Republican Kari Lake avoided being found liable for hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees incurred by Arizona Governor-elect Katie Hobbs and Maricopa County after a judge rejected pleas to sanction the losing gubernatorial candidate.

Arizona Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson ruled Tuesday that Lake must pay $33,000 for the expert witnesses hired by Hobbs in defense of her Nov. 8 election victory.

However, Hobbs had asked the court Monday to award her $550,210 in attorney fees, with more than $450,000 going to top Democratic lawyer Marc Elias' law firm.

Several funds managed by Arabella Advisors, a Democrat-linked consultant firm, are quietly bankrolling research by universities and non-profits into how online "misinformation" and "disinformation" spreads, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of the networks' grants.

Arabella Advisors, run by former Bill Clinton official Eric Kessler, manages certain administrative, legal and philanthropic functions of several non-profits including the Sixteen Thirty Fund, Hopewell Fund, North Fund and New Venture Fund, which donate to a variety of left-leaning groups, causes and Democratic candidates, according to tax filings and statements on the funds' and Arabella's websites. Several funds within the network are also sponsoring research into the effects of, and how best to mitigate, misinformation and disinformation, according to a DCNF review of public grants.

Many of the Arabella-funded research projects cite conservatives predominantly as purveyors of misinformation, with several projects recommending solutions to mitigate the spread of misinformation, including censorship.

A Texas billionaire whose donations to organizations across the United States have stayed relatively obscure has given millions of dollars to groups tied to efforts fighting the spread of purported "disinformation" and "misinformation," records show.

Through his LLC, Arnold Ventures, John Arnold has handed over $13.7 million to five groups linked to the movement to combat so-called disinformation and misinformation, which is often criticized by conservatives as promoting censorship and political bias, according to a Washington Examiner review of grants.

Arnold, a former Enron executive, founded the LLC with his wife, Laura Arnold. The group purports to be nonpartisan and manages financial giving for several Arnold-affiliated entities, such as the Laura and John Arnold Foundation. In 2021, Arnold Ventures awarded over $409 million in grants, according to its website.

US corruption doomed Afghanistan - ex-president

Karzai

Hamid Karzai, the only Afghan president since the 2001 US-led invasion, has admitted his culpability in the corruption that has plagued the country for the past two decades - but argued an external power played a much greater role than he did himself. Speaking to the Washington Post on Monday, he blamed the US for his country's fate.

Karzai told the outlet:
"I took "full responsibility for the corruption and bribes in the delivery of services. But the big contracts, big corruption, in hundreds of millions of dollars or millions of dollars, was clearly a United States of America thing. The war in Afghanistan was not our war."
Karzai clarified his position between the US-backed "democracy" he ran and the Taliban government, which has allowed him to continue living in Kabul. Despite owing his power to Washington, he has controversially referred to the Taliban as "brothers" and denounced the 21-year war ostensibly fought against them.
"I was not a partner of the United States in that war against Afghan villages and homes. I changed from the moment I recognized that this war that is fought in the name of defeating terrorism is actually a war against the Afghan people."

Republican lawmakers counter the January 6th Committees controversially redacted final report by confirming the outgoing House Speaker played a large role in the failure to protect the Capitol

Yesterday, in response to the House Select Committee's release of their highly controversial and largely redacted final report regarding the events of January 6th, 2021 at the US Capitol, House Republicans released their own bombshell report which actually included verifiable, factual evidence that isn't hearsay and could be used as evidence in an actual court of law.

Under authorization granted by probable future House Speaker and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Republican lawmakers gathered a slew of text and email messages which provide damning evidence that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office was directly involved in the creation and editing of the Capitol security plan that failed during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot and that security officials later declared they had been "denied again and again" the resources needed to protect one of the nation's most important homes of democracy.

Tucker "gets it": Putin doesn't want American missiles on his border

"Getting Ukraine to join NATO was the key to inciting war with Russia. We didn't get it at the time. (But) Now it's obvious. Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine because he didn't want Ukraine to join NATO. Putin certainly had other motives as well; people always do, but that's the main reason Russia invaded. The Russians don't want American missiles on their border. They don't want a hostile government next door. Now that is true, whether you are allowed to say it aloud in public or not. It has been true for a long time. A lot has been written about this over many years by serious people. No one who knows anything and is honest, will tell you Putin invaded Ukraine simply because he is evil. Putin may be evil, he certainly seems to be, but he also has strategic motives for doing that, whether you agree with those motives or not. That is irrelevant. Those are the facts." — Tucker Carlson, Fox News
Tucker Carlson is right about Ukraine. NATO membership for Ukraine was clearly a provocation aimed at luring Russia into an invasion. And, it worked, too. Putin could not take the risk of having "a hostile government next door" or "American missiles on his border," so he acted to preempt those threats by sending the tanks across the border on February 24, 2021.

US Supreme Court rules to keep Title 42 in place indefinitely

supreme court USA
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Tuesday to keep the pandemic-era limit on immigration, referred to as Title 42, in place indefinitely, which allows officials to turn away migrants at the border to prevent the spread of COVID.

Customs and Border Protection officials warned lawmakers that approximately 50,000 foreigners were waiting to cross into the United States once Title 42 ended. However, according to The Associated Press, an order from Chief Justice John Roberts stayed a lower court's ruling, which justices extended to give the court time to consider both sides' arguments.

Justice Neil Gorsuch the only dissenting conservative justice to join all of the Supreme Court's liberal justices in Tuesday's ruling said "the current border crisis is not a COVID crisis."

"And courts should not be in the business of perpetuating administrative edicts designed for one emergency only because elected officials have failed to address a different emergency," he wrote, according to KTLA. "We are a court of law, not policymakers of last resort."

FBI justifies meddling in Twitter because it has a 'longstanding tradition' of doing the same thing with 'numerous companies'

After a series of "Twitter Files" detailed Twitter's extensive collusion with the FBI and federal agencies to control public discourse before Elon Musk took over the tech giant, the FBI on Wednesday tried to salvage its reputation by spinning the revelations as normal procedure.

"The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries," the FBI said in a statement to Fox News. "As evidenced in the correspondence, the FBI provides critical information to the private sector in an effort to allow them to protect themselves and their customers."

NY GOP Rep-elect George Santos grilled over biography 'lies': 'Do you have no shame?'

Santos said on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' Democrats seem to have no issue with President Biden's past purported fabrications.

Rep.-elect George Santos, R-N.Y., who flipped a hotly-contested congressional seat on the edge of New York City, responded to criticism of misleading or fabricated items on resume in a contentious interview on Fox News Tuesday, insisting he is not a "fraud" or a "fake."

Santos has come under fire for claims he graduated from Manhattan's Baruch College, his connection to Judaism and work in the financial sector. He defeated Robert Zimmerman, a longtime Democratic activist who has also appeared on Fox News in the past, as the two vied for outgoing Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi's seat encompassing part of Nassau County and northeastern Queens.

California Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu posts then deletes Covid misinformation in response to new Twitter Files

ted lieu
California Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu deleted a tweet after he was called out by Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Monday for posting false information regarding the latest release of "The Twitter Files."

The latest round of the Twitter Files dropped earlier in the day and revealed that the Biden administration pressured the social media company to censor and suppress information on Covid, Covid vaccines, and the public reactions to the pandemic, which went against their preferred messaging.

In a now-deleted tweet Lieu tagged journalist David Zweig who posted the latest chapter and said, "The tweet you cite is in fact misleading. People of all ages at high risk from COVID generally benefit from vaccines. Prior natural immunity may last only a few months. COVID appears to be a leading cause of death for children."
