US meat packers' profit margins jumped 300% during lockdown, drove up meat prices and underpaid farmers - White House

Tyson chicken
Four of the biggest meat-processing companies, using their market power in the highly consolidated U.S. market to drive up meat prices and underpay farmers, have tripled their own net profit margins since the pandemic started, White House economics advisers said.

Financial statements of the meat-processing companies - which control 55%-85% of the market for beef, poultry and pork - contradict claims that rising meat prices were caused by higher labor or transportation costs, advisers led by National Economic Council Director Brian Deese wrote in an analysis published on the White House website Friday.

Officials studied earnings statements from Tyson Foods Inc , the chicken producer and biggest U.S. meat company by sales; Brazil-based JBS SA, the world's biggest meatpacker; Brazilian beef producer Marfrig Global Foods SA which owns most of National Beef Packing Company ; and Seaboard Corp RIC.

Comment: If the White House sincerely wanted to prevent criminal profit gouging, it could do more to stop it, as it is, it's likely just using it as a deflection from its own culpability for soaring costs: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: COVID And Mind Control - Do People Fear The Virus, Or Their Government?

GOP senators warn Biden vaccine mandate for truckers crossing border will worsen supply chain crisis

A group of Republican senators sent President Biden a letter urging him to abandon plans for a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for truck drivers crossing the northern border.

Twelve senators, led by Montana Sen. Steve Daines, are warning the president that the proposed vaccine mandate would hinder the transportation of goods across the U.S.-Canada border and exacerbate the ongoing supply chain crisis.

"Trucking is the largest mode of surface trade with Canada; every day, there are approximately 14,000 total truck entries along the U.S.-Canada border hauling more than $846 million of goods. Any disruptions to the continuity of U.S.-Canada trade would likely have far-reaching consequences that extend beyond our shared border," the GOP senators wrote.

The US will break its worthless 'assurances' on Assange. Here's why

assange protest extradition royal court london
© Reuters / Henry NichollsSupporters of Julian Assange display signs and banners, outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London, Britain December 10, 2021.
I've been covering Julian Assange's extradition hearing since 2020. I've attended every hearing and ruling. What happened on Friday in the British High Court was a travesty of justice.

To recap where we are in the Assange case:
  • January 2021: District Judge Vanessa Baraitser blocked Julian Assange's extradition from the United Kingdom to the United States on health grounds.
  • October 2021: the United States appealed this decision on five grounds.
  • December 10, 2021: the High Court ruled in favor of the US, overturning January's decision, and saying the extradition could go ahead
I watched Lord Justice Timothy Holroyde read out the ruling on Friday, when I attended the High Court remotely. It was done so casually and quickly - the whole thing lasted barely 10 minutes.

UK: Omicron infecting 200,000 a day - COVID passport changes announced

© Sky NewsThe scare program is working: Long queues for walk-in boosters formed on Monday after the PM opened the programme up to everyone
Sajid Javid said children aged 12-15 will now have their jabs registered on the NHS COVID pass for international travel and people in England will need two jabs and a booster to get into large venues, or a negative lateral flow test.

Omicron is currently infecting 200,000 people a day across the UK, according to modelling from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).

The health secretary said the COVID variant now represents more than 20% of coronavirus cases in England, adding: "The UKHSA estimates that the current number of daily infections are around 200,000."

It's understood that the number can change as the growth changes in the future - but it is the agency's best estimate for Monday 13 December.

Comment: Given the mutation rate of the coronavirus family, this scam can be kept up indefinitely. Will they start naming variants after cartoon characters after they run out of the Greek alphabet?

UK bank NatWest fined £265m after bin bags of cash laundered, first ever conviction of bank by FCA

NatWest has been fined £265m after admitting it failed to prevent money-laundering of nearly £400m by one firm.

A gold trading business suspected of money-laundering deposited £700,000 in cash into one NatWest branch in black bin bags, a court heard on Monday.

A criminal gang deposited huge sums of cash across about 50 branches, prosecutors for the UK's financial watchdog said.

NatWest said it deeply regrets failing to monitor the customer properly.

It is the first time a financial institution has faced criminal prosecution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under anti-money laundering laws in the UK.

Comment: What's most surprising is that the FCA actually prosecuted them, because the crash of 2008 exposed the rampant corruption and criminality at UK financial institutions, particularly at the top levels, and that regulators have been complicit. However, perhaps they did so because, relatively, those involved were small fry and this didn't implicate any major players, and the bank basically got off with just a fine.

Comment: It's notable that the judged cleared the bank of any invovlement, ruling that these were simple 'failings', at every level of the bank:

South Korea to use AI facial recognition to track Covid patients

In an effort to limit infections, South Korea is to trial an artificial intelligence (AI) facial recognition system to track Covid cases in one of its most densely populated cities, according to an official cited by Reuters.

The system, which will be funded nationally and tested in Bucheon, on the outskirts of Seoul, will begin operating in January. Using facial recognition and AI, it will take advantage of the city's 10,820 security cameras to track the movements of active cases and their close contacts, and to determine whether they wore a mask.

Comment: South Korea is ramping up the trend in 24/7 surveillance of populations. "Covid" has merely given it another excuse to do so.

Davos' Last Stand Flops at the Box Office despite massive fear campaign

Davos box office
So Davos' Last Stand hit theatres a couple of weeks ago. Starring OmicronVID-9/11 as the latest unseen killer this was supposed to be the horror movie of a generation.

Geopolitically, this is the worst opening for a movie since Ishtar.

Sure the overnight preview box office was good. The Dow off 1100 on Opening Day. Gold thwapped. Bitcoin crushed. But then people started talking about the train wreck they'd seen.

The response to OmicronVID-9/11's performance has been nothing short of hilarious.

The early reviews pointed to an overblown 'whisper number' on box office receipts.

The hits just kept coming. The first scathing review came from no less than Goldman Sachs which screamed that they were not informed of the release of Omicron. They compared OmicronVID's acting ability to the best on PornHub.

Comment: Despite the script being ridiculous and omicron even more so, it has still be used by many rulers in Europe to continue the war on their citizens. And yes, the data says that omicron is a nothing burger:

Panic? US mega-corporations rush to abandon vax mandate

gallows in Hungary
This week's nationwide annihilation of Biden's Federal Contractor vaccine mandate at the hands Georgia Federal Judge R. Stan Baker has resulted in a landslide retreat of cowardly mega-corporations from their so-confident bullying of American workers.

Biden's illegal gamble, the nationwide Federal contractor vaccine mandate, has like his previous Medicare mandate and OSHA if-you-have-100-workers-mandatory-vax mandate been ripped to shreds early on in the courts.

Biden's mandates have always been a bullying gamble, an admission that they knew they were engaging in illegal acts but that they would continue to use the not-insignificant weapons of the executive branch to blast as much harm as possible until the courts stepped in and noted the obvious: "You can't do this!"

Cynics - and I sympathize - will say that the courts could have ruled either way so don't get too excited.

That's the lesson of the past two years: There is nothing below us as we look down. It takes our breath away. We now understand that our civilization has been built on a pile of sand and any determined entity could tunnel under us as we are distracted by the human necessities of providing for our families and living our finite lives as best as possible.

Comment: These are some small victories of common sense over pervasive insanity. But it remains to be seen how many other mega corporations and institutions are beholden to - or otherwise corrupted by - the mass Technocratic overhaul that threatens to render most of the business world beholden to tyrannical control and dysfunction.

Best of the Web: RFK Jr's Heroic Resistance to the CIA's Continuing Covid Coup D'état - A Meditation

RFK Jr.
With his extraordinary new book, The Real Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health, RFK Jr. has made it very clear that he will not allow Orwell's 1984 totalitarian boot to stamp on his face.

His is a very rare moral courage, and he is asking us to join him, before it is too late and we enter into a new dark age, in recognizing and resisting the evil forces intent on stamping out democracy around the world.

He is not pulling his punches with language as he accuses the political-intelligence-media-money-medical-corporate-pharmaceutical conspirators of executing "the controlled demolition of American constitutional democracy."

For a brilliant and highly accomplished lawyer and excellent writer and speaker, the choice of those words "controlled demolition" is clearly intentional.

For anyone who doubts that the Covid-19 crisis is an intelligence-run operation controlled by spooks working with medical technocrats like Anthony Fauci, billionaires such as Bill Gates, the military, media, Big Pharma, the World Economic Forum, etc., a close reading of this book - with its 2,194 references - will disabuse one of that illusion.

Comment: When we look back at this time in world history we will have added RFK Jr's name and legacy on par with the Heroic stature of his uncle's and father's. And if nothing else, a source of blazing light in the midst of humanity's darkest hour.

'Untact': South Korea's gov't working to limit human interaction in ALL aspects of life

south korea
© nthony Wallace/AFP/Getty ImagesSocial isolation is among the concerns tied to the development of increasingly 'contactless' economy in South Korea
For Seoul-based graduate Lee Su-bin, the transition to a new lifestyle during the pandemic was no big deal.

"At the university library, I would reserve my books online, which would then be sanitised in a book steriliser before being delivered to a locker for pick up," the 25-year-old says.

"Untact has made many aspects of life so convenient."

Introduced in 2020, "Untact" is a South Korean government policy that aims to spur economic growth by removing layers of human interaction from society. It gathered pace during the pandemic and is expanding rapidly across sectors from healthcare, to business and entertainment.

The push to create contactless services is designed increase productivity and cut bureaucracy but has also fuelled concerns over the potential social consequences.

Comment: The last 20+ months of lockdowns provided unique insight into the devastating impact that prolonged periods of isolation (and fearmongering) has on people; the results were soaring rates of mental health issues, alcoholism, domestic violence, suicides, deaths of despair - the list goes on - and yet, under the guise of safety and efficiency the dystopian goal is being pursued anyway, and encouraged in large part by massive grants from governments. It's perhaps no coincidence that an atomized society, from the establishment's perspective, is desirable because it's much easier to control:
