Spotify Has Officially Become The Battleground For Big Tech's Censorship Civil War

Joe Rogan

For many businesses, cancel culture becomes about the economics of protecting themselves. But Spotify needs to ask itself at the end of the day: are they the battleground for something much bigger?

Far be it for me to be sensationalist, but it looks like Spotify has become the official venue where the big tech censorship civil war is about to take place. Or, perhaps where it has already started.

Spotify has been in the news over the past few weeks because it has been home to "controversial" podcast host Joe Rogan. And let me tell you, "controversial" isn't what it used to be.

Nowadays, Rogan is considered "controversial" because he's someone that - <gasp> - allows individuals to speak their opinions and listens to both sides of the story while presenting a spectrum of takes on political and social issues that runs the gamut and may not conform to the mainstream narrative or "the science".

It was only days ago that I wrote about how I thought Rogan would reshape the mainstream media landscape single-handedly and how his "controversial" style of open-minded discussion may benefit both political parties in the upcoming presidential election, should they be wise enough to adopt it.

GOP Doctors Caucus 'infuriated' with Fauci, White House

"We are not going to vaccinate our way" out of the Covid-19 pandemic, Rep. Greg Murphy says!

Murphy, a practicing surgeon, says the GOP Doctors Caucus is "infuriated" with the White House and its chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, for promoting Covid-19 vaccinations too heavily while ignoring potential therapeutic treatments.
"I'm a vice chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus. We are infuriated - infuriated - that this has all been about vaccination. Fauci has been, 'Vaccination, vaccination, vaccination,' rather than therapeutics."
Murphy told Breitbart News on Friday that he believes there is no way for the US to "vaccinate our way" out of the pandemic.
"There should be something that we should be able to write and prescribe that's not $800 a pill for people who test positive to try to get them better, not only keep them out of the hospital, but get them better, get them back to work, and let society function, I think this is a major problem."
He suggested drugs like ivermectin - most famously taken by podcaster Joe Rogan when he tested positive for Covid - should be studied to find alternate treatments to Covid to avoid continuous vaccines and subsequent booster shots.

Teen rapper accused of shooting NYPD officer released on bond

16-year-old rapper Camrin Williams was released back onto the streets Thursday, freed on bond, after he was charged with the shooting of an NYPD officer.

Williams, also known by the rapper name "C Blu," posted $250,000 bond and walked free from a Brooklyn juvenile detention facility where he was held on gun and assault charges for the shooting of a 27-year-old cop in Belmont.

The teen's release has police officers and many others up in arms.

According to Fox News, Williams had previously been arrested in 2020 for a gun possession charge, and was out on probation in the case, which appears to be a common theme in shootings of law enforcement officers across America.

Wiliams reportedly planned to use an advance on his contract with Interscope Records to post $15,000 in cash to secure the bond, according to Fox News.

NHS officials 'took £70,000 bribes from drugs companies to recommend their medicines to GPs'

Dr David Turner, of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, is charged with five counts of bribery
NHS officials took £70,000 bribes from drug companies to recommend their medicines to GPs, a court was told.

Medicine boss Paul Jerram and Dr David Turner allegedly acted as 'paid influencers' for pharmaceutical companies by promoting prescription drugs to doctors in exchange for 'secret' payments.

Jurors were told the NHS officials - compared to referees in the 'pocket' of a football team - were paid by businessman Noel Staunton, whose consultancy firm represented pharmaceutical companies.

Comment: This is just the criminality that we know about, and mostly because these are small fry, because the more influential people either get away with it because what they're doing is 'technically legal', or because of their positions even though what they're doing is egregiously illegal no one dare touch them: Back in December 2020, UK MP Dan Carden gave an overview of just some of the dodgy deals MPs had taken advantage of thanks to the government fomented hysteria and lockdowns. One wonders just what other dodgy deals MPs and their cohorts got up to in the 13 more months of rolling lockdowns that followed. China jails nearly 50 executives for rigging air pollution data

China will jail forty-seven steel company officials for faking air pollution data, in a sign that Beijing's crackdown on firms that are flouting environmental rules is intensifying.

The officials who worked at four mills in Tangshan city near Beijing, China's top steelmaking hub, were give prison sentences from six to eighteen months, the municipal government said in a statement on its WeChat channel that cited court documents.

The sentences underscore Beijing's push to clean up a major source of air pollution. Authorities have ramped up environmental controls on the steel industry over the past decade in a bid to reduce bouts of dirty air. The goal is to have more than 530 million tons of capacity in the "ultra-low emissions" category by 2025.

Comment: In recent years China has repeatedly delivered equitable sentences to everyone from corrupt bankers and government officials, to child murderers, a state of affairs citizens in the 'liberal' decaying West are increasingly denied: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: Why You Should Question Media Reports About China 'Causing Covid' And 'Invading Taiwan'

China quietly locks down 1.2 million people in area near Beijing over 'handful of cases' as Olympic date nears

Chinese authorities locked down an area neighbouring Beijing this week following a handful of reported coronavirus cases but made no public announcements about the fresh restrictions with just a week until the Winter Olympics.

About 1.2 million people in Xiong'an New Area — a new economic zone 100 kilometres southwest of China's capital — are no longer allowed to enter or leave their residential compounds, local virus prevention staff confirmed to AFP on Friday.

While recent lockdowns in China are publicly announced and widely reported by state media, the Xiong'an restrictions appear to have been introduced without notice — sparking confusion among some residents of the area.

Comment: In some ways, China has taken a more measured approach to the coronavirus - it created 'traditional' vaccines, hasn't imposed mandates, and it is only counting cases of those suffering symptoms - however it has been extreme and relentless with its lockdowns:
