Canada's TC Energy shut its Keystone pipeline in the United States after more than 14,000 barrels of crude oil spilled into a creek in Kansas, making it one of the largest crude spills in the United States in nearly a decade.

The cause of the leak, which occurred in Kansas about 20 miles (32 km) south of a key junction in Steele City, Nebraska, is unknown. It is the third spill of several thousand barrels of crude on the pipeline since it first opened in 2010.

The 622,000 barrel-per-day Keystone line is a critical artery shipping heavy Canadian crude from Alberta to refiners in the U.S. Midwest and the Gulf Coast. It is unclear how long the closure will last.

There have been no effects on drinking water wells or the public, the U.S Environmental Protection Agency said in a statement, though surface water of Mill Creek was affected.

Ontario College of Teachers urges school to ask teacher who wears massive prosthetic breasts to school to act professionally

canadian teachers prosthetic breasts
The Ontario College of Teachers has completed a review of the situation involving a male teacher wearing enormous prosthetic breasts to class. They concluded that professional conduct provisions do not need to be strengthened because it is already within the power of the board to find a solution.

The teacher's massive prosthetic breasts and the unwillingness of any administrator to do anything about it has turned the region into an international laughing stock and resulted in the school dealing with angry protests, bomb threats and threats of gun violence.

Stephen Lecce, Ontario's minister of education, had requested a review of the code of conduct back in September after Oakville became the focus of intense international scrutiny and ridicule when photographs of a male shop teacher wearing obscene fetish gear in a classroom full of students began to circulate on social media.

Comment: In other words, the whole situation continues to be a complete clown show with no end in sight.

A cartel leader and hitman fond of videotaping torture sessions and decapitating likely dozens of enemies has gone missing from a federal prison in Florida, where he was serving a 49-year sentence.

As of November, Edgar Valdez-Villareal, a Mexican American cartel leader, had been mysteriously removed from the federal Bureau of Prisons website. He is now listed as "not in BOP custody" even though his release date is not until July 27, 2056.

Valdez-Villareal, 49, is known by his underworld moniker "La Barbie," and headed up the Los Negros, an enforcement group of the Beltran Leyva cartel — one of Mexico's most ruthless underworld groups. Best of the Web: Twitter Files part two released, exposing 'secret blacklists'

elon musk twitter logo
With the simple tweet "Start your engines..." Matt Taibbi announced the second dump of Twitter files, which were then tweeted out by Bari Weiss.

"Thread: The Twitter Files Part Two," Weiss tweeted. "Twitter's secret blacklists." Many users have long speculated that Twitter employees held secret blacklists and would shadow ban and suppress content from those accounts they deemed unpalateable.

Weiss revealed that yes, "teems of Twitter employees" did build blacklists, and used those to prevent content from trending that they didn't want to see. While a user is notified if their account is locked, there was no way to tell if your account was being suppressed.

Elisabeth Finch admits in the interview with journalist Peter Kiefer - who first broke the story of her lies for The Ankler - that she 'f****d up'. She is shown, front right, in an episode of Grey's Anatomy.
The Grey's Anatomy writer accused of faking a cancer battle and fabricating stories of abortion and family suicide to inspire episodes of the show has confessed that she made it all up in a bombshell interview with The Ankler.

Elisabeth Finch admits in the interview with journalist Peter Kiefer - who first broke the story of her lies for The Ankler - that she 'f****d up'.

'What I did was wrong. Not okay. F***d up. All the words,' she said.

Comment: What is clear from this story is that Finch is still attempting to garner sympathy, spinning her pathological lies and manipulations into a 'poor me' narrative. Not to engage in armchair diagnosis, but this case has all the signs of a psychopathic personality disorder.

The Woodhouse Colliery project is expected to take two years to build and create 500 jobs. However, many say it will set back Britain in its bid to meet climate goals.

The UK approved its first new deep coal mine in three decades on Wednesday, sparking swift criticism from environmental groups.

Britain's Conservative government has defended the project, with Cabinet Minister Michael Gove saying it would have a "neutral effect" on climate change, but activists warn the mine could deal a major blow to the UK's climate goals.

What do we know about the project?
