Woke Waterloo at Netflix?

Netflix
© Manuel Romano/NurPhoto via Getty Images
With targeted staff cuts, new corporate ethos, streamer takes stand for creative independence against identitarian conformity.

Dave Chappelle's 2021 Netflix stand-up special "The Closer" sparked protests from the streamer's own employees over allegedly anti-trans jokes.

Now, the platform is drawing an unmistakable line in the sand, proclaiming a corporate culture that prizes individual creative freedom above the collective ideological discipline enforced by cancel culture.

Comment: Netflix should be making content people want to watch, not trying to shape the values of their audience through their content. If they're moving from the latter towards the former, more power to them, regardless of their motivation for doing so.

What we learned from hating the unvaccinated

the thinker
The battlefield is still warm, following Canada's war on the unvaccinated. The mandates have let up, and both sides stumble back into something that looks like the old normal — except that there is a fresh and present injury done to the people we tried to break. And no one wants to talk about it.

Only weeks ago, it was the admitted goal of our own leaders to make life unlivable for the unvaccinated. And as a deputized collective, we force-multiplied that pain, taking the fight into our families, friendships, and workplaces. Today, we face the hard truth that none of it was justified — and, in doing that, uncover a precious lesson.

It was a quick slide from righteousness to cruelty, and however much we might blame our leaders for the push, we're accountable for stepping into the trap despite better judgement.

Comment: Well, at least some of the sheep seem to be waking up. Better late than never.

Bill Maher monologue slamming LGBTQ supporters for 'experimenting on children' with hormone blockers and gender reassignment surgery

bill maher trans gay pride
Bill Maher accused kids of coming out as trans is because it's 'trendy' and because being gay 'is not hip enough', on Friday's Real Time.

Maher, 66, who often draws the ire of both conservatives and liberals on his long-running show, largely went after the transgender part of that acronym in his editorial.

He began by noting the polls show the number of Americans identifying as LGBTQ has doubled with each passing generation, joking that 'if we follow this trajectory, we will all be gay in 2054.'

Comment: For someone who's blunt common sense delivery often seems to be lacking... common sense, it's good to see Maher bringing these views to the centrist-left audience. There's still a chance that people seeing the ridiculousness that is the woke ideology will reach its tipping point.

"No quick fix" - severe pilot shortage reduces flights, sends ticket prices soaring

pilot
A severe pilot shortage in the US slashed flights just as the travel season ramps up, which will cause ticket prices to skyrocket this summer, according to CNBC.

The origins of the shortage began in the early days of the virus pandemic when pilot hiring, training, and licensing came to a stall. Then airlines forced thousands of pilots into early retirement to slash labor costs as travel demand cratered.

Now lawmakers on Capitol Hill are proposing legislation to increase the retirement age for airline pilots from 65 to 67 to extend pilots' flight time as the industry scrambles for solutions.

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby told investors during an earnings call in April that the shortage could last for years.

Washington gas stations run out of gas, one adds extra digit in anticipation of $10 dollar prices

fuel prices 1
Update: In response to queries, Phillips 66 stated:

"The station in question markets a specialty racing fuel that is not a 76® produced or branded product.

Phillips 66 does not determine the price charged at the pump. We ask that Phillips 66®, Conoco® and 76® branded gas station owners and operators exercise good judgement in pricing gasoline and diesel."
Original story follows:

Gas stations across the US are running out of fuel and in anticipation of an increase in gas prices, gas stations in the state of Washington are reportedly reprogramming pumps to include double-digit numbers in "price per gallon" as the current trend could put prices over $10.00.

At the 76 Gas Station in Auburn, Washington located at 1725 Auburn Way North, gas pumps have been reprogrammed to make room for double-digit pricing. In March, they still had single-digit programming.

The coming meat shortage: Are you prepared?

Bill Gates
As the planet braces itself for an engineered, artificial shortage of meat supplies, billionaire vaccine mogul Bill Gates is positioning his GMO synthetic meat products as a readymade solution to the contrived crisis. Will you buy Gates’s faux beef and poultry?
The globalist takeover agenda is nothing if not comprehensive. They're coming at us from every possible angle, and whether we're talking about biosecurity, finance, housing,1 health care, energy, transportation or food, all the changes we're now seeing have one goal, and that is to force compliance with a totalitarian slave system.

In an April 27, 2022, blog post,2 investigative journalist Corey Lynn takes a deep dive into the new food system being put into place, and how it is geared to control you.
"'Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world.' This famous quote by Henry Kissinger is ringing more and more true by the week," Lynn writes.3

"The globalists already control the majority of the money, are moving ever so swiftly to convert the energy system over into systems they are all invested in, and have been taking drastic measures to control the food industry while running much of it under the radar. If they control the seeds they control the food, and if they control the food they can use the digital ID to control consumer access to the food.

While a rash of fires suddenly destroy food processing, meat, and fertilizer plants, during a time where farmers are hurting and supply chain issues are kicking in, an entire traceable food infrastructure system has already been built in multiple cities and is making its way across the globe ...

The USDA and FDA have already approved lab grown meat, genetically modified cattle, and are funding the globalists to research and develop cellular agriculture as well as indoor growers and genetics companies ...

Union Pacific is mandating railroad shipping reductions by 20% impacting CF Industries Holdings, the world's largest fertilizer company. Vanguard, BlackRock and State Street happen to be the top shareholders of Union Pacific, and BlackRock and Vanguard are in the top three shareholders of CF Industries Holdings.

By mapping some of the largest vertical farms, it reveals the crops, grocery stores involved, locations and billions pouring in by globalist investors and shareholders. It quickly becomes evident that this is the global plan to control all produce — ingredients that go into all food products."

With a $40 billion plan, the US is setting itself up for an expensive failure in Ukraine

American democracy in action is as perturbing and frustrating to watch for a US citizen as it is confounding to outsiders. It's become especially true in this age of extreme partisan politics, where legislation is prepared, debated, stalled, passed, or killed through parliamentary procedures and processes that are opaque even to those participating in them. Rare are the moments of bipartisan agreement, when the democratic processes appear to flow seamlessly, allowing critical legislation to be enacted in a timely fashion.

However, when Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pushed through a massive $40 billion appropriations bill for aid to Ukraine, she did so in a single day. The text of the proposed legislation was released in the morning, a 'debate' was held throughout the day (in actuality, little more than a series of speeches by lawmakers on why this legislation was so important), and then a vote was taken that saw the bill approved by a 368-57 margin.

It was then sent on to the Senate, where both the Democrat's majority leader, Chuck Schumer, and the Republican minority leader, Mitch McConnell, were ready to similarly chaperone the legislation through their chamber and onto the desk of President Joe Biden, who had indicated he would sign it immediately.

Then something happened that speaks to the wisdom of the Founding Fathers when they crafted the bi-cameral makeup of the US Congress. James Madison, one of the major architects of the US Constitution, had envisioned that the US Senate would function, by design, as a deliberative body, serving as a check on the potential of the House to succumb to the passions of populism.

The first overseas shipment of baby formula is due to arrive in the US this weekend, the White House announced Friday, as the government scrambles to fill barren store shelves across the US amid a national shortage.

"Operation Fly Formula" will send 132 pallets of Nestlé Health Science Alfamino Infant and Alfamino Junior formula to Indiana from an airbase in Germany this weekend.

Another 114 pallets of Gerber Good Start Extensive HA formula are expected to arrive within the coming days, according to officials.

Comment: Mothers who are suffering due to the infant formula shortage should look into Nourishing Traditions recipes for homemade formula. It's significantly healthier than the processed stuff anyway.
