The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has emailed The Grayzone a defense of the Azov Battalion and refused to condemn the Pentagon for honoring a veteran of the group who sports Nazi-inspired tattoos.

A November 9 email from the Anti-Defamation League to The Grayzone provided a twisted defense of Ukraine's Azov Battalion. Despite its self-proclaimed "anti-hate" mission, the ADL insisted in the email it "does not" consider Azov as the "far right group it once was."

The Azov Battalion is a neo-Nazi unit formally integrated into the US government-backed Ukrainian military. Founded by Andriy Biletsky, who has infamously vowed to "lead the white races of the world in a final crusade...against Semite-led untermenschen," Azov was once widely condemned by Western corporate media and the human rights industry for its association with Nazism. Then came the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

In the months that immediately followed, Azov led the Ukrainian military's defense of Mariupol, the group's longtime stronghold. As the militia assumed a frontline role in the war against Russia, Western media led a campaign to rebrand Azov as misunderstood freedom fighters while accusing its critics of echoing Kremlin talking points. The New York Times has even referred to the unit as the "celebrated Azov Battalion."

Indonesia has released on parole Umar Patek, convicted for his role in the Bali bombings that killed more than 200 people in 2002, after he completed just more than half of his sentence.

Patek, a member of the Al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), was jailed for 20 years in 2012 after he was found guilty of mixing the bombs used in the attack on two busy nightclubs in the resort town of Kuta.

Following his release, Patek will be required to join a "mentoring programme" until April 2030, according to a statement from the ministry of law and human rights on Wednesday that announced his release.

His parole will be revoked if he violates any of its terms during that time, the ministry added.

The Bali attacks were the worst in Indonesian history and led to a crackdown on hardline groups such as JI. Australia and the United States also provided funding and assistance to strengthen Jakarta's counterterrorism operations.

Indonesia announced in August that Patek had become eligible for parole after some reductions to his sentence, in a decision criticised by Australia, home to 88 of the Bali attacks.

Former President Donald Trump's company, the Trump Organization, was convicted of tax crimes committed by two of its longtime executives following the conclusion of a trial in the New York Supreme Court.

Two company entities, the Trump Corporation and the Trump Payroll Corp., were on trial and were both found guilty on all 17 counts the company faced, including conspiracy, scheme to defraud, criminal tax fraud, and falsifying business records.

Additionally, the real estate, hospitality, and golf resort company also faces the possibility of a $1.6 million fine.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) issued a statement following the ruling, saying there's "no tolerance for individuals or organizations that violate our laws to line their pockets."

Comment: Woke lawyer Letitia James has been gunning for Trump since she took office. It's a personal vendetta, only made worse by the fact that he actually won the presidency. Along with that pet project, she has been wreaking the usual SJW havoc.

The rise of youth gender clinics in Western nations has presented a case study in the dysfunction of mainstream media. Famous mastheads and broadcasters, especially those regarded as progressive, have failed to cover major stories in this area, bungled those they have covered, and ignored scientific evidence that conflicts with the demand that self-identified gender must trump biological sex in all areas of policy-making (a system of beliefs often described as gender ideology). Interested news consumers have been left to sift through the uneven reporting on this subject that takes place on social media, where gold nuggets of truth intermingle freely with misinformation.

Yet many people still believe that it's worthwhile to critique journalists who cover (or, more commonly, fail to cover) this topic, in the hope that they will ultimately choose to do their job properly. And there are good practical reasons for doing so. As with other specialized issues, if the mass media doesn't cover it, only a small minority of (typically web-savvy) people will make it their business to educate themselves. And while New York Times coverage alone won't dissuade a non-binary girl from a double mastectomy or other irreversible medical steps, Times reporting can get the attention of those elite policymakers — in politics, health care, and academia — who've legitimized and facilitated the medicalised transition of a fast-expanding group of minors.

As German fans struggle to come to terms with the 'absolute catastrophe' of their team crashing out of its second consecutive World Cup, some are blaming the team's focus on LGBTQ issues as a major distraction leading to defeat.

Just last month, Germany's football powerhouse flew into Qatar on wings of glory, with its Lufthansa aircraft emblazoned with the logo 'Diversity Wins', setting the tone for what would become more of a hectoring lecture tour than any sporting event.

Once on Arab ground, the footballers from Team Germany continued to court dissent in their host country, Qatar, which criminalizes homosexual conduct, by attempting to wear 'One Love' armbands in support of gay rights. When FIFA voted down this social justice promotion, the German team had their group photo taken with their hands over their mouths as a "silent act of rebellion."

But just as fast as they touched down in Qatar with their message of tolerance, they were already packing their bags after suffering a humiliating early defeat. They were beaten on the pitch, fair and square, not in the cultural war - but the casual observer could be excused for forgetting that the main game of the World Cup is supposed to be football, and the main job of the German (or any other) team is to kick the ball, not their hosts. Some observers, like former Russian national team coach Valery Gazzaev, even argued that the Germans lost because they were more focused on preaching than playing.

Dangerous Precedent: NZ court orders baby removed from "anti-vax" parents

A court in New Zealand has awarded temporary custody of a baby to medical professionals, after the parents insisted their child be given only unvaccinated blood transfusions during surgery.

CNN reports:
A critically-ill six-month-old baby will be placed under the temporary guardianship of New Zealand's High Court after his parents refused to allow him to undergo lifesaving heart surgery using blood from people vaccinated against Covid-19 [...] The baby's parents believed there were "spike proteins in the blood of people who have been vaccinated and that these proteins were causing unexpected deaths relating to transfusions," according to the judgment.
The key detail here is that the parents have not, in any way, refused their child medical care - the usual prerequisite for this kind of court order. They want their son to have the surgery, they are simply setting reasonable terms.

Now, whether or not the parents are correct and spike proteins do pose a threat, they have every right to try and do the best for their child as they see fit.

To any pro "vaccine" people out there who are not OK with this, answer this simple question: What if parents of a vaccinated child had specifically requested vaccinated blood transfusions, and the court had removed the baby and injected it with unvaccinated blood...would that be OK?

I'm guessing not. And the principle is clearly the same.

This isn't about the health of the baby, obviously. After all, literally ALL of the blood in its body is already unvaccinated. If that were the issue, the court could have ordered he be vaccinated.

Comment: Being fired is the absolute minimum Ziegler should be facing for the consequences of his ideologically driven malfeasance. He and the rest of the school board should be doing time.

Comment: The fact is, the hospital could have easily granted the parents' wishes but chose not to because of the precedent it would set and the bad PR it would give the vaccines and the vaccinated. And what recourse is there if the child's health is compromised as a result of using blood from vaccinated donors? None. Welcome to the medical police state.
