Bye bye COVID? Remaining restrictions in England will be scrapped on Thursday and free testing to end in April, PM reveals

The legal requirement for people who test positive for coronavirus to self-isolate will be removed from Thursday and free symptomatic and asymptomatic testing will end in England from 1 April, the PM has announced.

Boris Johnson confirmed the move as he unveiled his government's plan for "living with COVID" in the Commons.

The changes will be subject to approval by Parliament.

In an attempt to ensure people do not build up personal stockpiles of free lateral flow tests before the 1 April cut-off, individuals can now only order a box every three days, instead of every 24 hours.

Comment: Currently in European countries, the relaxation of rules only applies to the fully vaccinated (vaccinated within the last 9 months). So as long as Brits stay on their little island, they are fine, if they try to get off, and are not up-to-date with their vaccine schedules, they will likely face the same draconian measures unless Europe follows suit.

Russian parliament grants Putin right to deploy military abroad

After discussing the situation in Donbass, the Senate has authorized the president's request

The upper house of Russia's parliament has granted permission for the country's military to be deployed abroad, following a request on Tuesday from President Vladimir Putin.

The authorization grants Putin the right to use Russian forces abroad "in accordance with the principles and norms of international law," the Senate's resolution, released to the media, shows. The document does not impose any specific limits on the use of the military, with the number of troops, as well as "the areas of their activity, their goals, and length of stay outside Russia" to be decided by the president "in accordance with the Constitution."

Comment: Lavrov backs the Duma up with a statement of his own:
Moscow will act as a guarantor of the security and integrity of the two breakaway Donbass republics in Donetsk and Lugansk, Russia's top diplomat has said, after the Kremlin affirmed their status as sovereign states amid a worsening standoff with Ukraine.

Speaking as part of an appearance on TV channel Russia 24 on Tuesday, Sergey Lavrov stressed that the two regions will be independent, with that status enshrined in pacts inked by President Vladimir Putin and the leaders of the two republics, Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik, the day before.

"Treaties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance have been signed between Russia and these new states, in which we promise to safeguard their security," the foreign minister said. "I think everyone understands that," he added.

His remarks come after Putin signed a decree officially declaring the two territories to be sovereign states. Announcing the move to the nation in a televised address, the Russian leader said that he deemed "it necessary to make a decision that should have been made a long time ago" and to "immediately" recognize both as independent.
Russia can finally provide some of the protection the civilians of Donbass and Lugansk desperately need:

Flashback Russia's non-aggression pact is an offer for Germany to realize the US won't negotiate

The Blin-Needle gang will fight to the last German, then run away

How to stop the US provocations aimed at pushing Russia to go to war in the Ukraine, and at claiming credit for deterring Russian from doing so? Impossible — the US cannot be stopped. But Germany, the country most likely to suffer the direct effects of war in the Ukraine, can stop the American deployment of nuclear-capable weapons on Ukrainian territory.

Will the war start? Silly question — the war won't start because it has already started, and has been in active use-of-force mode since February 2014 when the US overthrew the Kiev government of President Victor Yanukovich; attempted to take Russian bases in Crimea; and followed in July of that year with the plot to down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 and trigger a NATO invasion of the Donbass.

Right now on the Ukraine front, Russia will do nothing new; that's to say, nothing more than it has already done, and is doing. But if and when Germans agree to the Americans deploying nuclear-capable weapons on Ukrainian territory, as they have already done in Romania, Poland, and the Black Sea, then the Stavka in Moscow will do something no western intelligence agency, think-tank, propagandist, and least of all the Japanese mouth organ known as the Financial Times will have anticipated.

"We want to remind you that Russia has never attacked anyone throughout its history." Dmitri Peskov, Kremlin spokesman
"NATO leaders are now engaged in the most blatant and irresponsible destabilisation and hybrid war operation since they used Islamic terrorists to destroy Libya and attempted to use them to break up Syria." Nick Griffin, political analyst and former Member of the European Parliament, Unz Review
Here's your US Foreign Policy quiz for the day: Which of these militant organizations has the United States supported over the years?
  1. Marxist guerillas in East Syria (The YPG, The People's Protection Units, The Syrian Democratic Forces)
  2. Far-right Neo-Nazis in Ukraine (Ukrainian Security Services, Azov Special Operations Detachment)
  3. Islamic extremists in Syria, Libya, Kosovo, Chechnya and Afghanistan. (aka- Al Qaida, Al Nusra etc)
  4. Anti-leftist Death Squads in El Salvador and Nicaragua
  5. All of the above
If you picked "Number 5", then pat yourself on the back. That is the right answer. The US has "armed and trained" all of these disparate groups and still supports many of them today. And the reason Washington supports them, is because they help to advance America's geopolitical agenda. It doesn't matter if the group is on the "right" or the "left". It doesn't matter if they are religious extremists or Godless atheists. What matters is whether they can be turned into an effective fighting force capable of achieving America's strategic objectives. That is the overriding goal.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Why The West is OBSESSED With Provoking Russia, And Why Russia Bites Back

Recorded the day before the Russian government's formal recognition of the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, this NewsReal covers last week's 'false-flag' dramas in the Western media, and explains why the West, particularly the US and UK regimes, are obsessed with Russia, why this obsession has been growing for decades, and why the Putin government has little choice but to ignore Western threats and do what it feels it has to do in or near Ukraine.

This 'moment' when Russia says ENOUGH to Western bullying and 'containment' has been a long time coming. For Ukraine, it stems from the coup d'etat in Kiev - fomented by the West - exactly 8 years ago. For Russia, as Joe and Niall argue, it stems from one of two things (and those may not be mutually exclusive): Putin's ascent to power in 2000, and the Russian people's hard-earned lessons from their bloody 20th century experiences of civil war and tyranny.

Alberta Premier files court challenge against Trudeau and government over 'unjustified' Emergencies Act, 'There is no insurrection or coup'

jason kenney alberta premier
Alberta premier Jason Kenney, has attracted a great deal of media attention by promising a court challenge against the Liberal government's imposition of the Emergencies Act.

Kenney said his province might also intervene in other challenges before the courts.

The Alberta premier has described the Emergencies Act as an "unnecessary and disproportionate measure that can violate civil liberties, invades provincial jurisdiction, and creates a very dangerous precedent for the future".

Comment: A little peak inside the mind of an authoritarian, ret-conning the protests to justify totalitarian measures enforced on the populace. He and Ya'ara Saks are the front line in the justification for the fascist overthrow of the country (very reminiscent of the Democrats response to January 5th). Dark days ahead for Canada.

Whilst the West reels from Russia's recognition of Donbass region, the State Duma gets to work on a treaty with the two republics

Zelensky
© YouTube/Office of the President of UkraineUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expects "clear support" from the West, but noted that there is no reason for panic just yet
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned Russia's decision to recognize two separatist republics in the eastern Donbass region, calling the move a violation of his country's sovereignty.

Comment: Too late. Ukraine's sovereignty was lost back in the US-backed 2014 coup.

Speaking during a televised address on Tuesday morning, Zelensky accused Moscow of undermining diplomatic efforts to resolve fighting with separatists in the Donbass, saying President Vladimir Putin's decision to recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk republics violated agreements negotiated in Minsk.

"Ukraine unequivocally qualifies the recent actions of the Russian Federation as a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state," he said. "All responsibility for the consequences of these decisions rests with Russia's political leadership."

Comment: Ukraine has repeatedly violated the Minsk accord since its inception, that's why Russia has had to intervene to prevent Ukraine from further adding to the death toll of 13,000 people; the vast majority from the two republics.

Unhinged Canadian Liberal MP says 'Honk Honk' is code for 'Heil Hitler', cites Antifa as source

ya'ara saks canada liberal MP
Canadian Liberal MP Ya'ara Saks said that "Honk Honk" is code for "Heil Hitler" while testifying in parliament on Monday in defense of Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act to crack down on Canadian freedom protesters.

"How many guns need to be seized? How much vitriol do we have to see of "Honk Honk" which is a new acronym [sic] of "Heil Hitler"? What do we need to see by these protesters on social media?" Ya'ara Saks said.

Comment: These are the people stamping the fascist boot onto the Canadian populace - a bunch of clueless, reactionary, hysterical NPCs high on their own authoritarian power trip.

CDC only publishing small portion of COVID data collected: report

cdc sign

Several sources told the
Times that the CDC is only publishing "a tiny fraction of the data it has collected."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is publishing only a small fraction of the COVID-19 data it has collected, sources told The New York Times.

The CDC has been collecting and breaking down data on COVID-19 hospitalizations by age, race and vaccination status for more than a year, but most of the information has not been publicized, the Times reported Sunday.

Comment: Whatever their excuse, they don't want the data out there because they're hiding something. It's not difficult to intuit what that 'something' is.

SOTT Focus: Dark Day For Canada: MPs Side With Trudeau, Vote in Favor of Police State

The Canadian House of Commons has authorized an emergency measure to crack down on those protesting against vaccine mandates. The measure was initially invoked by the federal government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as mass demonstrations paralyzed the country's capital.

Lawmakers voted in favor of the Emergencies Act by 185-151 on Monday night, in a motion put forward by the government intended to grant itself increased powers to deal with the protests.

Members of the New Democratic Party joined with Trudeau's Liberals to pass the measure, while Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois voted in opposition.

Comment: Looks like Canada is following in the footsteps of Australia in becoming an overt totalitarian state, complete with a social credit system placing hard controls on the populace and excommunicating citizens who engage in wrongthink. And it seemed like such a nice country...

But when you get a glimpse of how these MPs think, this isn't really surprising.
