UK food banks forced to ration products amidst 'unprecedented' influx of people in need, warn PM they're at breaking point

Thousands of food bank volunteers will warn Liz Truss on Monday that they are having to ration provisions, as their services have become "overstretched and exhausted" because of an influx of people needing their help.

In a sign of a continuing cost of living crisis that was building even before the economic crisis that followed the government's mini-budget, a letter signed by more than 3,000 food bank workers will be delivered to Downing Street.

It includes a warning that those who used to donate to food banks are now seeking their help, while some services are facing "breaking point" even as they are braced for increasing demand in the coming months.

Comment: No doubt people's suffering will be leveraged for the benefit of the establishment - such as the introduction of digital IDs or what not - however there will become a point where people lose so much that they realise that they have nothing left to lose and they will join the growing protest movements against those responsible for that suffering: Protests in Athens against soaring cost of living

Ukrainian forces have carried out a strike on Donetsk using the US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launch system, with one missile hitting the city administration building, local authorities claimed on Sunday. Four people were reportedly wounded.

Alexey Kulemzin, the mayor of Donetsk, posted a video on his Telegram account depicting a pile of rubble around what appeared to be the city administration. Another clip uploaded by Kulemzin shows extensive damage to the building, as well as several wrecked and charred cars nearby.

According to the territorial defense of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), four people were wounded during the shelling.

Meanwhile, local authorities told RIA Novosti that they are looking into the strike on the city administration, with one official saying that the shell fragments will be submitted for ballistic examination.

University of Minnesota Medical School's updated Hippocratic Oath could raise compelled speech concerns

Video of a dean leading incoming med students in pledge to "honor Indigenous ways of healing," commit to "anti-racism," and more, suggests oath may be mandatory.
  • Medical schools nationwide are adopting student-written oaths at white coat ceremonies.
  • Many contain highly-politicized statements not all students may agree with.
  • Are you a med student who's been forced to read one of these pledges? We want to hear from you.
Every year, incoming students at many medical schools across the country earn their white coats and pledge to "First, do no harm," in what are known as "white coat ceremonies." But this year, the University of Minnesota Medical School appears to ask its incoming class to pledge allegiance to a controversial set of ideologies crafted by a small subset of students — ideas with which other students may disagree. If mandatory, this practice would violate dissenting students' First Amendment rights.

Comment: The practice of compromised medicine is here already.

Commissioner Mark Rowley pledged to "turnaround" the force in response to a damning report on misconduct within the ranks

Hundreds of London police officers "don't deserve to be a cop" and should be dismissed for misconduct, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley said on Monday in response to a bombshell report which was conducted in the wake of several scandals involving officers. The preliminary review, compiled by independent advisor Baroness Louise Casey, exposed over 1,800 'repeated offenders' within the ranks of the police.

"Based on this report, which clearly says that we have been far too soft, there must be hundreds in the organization I need to get rid of," Scotland Yard's head said in an interview with Sky News.

High school cancels rest of football season due to lack of healthy players

A high school in Kentucky says it is canceling the rest of the football season for its varsity team.

On Tuesday, Bellevue High School Athletic Director Jim Hicks announced that the school made the decision because the team has a limited number of healthy players available.

Hicks said the safety of the players at Bellevue High School is their No. 1 priority.

Comment: This article is amazingly short on information. Why is it that a high school doesn't have enough healthy students to man a football team? They're not even trying to come up with excuses anymore, just letting that elephant in the room sit there, hoping no one brings it up.

Parlement Technologies announced today that it has entered into an agreement in principle to sell Parler, the world's pioneering uncancelable free speech platform, to Ye (formerly known as Kanye West). Ye has become the richest Black man in history through music and apparel and is taking a bold stance against his recent censorship from Big Tech, using his far-reaching talents to further lead the fight to create a truly non-cancelable environment.

"In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves," says Ye.

The proposed acquisition will assure Parler a future role in creating an uncancelable ecosystem where all voices are welcome. Ye can be found on Parler here.

Elon Musk has publicly expressed alarm over his name and profile appearing to have been added to a well-known Ukrainian 'kill list', following controversy and outrage from Kiev over his prior "Russia-Ukraine peace poll" and subsequent threats to cut funding for Starlink satellite internet services deployed in the country.

On Friday, the billionaire SpaceX founder responded directly to a viral tweet by independent journalist Eva Bartlett which claimed "Musk added to Ukraine's Myrotvorets kill list (which includes 327 children!)," in which he asked her "is this list real?"

Comment: The Grayzone did a deep dive into the Ukrainian kill list back when Roger Waters was added to it. And guess what? It's government-sponsored.

Kanye West continues to create outrage.

The outspoken rapper contended in a new interview that George Floyd died of the drug fentanyl, and not from the actions of the Minnesota police officer who was convicted of his murder.

"They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy's knee wasn't even on his neck like that," West claimed on Sunday's episode of the Revolt TV show "Drink Champs."

Comment: And in other Kanye news:
Parlement Technologies, the parent company of the popular social media platform "Parler," published a press release Monday saying it's being acquired by Ye (formerly known as Kanye West).

In a statement, Ye said he's acquiring the social media platform, a favorite among American conservatives, to ensure people "have the right to freely express ourselves."

Parlement Technologies said it entered into "an agreement in principle" to sell Parler to Ye for an unknown amount.

"The proposed acquisition will assure Parler a future role in creating an uncancelable ecosystem where all voices are welcome," the company said.

The press release provides a backlink to Ye's Parler page, though no content has been posted.

"This deal will change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech. Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again. Once again, Ye proves that he is one step ahead of the legacy media narrative. Parlement will be honored to help him achieve his goals," Parlement Technologies CEO George Farmer said.

News of the acquisition comes after Instagram, and now Twitter restricted Ye's accounts after violating both companies' policies. More specifically, Ye responded to the Instagram restrictions with a deleted tweet, writing:
I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE The funny thing is I actually can't be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda
Parler was reinstated by Apple earlier this year and returned to Google's app store last month.

Vice principal lets armed gunman into Ohio school to protect them from police: report

cleveland vice principal
On September 14, four masked teenagers armed with guns arrived at Garret Morgan High School in Cleveland, Ohio and despite 911 dispatcher and school security advising against it "two assistant principals from leadership let the males into the building" to protect them from police arriving on the scene.

Local Fox 8 News reports that one of the vice principals said, "I confirmed the interior doors were locked and instructed the four suspects to come to the vestibule because it was unsafe to be outside because I saw police officers."

The four masked males arrived in three stolen cars in the afternoon and, as local WDTN News reports, the school security officer immediately spotted the suspicious group, alerted both the school and authorities and locked the doors.

Why are student test scores plunging? Look at politicized education

classroom
© Own work Darklanlan
Recent national student test scores showed a massive decline in learning in reading and math. This achievement implosion has several explanations - one is the increasing politicization of classroom instruction, which is reducing rigor and diverting attention from improving students' foundational knowledge and skills.

From 2020 to 2022, reading scores for nine-year-olds on the National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP), often referred to as the nation's report card, registered the largest decline since the 1990s, while math scores declined for the first time ever. These score comparisons were the first nationally representative snapshot of student learning during the pandemic.

While school closures and ineffective distance-learning efforts were important reasons for the slide in test scores, former North Carolina governor Beverly Perdue, who chairs the board responsible for the NAEP, warned, "We can't keep blaming COVID."
