDoS and bot attacks" for server downtime after starting to raise cash for the Canadian trucker convoy on Friday. The platform began raising funds for the truckers protesting against Covid-19 vaccine passports and mandates on Friday after its better-known competitor GoFundMe froze the Freedom Convoy's account with $7 million in donations.

Popular alternative video platform Rumble has offered technical help to GiveSendGo. "We are hearing, but have not validated, that GiveSendGo is experiencing server issues and a possible denial of service attack," Rumble said in a tweet. "If true, Rumble would be happy to help in anyway we can. We have equipment and engineers on standby, please feel free to reach out."

Comment: The Post Millennial updates:
As detailed by Human Events host Jack Posobiec, donors are contributing large amounts of money to support the movement, with one donating as much as $215,000.

As reported earlier today by The Post Millennial, the truckers garnered well over a million dollars within a single day.

GiveSendGo helped convoy organizers set up a new fundraiser on its platform when GoFundMe moved to take down the campaign that garnered $10 million.

As for GoFundMe's decision Friday to deplatform the Freedom Convoy's multi-million dollar fundraiser, the Big Tech company cited "police reports of violence and other unlawful activity" despite little to no documented evidence involving the largely peaceful demonstration entering its second week of protests.

Street crime has reportedly fallen in downtown Ottawa since the start of the Freedom Convoy protests where the demonstrators have installed themselves.

GoFundMe has since been called out for providing a platform for Antifa extremists while censoring right-wing causes. Gov. Ron DeSantis vowed Saturday he will work with Florida's attorney general to investigate its "deceptive practices."

Video-sharing alternative Rumble is now offering help to GiveSendGo, which is reportedly struggling with server problems due to the massively popular fundraiser. There's also concern GiveSendGo is experiencing a DDoS attack.

Majority of Americans do not approve of gender reassignment for minors - poll

© Marco Bello/ReutersOnly a small percentage believe people under 18 should be legally allowed to get gender reassignment surgery "without any conditions"
A YouGov poll conducted on behalf of RT has found very little support for the idea of gender reassignment surgery before someone turns 18, with only 8% overall believing minors should be legally allowed getting sex reassignment surgery "without any conditions."

Support for surgery, defined as "a surgical procedure relating to facial reconstructive, chest (top), or genital (bottom) surgery," with "some conditions" was higher, at 17%.

Some 38% of respondents rejected the idea of minors getting such surgeries, with no exceptions, while 15% chose "No, but with some exceptions."

Comment: Governments and the mainstream media would have us believe otherwise, with many governments in Europe recently passing through all manner of transgender legislation of late, despite, as in the US, there being little need nor support for it; which begs the question: why are establishmenht pushing for these radical changes? Chair of Trudeau-funded 'anti-hate' network spreads antisemitism hoax to smear Canadian truckers

bernie farber antisemitism hoax
In an apparent effort to smear the truckers, Chair of the "Anti-Hate" Network Bernie Farber has spread disinformation on social media regarding the ongoing Freedom Convoy.

In a Sunday tweet, Farber posted a picture of an antisemitic flyer and said it was "taken by a friend in Ottawa at the Occupation. Apparently in plain sight."

Comment: Note that the tweet has been deleted. Wonder why...

Comment: As stated above, it appears the tweet has since been taken down (no doubt due to the fact that it's been exposed as a lie).

What's proven to be hilarious in the constant attempts at smearing the Freedom Convoy is how ham-fisted and sloppy they are. Anyone with a remote interest in finding out the truth (and not simply looking for excuses to bolster their own preconceived notions) can find all the claims of hate and racism have been thoroughly debunked. They always work from the same playbook making them pathetically predictable.

'A disaster in plain sight': Why San Francisco is doing nothing to curb brutal fentanyl crisis

let's smoke fent grafitti
The San Francisco Chronicle just published a lengthy multimedia report about the most devastating public-health crisis currently afflicting the city. And no, it's not COVID-19. It's the rash of super-potent synthetic opioids like fentanyl that are causing a surge in deaths among the city's vast homeless community, as well as among others.

Nearly 3/4ths of the thousands of drug overdoses that have been reported in the City by the Bay have involved fentanyl; for the last two years, fentanyl has been killing far more people in San Francisco than COVID. It's not even close, really.

In San Francisco, roughly 1,310 people died from drug overdoses in 2020 and 2021. That's more than double the roughly 710 people who have died from the virus in the city since the start of the pandemic.

The fact-checkers who flagged Paul Thacker's British Medical Journal article about a Pfizer subcontractor for Facebook admitted they police narrative, not fact.

In February of 2010, the New York Times released a front page story entitled, "Research Ties Diabetes Drug to Heart Woes." The lede read:
Hundreds of people taking Avandia, a controversial diabetes medicine, needlessly suffer heart attacks and heart failure each month, according to confidential government reports that recommend the drug be removed from the market.
