Experts are investigating the death of a whale shark that was spotted at the shoreline in Barangay Cabugan, Tagum City, Davao del Norte Tuesday dawn.

In his Facebook post, Darrell Blatchley, owner of D' Bone Museum in Davao City, captured a photo of a dead whale while rested on the shoreline after it was washed ashore.

Blatchley told SunStar Davao that it was found lifeless around 5 a.m. on August 7.

The whale shark measures 14 feet or 4.3 meters.

Blatchley said they will conduct a necropsy, a surgical examination of the dead animal, to learn its cause of death.

He added that remains will be brought to the museum.

Three dead beaked whales found in 'highly unusual' strandings on west coast of Ireland

Stranding on Gola Island
Stranding on Gola Island
About 175 whale and dolphin strandings have been reported so far this year.

Three beaked whales were found dead in three separate locations in Donegal and Mayo over the weekend.

The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group has described the strandings as "highly unusual" for the deep-diving mammal.

The IWDG reported that in Donegal, one whale was found floating in Sheephaven Bay and another on Gola Island, while in Mayo the third whale was found at Tirraun on the Mullet Peninsula.

According to the IWDG, three or four strandings of the animals, which are known as Cuvier's beaked whales, in one year is relatively normal but "it is highly unusual to have three recorded in separate locations on the one day".

Firefighters battle rare firenado at UK plastics factory

firenado leicestershire
A firenado is generated in a similar way to a tornado, but full of fire
Firefighters in Derbyshire have captured on video a rare fire tornado, or firenado, towering 50ft above them while they tackled an industrial blaze near the town of Swadlincote.

The film shows a dazzling column of red-hot fire reaching high into the sky as black smoke billows up from a pool of flames at a plastic pallet factory, where the blaze broke out at about 1.20am on Tuesday morning.

As the camera tilts back to show the full height of the phenomenon, the whirling string of light appears to pulsate and bend as it is whipped by winds.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, which helped the Derbyshire and Staffordshire services tackle the blaze, shared the video on Facebook, saying: "Whilst we were firefighting at Occupation Lane we witnessed a firenado or a fire whirl.

"It's created as cool air enters the top of the hot air causing a swirl similar to how a tornado is formed."

Comment: The articles states that firenadoes are due to a temperature differential, but is that really the case? Or are we seeing a rise in a variety of phenomena around the world because of the electrical nature of this activity and the changing nature of our planet? Because, as noted in: Rare tornado touches down in Carinthia, Austria
The accumulation of cometary dust in the Earth's atmosphere plays an important role in the increase of tornadoes, cyclones, hurricanes and their associated rainfalls, snowfalls and lightning. To understand this mechanism we must first take into account the electric nature of hurricanes, tornadoes and cyclones, which are actually manifestations of the same electric phenomenon at different scales or levels of power.
So when we take into account the rise in not just firenadoes, but snownadoes, deadly lightning and hail, and other strange sky phenomena, clearly other factors are at play than just temperature:

"World weather issues" see rise in grain prices with lowest global yield in five years

hail barley damage
Barley damaged in hail storm south of High River, Calgary, on Monday, July 30.
Feed wheat prices rose by almost £4/t in just two days, with the spot ex-farm value averaging £181.23/t towards midday on Friday (3 August).

November futures touched £200/t during the week and stood at £192.25/t at lunchtime on Friday.

On the same day, the AHDB estimated wheat yields at 5-8% below the five-year average of 8.2t/ha. This would give a harvest of 13.3-13.7m tonnes, the lowest for five years.

With the GB winter wheat harvest estimated at about 25% complete, there is caution around the figures.

Comment: Farmers are facing an endless torrent of weather related disasters, from brutal cold and record breaking rainfall that delay planting, devastating drought that lead to lower yield, or destructive hail and early frost that completely decimate the crop: Also check out SOTT's monthly documentary: SOTT Earth Changes Summary - June 2018: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

"Sadly the smaller of the two whales had died and iwi have blessed," Project Jonah posted this morning.

"The rescue effort for the remaining whale has ramped up with channels being dug."

Rescuers trying to free the stranded humpbacks resumed work this morning, with the aim of turning the mammals and digging a trench in their bid to set them free.

The two whales, who Department of Conservation believe to be a mother and calf, were first spotted stuck on Ripiro Beach, 2km south of Baylys Beach, Northland.

But looking at all northern hemisphere temperatures, not just where the media wants you to look, you will find an enormous amount of below normal temperatures that balance total temperatures to 0.0C across the entire N. Hemisphere. Incredible as that sounds, lets take a look.

Unprecedented drought in the Korea's kills 29 people, millions of livestock and decimates crops

drought korea
© Kim Kwang Hyon/APTemperatures have reached more than 40C in some regions of North Korea since late July.
The North Korean government has called on its people to wage an "all-out battle" against a record heatwave as the country's already fragile crops face drought and the authorities struggle to respond.

The drought represented an "unprecedented natural disaster", reported the Rodong Sinmun newspaper, the mouthpiece of the ruling Workers' party. It urged citizens to "join the struggle" to save food production in a country that is no stranger to famine. Temperatures have reached more than 40C (104F) in some regions since late July and there have been sporadic reports of deaths from the heat.

"This high-temperature phenomenon is the largest, unprecedented natural disaster, but not an obstacle we cannot overcome," a commentary in Rodong Sinmun said. "Extreme high temperatures and droughts have begun affecting farming crops, including rice and corn. We should muster all our power and capacity to fight high temperatures and droughts."

Comment: The Guardian is well known for peddling the much discredited theory of Globull Warming and so it's expected that the main thrust of their story would be that the heat is to blame for this natural disaster, but it should be borne in mind that it's probably not the 'heat' that has killed the cattle and crops, but the drought.

Comment: Record breaking drought conditions all over the world are making the headlines this year, meanwhile so are stories of torrential rains causing dams to burst:
