For general vessel protection, water mist systems are widely installed on naval vessels, including submarines and surface ships. Efficiency : These systems use significantly less water than traditional deluge systems and are safe for crew release without evacuation, unlike CO2 systems. Clean Agents: Systems like FM-200 and Stat-X® (condensed aerosol) are used for engine enclosures and electrical spaces. FM-200 eliminates fires within 10 seconds by removing heat energy rather than oxygen, while Stat-X provides a compact, environmentally friendly alternative for tight engine rooms, such as those on the U.S. Navy’s Ship to Shore Connector (SSC).
