A leopard entered a liquor shop in Todaraisingh town of Rajasthan's Tonk district on Sunday morning and attacked three people. The salesman eventually managed to lock the leopard inside the shop. A forest team from Jaipur reached the spot and rescued the animal after a five-hour operation.

According to officials, at around 8:45 am, Van Mitra (forest volunteer) Rakesh was informed by local residents that a leopard had been spotted hiding in bushes in Todaraisingh town. When Rakesh went near the bushes, the leopard attacked him. It then moved about 400 metres away towards a nearby liquor shop.


Salesman somehow saved his life

The leopard first attacked Fateh Lal Koli (40), who was sitting outside the liquor shop. It then ran inside the outlet and attacked salesman Sanjay Gurjar (25).

Sanjay somehow managed to save himself and succeeded in locking the leopard inside the shop. A rescue team from Jaipur reached the location at around 2 pm and safely rescued the leopard.

Following the incident, local residents rushed all three injured persons to hospital. Rakesh was discharged after receiving first aid, while Sanjay Gurjar and Fateh Lal Koli were referred to another hospital for further treatment.

A large crowd gathered at the spot after news of the leopard's presence spread across the area.
