US authorizes first Covid vaccines for infants and preschoolers

fda covid vaccine
US regulators on Friday authorized the first Covid-19 shots for infants and preschoolers, paving the way for vaccinations to begin next week.

The Food and Drug Administration's action follows its advisory panel's unanimous recommendation for the shots from Moderna and Pfizer.

Comment: So the only authorized vaccines are of the mRNA variety.

That means US children under five - roughly 18 million youngsters - are eligible for the shots, about 1.5 years after the vaccines first became available in the US for adults, who have been hit the hardest during the pandemic.

The FDA also authorized Moderna's vaccine for school-aged children and teens. Pfizer's shots had previously been the only ones available for those ages.

Eat Bugs: World's largest cricket farm finishes construction in London, Ontario

The massive facility will employ just 60 workers and will rely mostly on artificial intelligence, technology that won the developers awards from the United Nations for commitment to Sustainable Development Goals.

Ontario Cricket Farm
Canada is now home to the world's largest cricket farm, as construction firm EllisDon announced on Twitter that development at Aspire Food Group's new plant in London, Ontario was finished.

The massive facility run by Aspire, which the CBC describes as "a global industry leader in the production of edible insects," will generate 9,000 metric tons of crickets that can be consumed by humans and pets, Canadian Manufacturing reported.

Comment: This seems to be the future, is it what they think of us all now? Traditional food is being burned down, canceled and exterminated or, the supply lines are just being artificially manipulated and broken.

Let let them eat bugs.

Funding all via the Federal government's "Innovation Supercluster Initiative."

Multiple large food processing & distribution plants in US have recently exploded or burned down

Woke Hawaii teacher busted for grooming 13-year-old, sexually assaulting him on video

alden bunag tweets
A teacher from Hawaii admitted to recording himself having sex with a 13-year-old student and sharing the footage, along with hundreds of other images and videos depicting child pornography.

Alden Bunag first appeared in court on Thursday in Honolulu, and remains in custody.

Bunag admitted that he had been sharing child pornography with a teacher in Philadelphia, according to KHON. He and the other teacher, who was arrested in October, exchanged more than 3,300 messages, hundreds of which contained images and videos of child pornography.

Comment: It would be interesting to see how many of these woke warriors are actually criminal sexual deviants on the side. Given the number who are getting caught, there's likely a high level of correlation.

Colbert Show producers arrested by US Capitol Police, charged with unlawful entry

colbert capitol police
Nine of Stephen Colbert's staffers were arrested by Capitol Police on Thursday night after allegedly illegally entering a building where US House of Representatives work.

They were subsequently charged with illegal entry to House office buildings after hours.

As FOX News reports, the group entered the building after it shut its doors to visitors, and proceeded to take pictures and videos near the offices of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Lauren Boebert.

Comment: More from New York Post:
A camera crew for Stephen Colbert's "Late Show" was given unlawful access to the Congressional offices by longtime California Democrat Adam Schiff, House Republicans claim.

"Adam Schiff's cronies snuck in Stephen Colbert's staff to the US Capitol and facilitated unauthorized reconnaissance tours of GOP offices," said an official account for the House Judiciary Committee Republicans.

"On the 50th anniversary of the Watergate break-in, @RepAdamSchiff's cronies sneak in Stephen Colbert's staffers and provide unauthorized reconnaissance tours of Republican offices throughout Capitol Hill," they added in a follow-up message, which included an embedded Fox News segment on the arrests by host Jesse Watters.

The Colbert crew, which included Late Show staffers Jake Plunkett, Allison Martinez, Tyrone Dean, Stephen Romond, Nicoletta Green, Brendan Hurley, Robert Smigel, Josh Comers and David Feldman, were busted by US Capitol Police around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Longworth House Office Building.

...

Some conservatives online were quick to draw comparisons to the Jan. 6 riot itself. Fox News host Tucker Carlson noted many of those who stormed the Capitol that day had themselves been charged with unlawful entry, and are now facing serious jail time.

"Stephen Colbert's producers just committed insurrection at the US Capitol," he said.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) asked, "Why was @StephenAtHome's staff breaking federal law and at my office last night?"

"Was this an illegal reconnaissance tour or a full-on insurrection? Did they go in? Did Stephen fund this? Is he being charged? I'm demanding answers," she said.

This week in totalitarianism: France bans gatherings "due to heatwave" as Germany mulls annual mask mandate, China uses Covid app to target protestors

1984 big brother
Sceptical blogger Eugyppius has spotted the creeping normalisation of draconian Covid measures to address other 'public health' issues.

The BBC reports that outdoor public events have been banned in an area of France - because of the heat, I kid you not.
Outdoor public events have been banned in an area of France as a record breaking heatwave sweeps across Europe.

In Gironde, officials said public events, including some of the official June 18th Resistance celebrations, will be prohibited from Friday at 2pm "until the end of the heat wave". Indoor events at venues without air-conditioning are also banned.

Private celebrations, such as weddings, will still be allowed.

"Everyone now faces a health risk," local official Fabienne Buccio told France Bleu radio.

Comment: The totalitarian creep isn't really creeping anymore - it's at a full sprint!

Mythbusting the social credit system

surveillance cameras

China's social credit system is notorious. This Black Mirror-esque network supposedly gives citizens a score, based on an opaque algorithm that feeds on data from each person's digital and physical lives. With one billion Chinese accessing the Internet and the growing prevalence of facial recognition, it means that their every move can be monitored - from whether they cross the road dangerously, to whether they play too many video games and buy too much junk food. Those with low scores have lower socio-economic status, and may not be able to board planes and trains, or send their children to school. It's all part of a Chinese Communist Party directive to further control and mould its citizens.

Except it's not. Speak to any Chinese person and you'll quickly realise that their lives are not dictated by some score, with their every move monitored and live-feeding to some kind of governmental evaluation of their social worth. In fact, the western narrative of the social credit system has deviated so far from the situation on the ground that Chinese Internet users went viral mocking western reporting on Weibo: '-278 points: Immediate execution'.

Comment: With its strong penchant for China-bashing, it's little wonder western media has gotten the Chinese social credit system so wrong. It would appear that what seems to be in store in the west is much more sinister.

Court rejects Trump-era EPA finding that weed killer safe

A federal appeals court on Friday rejected a Trump administration finding that the active ingredient in the weed killer Roundup does not pose a serious health risk and is "not likely" to cause cancer in humans.

The California-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to reexamine its 2020 finding that glyphosate did not pose a health risk for people exposed to it by any means — on farms, yards or roadsides or as residue left on food crops.

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup, the most widely used herbicide in the world. Pharmaceutical giant Bayer, which acquired the herbicide's original producer Monsanto in 2018, is facing thousands of claims from people who say Roundup exposure caused their cancer.

Roundup will remain available for sale. According to an agency spokesman, EPA officials are reviewing the 54-page ruling "and will decide next steps.″ The Supreme Court is also considering whether to hear an appeal from Bayer that could shut down thousands of lawsuits on the cancer claims.

Writing for a unanimous three-judge panel, Judge Michelle Friedland said EPA's finding of no risk to human health "was not supported by substantial evidence.″ She also ruled that EPA fell short of its obligations under the Endangered Species Act by inadequately examining glyphosate's impact on animal species and vegetation.

The number of Americans who believe in God has dropped to the lowest level in the 78 years Gallup has asked the question, per a poll out Friday.

Driving the news: 81% of U.S. adults say they believe in God — down 6 points from 2017.
  • Belief in God dropped the most among young adults, liberals and Democrats, with these groups showing a drop of 10 or more percentage points compared to an average of polls from 2013 to 2017, Gallup found.
More than 90% of Americans believed in God between 1944 and 2011.
  • Conservatives and married adults experienced little change in beliefs, and other subgroups, including education level and ages, experienced but a modest decline.

"I was failed by the system. I literally lost organs."

When Chloe was 12 years old, she decided she was transgender. At 13, she came out to her parents. That same year, she was put on puberty blockers and prescribed testosterone. At 15, she underwent a double mastectomy. Less than a year later, she realized she'd made a mistake — all by the time she was 16 years old.

Now 17, Chloe is one of a growing cohort called "detransitioners" — those who seek to reverse a gender transition, often after realizing they actually do identify with their biological sex. Tragically, many will struggle for the rest of their lives with the irreversible medical consequences of a decision they made as minors.
