Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: Record heat 2018 exaggerated and here's why

Extreme temps in Europe
© YouTube/Adapt 2030 (screen capture)
With the media over the last week screaming the world is frying and scaring the Europeans saying it would be over 50C which is over 125F this all turned out to be false. The hottest in Spain was 46C at one location with a host of others at 45C and everything else below that, and those were only 2pm day time temps, it got cool in the evenings to the high 80F range or 28-30C.

Global temperatures are registering 0.32C above the 30 year average so in my opinion it is a full push to control the narrative and keep the CO2 myth going as global crop yields decline and food prices rise. Powers that be don't want you to know that this is a 20 year event of cooling, you may panic and pull your funds out of the banks and markets. The mis-truths will be pushed until the end.

New shallow 6.2 magnitude earthquake hits Indonesia's Lombok as death toll from first tremor tops 300

Latest quake of magnitude 6.2 reportedly collapses buildings as search in rubble continues following Sunday's disaster

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 hit Indonesia's Lombok island on Thursday, less than a week after a 6.9-magnitude tremor that is believed to have killed more than 300 people.

Thursday's earthquake struck just after midday, sending panicked residents into the streets. According to information from Indonesia's meteorology agency the epicentre of the quake was 6km north-west of the island with a depth of 12 meters.

Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the spokesman for the national disaster agency, said that there was "public panic" on Thursday as people ran from their homes as they felt the latest tremor. "The public are still traumatised by the quake before," he said. Initial footage posted by Sutopo on Twiter showed indications of further damage to buildings and power lines.

The death toll for Sunday's earthquake is still climbing and unclear. Officials and organisations including the military, the governor of the province that includes Lombok, the national search and rescue agency and the regent of North Lombok have issued different death tolls, ranging from 226 to 381.

The government-run news agency Antara put the death toll for Sunday's tremor at 347. The number of the dead may still climb higher, as rescuers work to free people trapped in the rubble.

Australia's most populous state suffering worst drought in more than 50 years

Australia drought
© David Gray/ReutersSome farmers have been forced to shoot livestock as grazeable land and crops become increasingly scarce
Australia's most populous state is now "100 percent" in drought following the most intense dry spell in more than 50 years.

New South Wales officials released figures on Wednesday showing that every part of the state is affected, with almost one-quarter classified as being in "intense drought".

Less than 10 millimetres of rainfall has been recorded in the 800,000-square kilometre state over the past month.

"There isn't a person in the state that isn't hoping to see some rain for our farmers and regional communities," Niall Blair, minister for primary industries, said in a statement.

Dry conditions are expected to continue for the next three months.

Farmers are among the hardest hit by the drought, which is the driest and most widespread in the state since 1965.

Comment: Farmers around the world are facing an endless torrent of extreme weather, from brutal cold and record breaking rainfall that delay planting, devastating drought that lead to lower yield, or destructive hail and early frost that completely decimate the crop: As more crops fail the likelihood of food price rises invariably increases. It is always best to be prepared. See also: And do have a listen to the SOTT Talk Radio show that was devoted to this subject:

Toronto inundated with unbelievably heavy rain and flash floods

Toronto Flash Floods
Residents in Toronto are sloshing through the aftermath of a heavy rain storm that caused flash flooding in portions of the city, submerging several vehicles and forcing road closures.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement ahead of the summer storm, warning of the potential for 50 to 100 millimetres of rain Tuesday evening.

According to a preliminary weather summary issued by Environment Canada on Wednesday after 12:30 a.m., the heaviest rain hit Highways 400 and 401, the area near Allen Road, the downtown core and the Toronto Islands.

Comment: Toronto's topography is full of hills and valleys that were carved out during the last ice-age, and a number of tributaries run through the city that empty into Lake Ontario. And because it's only 76 metres above sea level, this essentially means Toronto acts as a catch-basin of sorts. As we continue to see more extreme weather and 'sheets of rain' downpours, this could spell big trouble for the people who live in the largest and densest metropolitan area in all of Canada.

At least 5 killed by flooding in southern Algeria

Algeria flood
At least 5 people died after floods hit the province of Tamanrasset in southern Algeria last week.

Algeria Press Service (APS) reported on Sunday 05 August, 2018, that the victims died after they were swept away by flood waters in In Guezzam and Tin Zaouatine districts. Civil Protection were called on to rescue several people and one person is still missing. Crops, homes and roads were all reportedly damaged in the flooding.

A series of storms that began around 02 August brought several days of heavy rain causing flooding, particularly in southern areas of the province.

EU worst fruit and veg crisis for 40 years due to erratic seasons and extreme weather

Warning: when this precipitation translates into a soil moisture anomaly. Alert: when these two conditions are accompanied by an anomaly in the vegetation condition.
The European vegetable processing sector raised concerns last month about potential losses to crop quantity and quality as a result of the very hot summer and prolonged drought conditions in all leading European production regions. Today, these regions have been affected by exceptional weather conditions, where crop evaporation levels have been exceptionally high, many watercourses have run dry, and extraction of irrigation water has frequently been restricted.

With the hot and dry weather continuing throughout July across most parts of the continent, vegetables have continued to suffer and crop yields have fallen sharply. Today the situation for vegetable growers and processors is the most serious that has been experienced in the last forty years, according to the European Association of Fruit and Vegetable Processors (PROFEL).

In addition, 2018 is the third year in a row that the sector has faced serious weather-related issues, exposing the vulnerability of European vegetable growers and processors to changing European weather patterns.

Comment: Spring planting was delayed by frosts and relentless rainfall, now summer is here and farmers are battling with drought causing low yield, and hail so big it decimates crops. And as the changes to weather patterns affect even larger areas and with successive years, prices are rocketing, there's food shortages across the board, and it's set to get even worse: And while some areas suffer through extreme drought, other areas are inundated by torrential rain - and some get both:

North America's first EF4 tornado of 2018 has been confirmed, but it wasn't in the United States. Environment Canada said an EF4 tornado touched down last Friday in Manitoba, Canada.

The U.S. averages the most tornadoes in a given year, with 1,253 twisters occurring in the country annually, according to NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).

Canada is a distant second, averaging about 100 tornadoes per year, NCEI also noted. Parts of southern Canada - particularly from the prairie provinces to southern Ontario and southern Québec - are most prone to tornadoes.

The strongest tornado to ever touch down in Canada was an F5 twister in Elie, Manitoba, on June 22, 2007.

Last Friday's EF4 tornado killed a 77-year-old man as it tore through the Alonsa, Silver Ridge and Margaret Bruce Beach areas of western Manitoba during the evening hours.

No injuries were reported after a car fell into a sinkhole in Toronto's Weston neighbourhood early Tuesday morning.

Toronto police say they were first alerted to a watermain break on Pine Street, just south of Lawrence Avenue, at around 4 a.m.

A few hours later, police say they received calls from concerned residents who said the water rushing from the watermain break had created a sinkhole.

Though it's not clear when the car drove into the hole, police say it has since been removed with the help of Toronto Fire Services.
