Nolte: NBC report says body cam footage contradicts DOJ narrative in Paul Pelosi case

Thanks to a local NBC report, the sketchy narrative around Paul Pelosi's alleged assault at the hands of 42-year-old David DePape is even more sketchy.

The corrupt, left-wing Department of Justice tells us that after Paul Pelosi, husband of outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), called 911, it was the police who opened the door of the Pelosi home.

NBC Bay Area says that's not true. The local police report clearly states Paul Pelosi opened the door. What's more, the local left-wing district attorney does not dispute that. So why the discrepancy?

Here's a partial transcript from the NBC report:

The 'Stochastic Terror' lie

The Left's latest gambit for suppressing speech is built on preposterous grounds.

I browsed the news recently only to discover that, according to a popular science magazine, I was responsible for the attempted murder of Paul Pelosi, husband to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

In an opinion piece for Scientific American, writer Bryn Nelson insinuated that my factual reporting on Drag Queen Story Hour was an example of "stochastic terrorism," which he defines as "ideologically driven hate speech" that increases the likelihood of unpredictable acts of violence. On the night of the attack, Nelson argued, I had appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss my reporting, and, hours later, the alleged attacker, David DePape, radicalized by "QAnon" conspiracy theories about "Democratic, Satan-worshipping pedophiles," broke into the Pelosi residence and attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer.

This is a bizarre claim that, for a magazine supposedly dedicated to "science," hardly meets a scientific standard of cause and effect. There is no evidence that DePape watched or was motivated by Tucker Carlson's program; moreover, nothing in my reporting on Drag Queen Story Hour encourages violence or mentions Nancy Pelosi, QAnon, or Satan-worshipping pedophiles. My appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight and DePape's attack against Paul Pelosi are, in reality, two unrelated incidents in a large and complex universe. And Nelson, a microbiologist specializing in human excrement, is full of it.

FBI probes killing of Palestinian-American reporter Abu Akleh; Israel: Grave mistake

Move represents about-face by US, which had said it wouldn't open its own probe into death of reporter who Israel says was likely shot by IDF in error; Gantz: We won't cooperate

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation is launching an investigation into the killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, apparently by an Israeli soldier, officials said Monday, with Israel immediately rejecting cooperation with the probe.

US officials updated their Israeli counterparts earlier this month about the decision, an official familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel on Monday, confirming a Channel 14 news report.
The 51-year-old Abu Akleh, who was wearing a vest marked "Press" and a helmet, was shot dead on May 11 during clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen that broke out after soldiers raided the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern West Bank, amid a wider terror crackdown.
An Israel Defense Forces investigation found that she was hit by a bullet likely shot by an Israeli soldier, by mistake. The Palestinian Authority has alleged that she was targeted.

Comment: Are we seeing a shift in relations with Israel, or merely an 'investigation' to placate the outrage of this tragic incident.

Accused California wrong-way driver released hours after being charged with 'attempted murder of peace officer(s)'

California police officials have released the wrong-way driver accused of plowing his SUV into a group of police recruits and staff earlier this week, citing the "extreme complexity" of the ongoing case.

Nicholas Joseph Gutierrez, 22, was released from police custody late Thursday — just hours after officials announced that he had been charged with attempted murder in connection with Wednesday's devastating wrong-way wreck.

In a shocking reversal, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said early Friday morning that the agency had released Gutierrez just before 10 p.m. local time Thursday.

Disgraced FTX founder says he pretended to be a "woke westerner so everyone likes us"

fdx crypto
The founder of bust cryptocurrency exchange FTX has admitted he talked up his ethical credentials as part of a "dumb game we woke Westerners play" to burnish his reputation "so everyone likes us". The Telegraph has more.
Sam Bankman-Fried, the 30-year-old founder of collapsed cryptocurrency company FTX, admitted in an interview that his public stance on ethical issues was in part a "front".

The admission comes amid accusations that Mr. Bankman-Fried scammed investors out of their money. Regulators around the world, including the U.S. Department of Justice, are investigating the collapse of FTX, which has left over one million creditors out of pocket.

Mr. Bankman-Fried, who at one stage was worth around $16bn, was a self-proclaimed "effective altruist", meaning he aimed to make as much money as possible in order to give it away to charities.

He appeared in multiple videos explaining his views on climate change and world poverty and posted his thoughts on how to maximise his positive impact on the world on Twitter.

However, he told the website Vox: "Man all the dumb s*** I said... it's not true really."

CBS throws tantrum over Musk's Twitter acquisition and suspends use of its official account

twitter
© REUTERS/DADO RUVIC/ILLUSTRATIONAs Twitter is facing massive layoffs and resignations, CBS News and local-owned CBS stations, have paused their use of Twitter.
CBS News has halted its activity on Twitter in light of Elon Musk's turbulent and unpredictable takeover of the social media platform, the broadcasting company announced over the weekend.

CBS News national reporter Jonathan Vigliotti broke the news of the company's decision on Friday evening, saying that "in light of the uncertainty around Twitter and out of an abundance of caution, CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site as it continues to monitor the platform."

The last update posted on the CBS Twitter account is a retweet of a segment shared earlier in the day on Friday about ongoing investigations into former US president Donald Trump.

Comment: Well, it's not like CBS' last post was going to be about any investigation in the Hunter Biden laptop scandals, or similar, because CBS is essentially a propaganda outlet. And that's also why they've likely 'suspended' their use of Twitter, in a lame protest against Musk who, for now anyway, appears to be thwarting the establishment's tyrannical control over the site.

As Musk noted, Twitter has never been busier, and even with more activity but significantly less workers, Twitter continues to function without issue, and there's no sign of this alleged 'turbulence' on the application whatsoever.

Comment: One can be sure that whilst CBS have suspended their use of the company twitter account, their employees will continue to mine it for information, sources and news stories.

Flashback Media will not call Big Tech censorship "censorship" partly because they support fake fact checks

social media censorship
Many reporters seem unconcerned that social media platforms are censoring what people can read. In just one recent example, Washington Post technology reporter Will Oremus wrote a flat-footed analysis that tried but failed to deny that censoring happens. Oremus attempted this clumsy maneuver by diving into conflicting dictionary entries for "censor" (Remember online debates in college that boiled down to dictionary definitions? Yes, he did that.) and by deploying a stale but reliable formula of the DC pundit class: quoting academic experts they agree with and who travel the same ideological cocktail circuit.

What Oremus and others should do is just Google.

Wikipedia's "Censorship of Facebook" entry references multiple news articles where Facebook agreed to state-enacted bans in places like France, Germany and China. For example, a 2013 article in Time details Facebook agreeing to censor for countries. The story notes, "While India leads the pack, it was followed by Turkey, which restricted 2,014 pieces of content primarily because it defamed or criticized Ataturk or the Turkish state, which is illegal."

Twitter closes all of its office buildings as employees resign en masse

elon musk twitter profile
Employees had until 2pm PT on Thursday to commit to "hardcore Twitter 2.0." Instead, they quit.

Hundreds of Twitter employees have resigned en masse following Elon Musk's ultimatum that they commit to what he has dubbed a "hardcore Twitter 2.0."

The employees had until 2pm PT on Thursday to select "yes" on a Google Form to the question of whether they wanted to stay at Twitter, according to reports by The Verge and New York Times among others. Instead, employees began posting farewell messages to what has been described as an avalanche of salute emojis.

Employees were previously told they could sign on for Twitter's "exciting journey" or take severance and "transition away" from the company.

Comment: As much as the lefties delight in the idea that Musk's Twitter is a sinking ship, what is more than likely is that this was all a calculated move by Musk to weed out the bad apples. After all, why would Musk want a bunch of ideology-infected, resentful employees who don't want to be there? Might as well put them out to pasture and hold on to those who are up for the challenges ahead. It wouldn't surprise us to learn Musk is disappointed MORE employees didn't take the severance.

Best of the Web: Brazilian authorities block bank accounts of those allegedly driving 'anti-democratic acts'

banco do brasil
At least 43 people and companies targeted by Supreme Court.

Brazilian authorities blocked bank accounts Thursday of people and companies allegedly driving "anti-democratic acts" following Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's victory in a presidential runoff.

Federal Supreme Court (STF) judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered the move targeting at least 43 people and companies related to recent demonstrations.

"It is necessary, appropriate and urgent to block the bank accounts of those investigated, given the possibility of using resources to finance illicit and undemocratic acts, in order to stop the injury or threat to law," said De Moraes.

Dozens of court docs relating to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's associates to be UNSEALED after judge rules public interest outweighs right to privacy

Dozens of court documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein's associates, including a billionaire businessman, will be made public after a judge ruled the public interest outweighs the right to privacy.

Judge Loretta Preska on Friday ruled that the material concerning eight people should be unsealed despite one subject claiming it could 'wrongfully harm (his) privacy and reputation.'

Among those whose names are mentioned in the documents are Emmy Tayler, Ghislaine Maxwell's former personal assistant, who was accused of taking part in the sexual abuse of minors.

Comment: It doesn't sound like this is anything nearing a 'client list' everyone has been waiting for. It's unlikely we'll ever see anything approaching an official disclosure. They're throwing us scraps, while the egregious offenders remain free to continue indulging their perversions.
