No Italian has ever voted for Mario Draghi in an election, but given the opportunity it seems that many might choose to do so. Recent polls indicate that Italy's technocrat prime minister, appointed last February by the country's president, Sergio Mattarella, basks in stellar approval ratings of about 65%. As honeymoon periods go, this one has justified the "Super Mario" hype that accompanied Mr Draghi's installation.
The explanation for his success lies in the unaccustomed sense of stability and calm that the former head of the European Central Bank has delivered. Since taking office, following the mid-Covid implosion of a centre-left coalition government, Mr Draghi has presided with authority over a unity administration that involves every party apart from the far-right Brothers of Italy. Rome's Covid recovery plan is being enthusiastically funded by the European Commission, whose officials see the prime minister as a safe pair of hands, and Italy's handling of the pandemic on Mr Draghi's watch has been assured.

Last week, Melzer drew the ire of the Dutch police with a series of tweets. In one, he compared the arrest of a man during a coronavirus protest in The Hague in March last year with the death of George Floyd, who was killed by police brutality and sparked the Black Lives Matter movement in the summer of 2020.
"I have enough experience in the field of war, military actions, and police brutality to say that this is torture," Melzer said. "The officers hit hard and then let the police dog bite the man. That is unnecessary, disproportionate, and the same disrespect for a human that I saw in George Floyd. This man is still alive, but he could have died from this violence. With the methods used, police officers accepted that risk."
Comment: It's notable that his comments come at a time when the official narrative has fallen apart and protests against the lockdowns, vaccine mandates and vaccine passports are happening all around the world and are a near-daily occurrence:

Comment: If he'd been leaking to the Chinese or Russians, this would be all over world media. So he was probably leaking to the US, UK or Israel...
Lars Findsen
Findsen, the head of the Danish Defense Intelligence Service (DDIS), has been charged with leaking top-secret information that could damage the nation's security or relations with foreign powers, according to the Danish TV2 channel, citing unnamed sources.
He was reportedly arrested and brought into custody on December 9, but this remained undisclosed until Monday, when the Copenhagen City Court pulled back the curtain on the little-known case. Authorities are still treating the probe with the utmost secrecy and very few details have been released to the public.

On January 10, Colonel of the National Security Service of Kazakhstan Azamat Ibrayev was found dead in the backyard of his house in the capital, Nur-Sultan. According to local sources, he apparently jumped out of the window. A pre-trial investigation is underway.
Comment: As noted by Pepe Escobar in Steppe on Fire: Kazakhstan's color revolution, there's evidence that both foreign forces and internal elements were utilized in this failed colour revolution operation.

The documents come from a report at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which were allegedly hidden in a top secret shared drive.
DARPA facilitates research in technology with potential military applications under the US Department of Defense.
Comment: This could be the death knell for puppy-torture expert Anthony Fauci. We live in hope.
However, note also that this is probably part of ongoing 'information management' to cut loose (and eventually dump blame onto) Fauci and the civilian agencies by the military (and deeper) network by the 'higher-ups'. They always have one eye on 'the next phase' in controlling populations, and 'the pandemic' isn't going to last forever as the means by which to do so.
As explained by Joe and Niall in their latest NewsReal, the economic consequences of shuttering the world economy for long spells over the last two years has caused major shortages in labor and goods/services, shortages that the Powers That Be now look forward to 'managing' on our behalf. Until the situation runs away from them and they no longer can...

Pope Francis issued a warning Monday against so-called cancel culture during his annual address to the Vatican's Diplomatic Corps.
In the speech to representatives from the 183 countries accredited to the Holy See, the pope declared getting vaccinated a "moral obligation" — and he also came out swinging on the issue of "cancel culture," whereby people are ostracized, particularly online, for making remarks that are deemed to be politically incorrect.
Comment: It seems not all takes can be on point. From the ones mentioned above it seems his Popiness is 1 for 3. Do better, Your Holiness.

He bristled at a query about the shortage of COVID-19 rapid tests, answered another about omicron-spurred travel restrictions and sidestepped a third about whether Sen. Joe Manchin failed to keep his word when he torpedoed Biden's social services and climate spending plan.
"I'm not supposed to be having this press conference right now," Biden said at the end of a meandering response that didn't directly answer the question about the West Virginia Democrat.
Seconds later, Biden turned and walked out of the room, abruptly ending what's become the president's preferred method for his limited engagements with the press.
As Biden wraps up his first year in the White House, he has held fewer news conferences than any of his five immediate predecessors at the same point in their presidencies, and he has taken part in fewer media interviews than any of his recent predecessors.
The dynamic has left the White House facing questions about whether the president, who vowed to have the most transparent administration in the nation's history, is falling short in pulling back the curtain on how his administration operates and missing opportunities to explain his agenda to Americans
Comment: It is not how much or little Biden says. He simply turns off America and walks away.

The "5D chess" interpretation of Russia's response to last week's Hybrid War of Terror on Kazakhstan was just articulated by The Saker, who's among the most prominent gatekeepers of the AMC's Russian-friendly segment. He shared his views in his latest piece titled "Who 'lost' Kazakhstan and to whom?" What follows are pertinent excerpts perfectly embodying the "5D chess" theory:

"I know the history of Russia. For centuries, they have experienced conflicts with their neighbors. But Russia has an alternative: to cooperate, to work with NATO. It is possible to find together a path, a political path to follow, and also to respond to Russia's concerns... but there is always a risk of conflict. NATO deterrence is credible and strong... We must hope and work hard for the best, but prepare for the worst."Over the weekend there appeared pessimistic statements from Biden administration officials, seeming to walk back prior reports from last week that the White House could be prepared to offer Putin a reduction of US forces stationed in Eastern Europe.
The rhetoric ramped up by touting a US 'option' of imposing strict export controls on Russia. Such controls would involve curbs on sensitive technology and electronics, according to Reuters, in the scenario of Putin ordering an offensive into Ukraine. This would include, according to an official who spoke to Reuters, "measures to deprive Russia of microelectronics made with or based on U.S. software or technology."
