Firing nurses who've worked through the pandemic is disgraceful

Across the United States, nurses and other healthcare workers are being fired for not getting vaccinated. Is there any better illustration of the folly of our public health establishment?

These nurses have served on the frontline for more than eighteen months, helping to treat COVID patients day after day, while most of the people demanding vaccine mandates were sitting at home on their laptops.

"Thanks for all your hard work. Oh, you don't want to get the vaccine? Well in that case, sayonara." In addition to being mean-spirited, the policy of firing unvaccinated healthcare workers doesn't really make any practical sense. And that's putting it charitably.

Seth Dillon, CEO of the satire site The Babylon Bee, joined Tucker Carlson on Fox News Wednesday night to discuss Facebook suppressing content on its platform.

Dillion discussed Big Tech censoring The Bee's content. "It starts with misinformation, right? I mean, we've been fact-checked to death, over and over again. It started out with this fact-check about CNN purchasing an industrial sized washing machine, so they could spin the news before publication, you know, and it's just been on and on and on from there... That was a fake story. Believe it or not."

"The social networks have been using these fact checkers to... control 'misinformation.' It's politically motivated and has been the whole time, and we're seeing like right now. We're seeing a drastic drop in traffic, a decline, a steady decline over the course of time."

Global food prices reached decade high in September

Global food prices have reached a decade high and increased for the second month in a row in September, according to a Thursday report from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The FAO Food Price Index (FFPI), which measures the monthly change in international prices of a basket of food commodities, averaged 130.0 points in September 2021 — that rate is 32.1 points higher than the same month last year and up 1.5 points from August. The FFPI has not reached these levels since 2011 when it hit 131.9.

The increase was largely spurred by "tightening supply conditions and robust demand for staples such as wheat and palm oil," the FAO reported.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has vowed not to enforce a local vaccine mandate, saying he's not willing to lose employees by demanding that they get their Covid-19 shots or be fired.

"I'm not forcing anyone," Villanueva said on Thursday. "The issue has become so politicized. There are entire groups of employees that are willing to be fired and laid off, rather than get vaccinated." He added that he would lose 5-10% of his staff "overnight" if he enforced the mandate as enacted by the Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday.

A mentally ill woman busted in an unprovoked attempted murder at the Times Square subway station was locked up on $100,000 bail Wednesday — as a group of soft-on-crime politicians demanded that prosecutors completely stop seeking bail to ease conditions at Rikers Island.

Accused subway shover Anthonia Egegbara was free to allegedly terrorize morning rush-hour straphangers on Monday after getting released without bail in a July 5 assault in Harlem that left the victim with injuries that included a black eye, broken nose and a knocked-out tooth.

Egegbara, 29, is charged in that case with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor that's among the many crimes for which judges can no longer impose bail under a controversial 2020 reform law that a handful of politicians would like to see broadened.

There will be no exemptions for religious reasons for health-care workers in Quebec mandated to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 15.

Health Minister Christian Dube made the statement in a news conference Thursday that Quebec would not be following the federal government's exemption on religious reasons for public servants.

"It's a question of health not a question of religion," he said. "I don't understand the federal position. That's their choice. For us, there won't be an exception."

Comment: Even aside from being disgusting coercion, this move is completely idiotic. Firing this many health care workers in one shot is likely to collapse the whole medical system, and the 'reinforcements' aren't going to help much. It would be hilarious if it weren't the people of Quebec who are going to pay the ultimate price.

If you lived in this country 15 years ago and you have a good memory, you may remember the creation of something called the National Security Division at the Department of Justice. It was created back in 2005 when they re-upped the Patriot Act. The point of the National Security Division, we were told at the time, was to conduct "counterterrorism and counterespionage" operations against foreign adversaries. This was the big stuff. Mostly it was Islamic terror, which was the primary threat at that time, but these were also the people in charge of busting the Chinese spies who try to steal our nuclear secrets. They stop the suicide bombers and the hijackings. Not small stuff. Crimes that threatened the nation. That was then.

An El Paso County woman says she won't be able to get a kidney transplant through UCHealth because she's not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Leilani Lutali learned of this after receiving a letter, dated Sept. 28, from the UCHealth Transplant Center at its Anschutz Medical Campus:
"The transplant team at University of Colorado Hospital has determined that it is necessary to place you inactive on the waiting list. You will be inactivated on the list for non-compliance by not receiving the COVID vaccine. You will have 30 days to begin the vaccination series. If your decision is to refuse COVID vaccination you will be removed from the kidney transplant list. You will continue to accrue waiting time, but you will not receive a kidney offer while listed inactive. Once you complete the COVID vaccination series you will be reactivated on the kidney transplant list pending any other changes in your health condition."

Comment: First they said it was no jab no leisure activities, then they said no jab no job, then they said no jab no life-saving medical treatments. Welcome to the two-tier society folks!

To Lutali, a recruiter for tech companies, it seems like her hospital was so insistent on saving her from COVID-19 that is is willing to let her possibly die by blocking her transplant surgery.

Lutali, who does not belong to a denomination, said she does not live in fear of dying because of her belief in the afterlife. She is searching for another hospital, possibly in Texas or Florida, where she could get a transplant without being vaccinated.

"I have hope that something will come along that is something I can live with in terms of my choices," she said.

Мedical professionals are facing threats to their careers and livelihoods for challenging COVID-19 orthodoxy, while an oft-censored Harvard Medical School professor is facing his latest Big Tech kerfuffle.

The University of California put psychiatrist and bioethics professor Aaron Kheriaty on "investigatory leave" after he sued the university system for refusing to recognize natural immunity such as his among exemptions to its COVID vaccine mandate.

Writing in the Wall Street Journal, Kheriaty had previously invoked the post-Nazi Nuremberg code in urging universities to abandon their mandates.

In his personal newsletter Wednesday, Kheriaty said he'll lose half his income while on so-called paid leave, because he's banned from "seeing my patients, supervising resident clinics, and engaging in weekend and holiday on-call duties."

His contract also bans him from working as a physician outside the UC system to recoup his revenue loss.
"The University may be hoping this pressure will lead me to resign 'voluntarily,' which would remove grounds for my lawsuit," Kheriaty wrote.

Comment: In order to keep their lies they must go against everybody that is telling the truth or dare to suspect and question their lies. Totalitarian grip over humanity is getting stronger every single day.
