Climate lockdowns? Outdoor events banned in parts of France amidst record breaking heatwave

Outdoor events continued in other areas of France - this man cooled down at a music festival in Clisson
Outdoor public events have been banned in an area of France as a record breaking heatwave sweeps across Europe.

Concerts and large public gatherings have been called off in the Gironde department around Bordeaux.

On Thursday, parts of France hit 40C earlier in the year than ever before, with temperatures expected to peak on Saturday.

Scientists say periods of intense heat are becoming more frequent and longer lasting as a result of global warming.

Comment: Extreme weather events of all kinds are occurring with an increasing frequency, including record breaking low temperature events, and it has nothing to do with 'global warming': Texas cold snap linked to 40 years of increasing snowfall in Arctic & disruptions in stratospheric polar vortex - increase in extreme cold events likely - study

Spain, Italy and the UK are also experiencing high temperatures.

Man faces federal indictment for Justice Kavanuagh assassination attempt

The California man who was arrested outside of the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh faces a federal indictment for attempting to assassinate a justice of the United States.

A federal grand jury issued the indictment on Wednesday against 26-year-old Nicholas John Roske, who does not have an initial court appearance scheduled as of this time.

He faces up to life in prison if convicted, but the Justice Department stressed in a press release that "[a]ctual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties."

The single-count indictment also includes a forfeiture claim, asking Roske to turn over a Glock 17, two magazines, ammunition, a speed loader, tactical gear, and burglary tools.

Roske was arrested outside of Kavanaugh's home early last Wednesday. Court documents show Roske was unhappy with the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion regarding abortion.

Comment: The American sociopolitical stress index is currently at levels unseen since prior to the Civil War, and only seems to be getting worse. It's times like these - when nations approach the end of a secular cycle - when crises destroy nations. Revolution, state collapse, depression... Whatever form the crisis takes, it likely won't be pretty.

Elite NYC private schools are teaching kids that American society must be destroyed

Horace Mann School
© James MesserschmidtHorace Mann School senior Ryan Finlay rightfully called out the school's faculty and curriculum.
Ryan Finlay is a brave young man. A senior at the elite private Horace Mann School, Finlay last week published a pointed but measured essay describing the aggressive political bias that's dominated his education on the Bronx campus, where generations of famous and well-connected New Yorkers, from Jack Kerouac to Eliot Spitzer, have matriculated or sent their children.

Faculty "feel obligated to open students' eyes to the inequality that surrounds them," Finlay explained, but that takes the form of "continuous pressure in the classroom to embrace visions of wholesale societal reform."

The message, hammered relentlessly into students' heads at Horace Mann, is that "the system is broken, unable to be reformed, rotten to the core, and deserving of demolition," he wrote.

The irony of hyper-privileged New Yorkers paying nearly $60,000 a year for their children to learn they are the undeserving beneficiaries of a broken system need not be dwelled upon here. Finlay's essay breaks the self-imposed conspiracy of silence that has largely shielded top private schools from criticism from within.

Ukraine killing civilians in 'unprecedented' shelling on Donetsk ignored by Western media and politicians

Following intense Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk on June 13, some Western media sources, in tandem with outlets in Kiev, unsurprisingly claimed that the attack - which killed at least five civilians and struck a busy maternity hospital - was perpetrated by Russian forces.

Why Moscow would launch rockets at its own allies wasn't explained, nor would it make much sense.

The Donetsk People's Republic's foreign ministry reported: "Such an unprecedented. in terms of power, density and duration of fire, raid on the DPR capital was not recorded during the entire period of the armed conflict [since 2014]. In two hours, almost 300 MLRS rockets and artillery shells were fired."

The Ukrainian shelling began late morning, resumed in the afternoon, and continued for another two hours in the evening, a deafening series of blasts throughout the city, terrorizing residents and targeting apartment buildings, civilian infrastructure, the aforementioned hospital, and industrial buildings.

Florida is the only state to skip preordering Covid-19 vaccines for kids

Florida is the only state in the nation that has not placed an order with the federal government for doses of the Covid-19 vaccine for young children, saying the distribution process is "convoluted."

The Florida Department of Health, through a statement, said Wednesday that it did not place an order with the federal government for vaccine doses for kids five and under in part because it doesn't advise all children get vaccinated. The deadline for placing a pre-order was Tuesday and 49 other states met the cutoff date.

The DOH statement said:
"States do not need to be involved in the convoluted vaccine distribution process, especially when the federal government has a track record of developing inconsistent and unsustainable COVID-19 policies. It is also no surprise we chose not to participate in distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine when the Department does not recommend it for all children."
The department provided a statement to POLITICO just hours after advisers with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration voted unanimously to give emergency authorization for the use of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines on children between the ages of 5 and six-months old. The approval fast tracks the vaccine toward distribution and kids could start receiving shots as soon as Tuesday.

The billionaire family pushing synthetic sex identities (SSI)

The wealthy, powerful, and sometimes very weird Pritzker cousins have set their sights on a new God-like goal: using gender ideology to remake human biology

One of the most powerful yet unremarked-upon drivers of our current wars over definitions of gender is a concerted push by members of one of the richest families in the United States to transition Americans from a dimorphic definition of sex to the broad acceptance and propagation of synthetic sex identities (SSI). Over the past decade, the Pritzkers of Illinois, who helped put Barack Obama in the White House and include among their number former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, current Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and philanthropist Jennifer Pritzker, appear to have used a family philanthropic apparatus to drive an ideology and practice of disembodiment into our medical, legal, cultural, and educational institutions.

I first wrote about the Pritzkers, whose fortune originated in the Hyatt hotel chain, and their philanthropy directed toward normalizing what people call "transgenderism" in 2018. I have since stopped using the word "transgenderism" as it has no clear boundaries, which makes it useless for communication, and have instead opted for the term SSI, which more clearly defines what some of the Pritzkers and their allies are funding — even as it ignores the biological reality of "male" and "female" and "gay" and "straight."

German agency head warns of gas shortages, bankruptcies, and massive price hikes that will send 'shockwaves throughout the country'

Inflation is already taking its toll on the German economy, but next winter is now being described in near apocalyptic terms by one prominent German agency head.

A gas shortage and high prices will send "shockwaves through the country," leading to landlords cutting the heat for tenants and widespread company bankruptcies, warned Klaus Müller, the head of Germany's Federal Network Agency, which is the regulatory office for electricity, gas, telecommunications, postal services, and railway markets.

Müller paints a bleak picture about the crisis in an interview with German newspaper Rheinische Post, saying it will "send shockwaves throughout the country. Banks will ramp up their business with installment loans, and ailing companies will fall into insolvency."

Müller's office, which is a federal agency within the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, has a bird's eye view of the economic situation in Germany and also special insight into how economic conditions will develop into the future.

Müller says he expects gas prices to continue to climb, resulting in increased inflation that goes far beyond energy. He also warns that there will be a dramatic lack of gas in the winter, which could lead to landlords turning down the heat to save on energy. In turn, Germans may have to grapple with colder apartments.

Why George Soros and Francis Fukuyama are 'Putin's useful idiots'

Yoshihiro Francis Fukuyama

The Western establishment's preference for liberal loudmouths rather than genuine Russia experts is a major boon for Moscow.

There is a surprising debate taking place in in the West - they are arguing about French President Emmanuel Macron's call not to humiliate Russia.

The point here is not that the question itself is ridiculous - generally speaking, the West cannot currently humble our country. Because you can only humiliate someone who depends on you (and with whom you have, if not common values, then at least a harmonized system), but nothing like this can be said about relations between Russia and those countries today.

No, the responses to Macron - and Hillary Clinton was the most recent to raise an objection, saying that this stage has already passed - are indicative of the fact that people who object to him live in some parallel universe. They are not even faced with the question of whether it is possible for Russia to win, because they are sure that it will lose, or even that it has already lost, and they only care to what extent it has been defeated, and how much it needs to be hurt.

It's not just politicians who are talking about this, it's also opinion leaders like the American philosopher Francis Fukuyama. His latest interview with Germany's Die Welt is an example of the piling up of such statements.

Ukraine suffering up to 1,000 casualties per day in Donbas, top Ukrainian official admits in his pitch for even more weapons

Up to 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are being killed or wounded each day in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, with 200 to 500 killed on average and many more wounded, a top Ukrainian official said on Wednesday.

The big picture: President Volodymyr Zelensky said on June 1 that 60 to 100 Ukrainian troops were being killed daily as Russia stepped up its Donbas offensive. Over the past two weeks that number has climbed significantly according to David Arakhamia, who leads Ukraine's negotiations with Russia and is one of Zelensky's closest advisers.

Comment: Revealing that, unsurprisingly, Zelensky was lying, so why are they now suddenly admitting the heavy losses?

Elon Musk tipped his hat to Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis on Wednesday as the candidate that he wants to see become the next President of the United States but stopped short of a full endorsement.

Musk made the revelation after tweeting that he had backed the Republican candidate who made history in south Texas on Tuesday night.

"I voted for Mayra Flores - first time I ever voted Republican," Musk tweeted. "Massive red wave in 2022."

When asked online who he was leaning toward supporting for the 2024 presidential election, Musk responded, "DeSantis. I supported Yang last time, but DeSantis has a better chance of winning," Musk later added.
