Most Americans see border crisis as 'invasion' - poll

Nearly two-thirds of US voters see the record influx of illegal aliens crossing the nation's southern border as not just a crisis, but an "invasion," a new Rasmussen Reports poll has found.

The survey released on Monday shows that 65% of voters believe their country is being invaded. A majority of respondents in every demographic category - including 73% of Hispanics, 74% of blacks, 63% of women, 55% of Democrats, 80% of Republicans, and 70% of voters under age 40 - agreed with the statement that it's 'very accurate' or 'somewhat accurate' to call the flood of illegal migrant crossings an invasion. Just 15% of US adults believe that it's 'not at all accurate'.

Even more voters, 72%, believe the situation at the border is a "crisis." Similarly, 70% of Americans, including 63% of Democrats, see border security as a vital national security interest, the poll shows.

The nationwide survey of 1,044 likely US voters comes at a time when the border crisis is weighing on President Joe Biden's approval rating as he campaigns for reelection later this year. A Monmouth University poll released last month showed that just 26% of US adults approve of Biden's immigration policies, while his overall approval rating dropped to a record low of 34%.

United, Alaska Airlines find loose hardware on door plugs on several Boeing 737 Max 9 planes

plane door
United Airlines and Alaska Airlines say they found loose hardware on door plugs on several of their grounded Boeing 737 Max 9 planes, days after a door plug blew off an Alaska Airlines plane while it was in-flight.

"Since we began preliminary inspections on Saturday, we have found instances that appear to relate to installation issues in the door plug - for example, bolts that needed additional tightening," United said in a statement to CBS News."These findings will be remedied by our Tech Ops team to safely return the aircraft to service."

Alaska Airlines said in a statement Monday night that, "As our maintenance technicians began preparing our 737-9 MAX fleet for inspections, they accessed the area in question. Initial reports from our technicians indicate some loose hardware was visible on some aircraft. When we are able to proceed with the formal inspection process, all aircraft will be thoroughly inspected in accordance with detailed instructions provided by the FAA in consultation with Boeing."

Best of the Web: Fraud: Academic celebrity Neri Oxman plagiarized from Wikipedia, scholars, a textbook, and other sources without any attribution

Neri Oxman

Neri Oxman, a former MIT professor and celebrity within the world of academia, stole sentences and whole paragraphs from Wikipedia, other scholars, and technical documents in her academic writing, Business Insider has found.

Oxman is married to billionaire Pershing Square Capital Management founder Bill Ackman, who has been vociferously campaigning for numerous university presidents to resign over what he perceives as their mishandling of student protests related to Israel's war in Gaza. Ackman has termed plagiarism a "very serious" offense.

He used revelations unearthed by right-wing activists that Harvard president Claudine Gay had plagiarized dozens of times across the body of her academic work to underscore his calls for her resignation. Gay stepped down on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Business Insider identified four instances in which Oxman had lifted passages from other scholars' work in her doctoral dissertation, completed at MIT in 2010. Three of those were passages where she should have used quotation marks but did not, and one included language from another author without any citation. In a post on X, Oxman admitted the plagiarism, apologized, and said she would review the primary sources and request corrections as needed.

Why the US can't find enough troops to feed its imperial ambitions

The American military is facing a drop in recruitment and risks getting spread too thin in its drive to dominate the globe.

Amid hopes that the 2024 US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would lead to an uptick in troop strength, just the opposite has occurred, as military brass fear what messages a shrunken force will send to America's enemies.

Not since before World War II has the US fielded such a small military force, and not since World War II has the US military been spread so thin around the world.

Craig Murray: The meaning of Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein
© Rick Friedman/Rick Friedman Photography/Corbis via Getty ImagesBillionaire Jeffrey Epstein is seen in this photo taken in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Sept. 8, 2004.
The fascinating thing about what social media calls the Epstein "client list" is that not one of the people on it appears to be a client. I have seen nobody say "I knew Epstein because he managed my funds". Nor does there seem to be any allegation that people paid him for his services.

So what was happening?

We often fall into the trap of attempting to provide a description of what really happened, and then defending every lacuna, when all we really have to do is point out how completely nuts the official story really is. The maddest and most extreme conspiracy theory in the Skripal saga is the official story. I don't know precisely what was going down, but I know that it wasn't that.

Comment: The question of where Epstein's money came from is a question not asked often enough. The aforementioned security services of both Israel and the United States are likely a good place to start.

Musk's response to Wall Street Journal 'hit piece'

Elon Musk

The US news outlet claimed influential figures at the billionaire's companies were concerned about his illegal drug use

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk hit back at the Wall Street Journal in a post on his X platform (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, a day after the paper published a lengthy article detailing company executives' purported concerns over his use of illegal drugs.

Referring to an infamous 2018 interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, during which Musk smoked marijuana on camera, the Tesla tycoon explained: "after that one puff with Rogan, I agreed, at NASA's request, to do 3 years of random drug testing. Not even trace quantities were found of any drugs or alcohol."

"@WSJ is not fit to line a parrot cage for bird," he concluded, adding a "poop" emoji.

US national debt crisis is a $34 trillion 'boiling frog' scenario, warns JPMorgan

The US national debt is like a "boiling frog," a slow but certain threat to economic stability, according to analysts at JPMorgan.

A boiling frog is a situation where "people fail to act on a potential problem that grows over time, causing it to become more severe until it eventually bubbles over." It's a classic cautionary tale that might have been told a bit too late. Imagine a frog in a pot of water; if the water temperature rises slowly, the frog doesn't realize the mortal danger until it's too late. This metaphor is a fitting description of America's current debt scenario.

The national debt reached a new high of $34 trillion this month, following the decision to raise the U.S. debt ceiling last year to prevent a default. This level of debt is alarming, especially as it's predicted to keep escalating. The Congressional Budget Office paints a daunting picture, estimating that by the early 2030s, the country's obligatory spending and debt interest payments will surpass total government revenue.

Comment: It's likely that this could be surpassed much sooner, what with the US taxpayer funding the Nazi-aligned, warmongering welfare queens in Ukraine and Israel.

69% of Germans support farmer protests, Latvia and Lithuania's farmers begin their own demonstrations

FILE: Farmer protest, Berlin.
On Monday, January 8, thousands of German farmers blocked roads and took to the streets to protest against the cancellation of subsidies for diesel fuel.

A sociological survey conducted by the INSA institute for BILD revealed that 69% of Germany's residents support the farmers' protests. The approval rating for their actions remains high, despite the fact that the day before, every fifth respondent was affected by road closures.

Among voters of the "Alternative for Germany" party, 88% consider the demonstrations by agricultural workers to be justified, marking a record result among all parties. However, 22% of respondents opposed the roadblocks.

Comment: Meanwhile Germany's ruling government enjoys a 17% approval rating. These numbers are reminiscent of the Yellow Vest protests in France, which, for its 2-year-run, enjoyed a similar proportion of support from the public.

Latvia's public broadcaster Eng.LSM.lv reports:
Latvian, Lithuanian farmers build protest fire

A farmer protest has begun in Lithuania to demand an end to Russian grain transit and to support the struggling dairy farmers. Lithuanian farmers are also concerned about the government's plans to increase the areas of natural meadows at the expense of agricultural land, as well as increase excise duty on gas used in agriculture. Latvian farmers have joined, Latvian Television reported January 8.

These are basically the same suicidal 'green' policies across Europe.

Lithuanian farmers lit protest fires on the roadsides on Monday, January 8, and invited Latvian counterparts who have very similar problems to join the campaign.

Agricultural machinery and fires, to which clusters of people gather - a scene like this was seen on many of Lithuania's roadsides on Monday. In response, Latvian farmers also lit fires on Monday.

Farmers in the vicinity of Dobele municipality said that if Lithuania increases excise duty on gas, which is also used in the production of mineral fertilizers, the already expensive mineral fertilizers will be almost at gold price.

"Because we are from the border, what happens in Lithuania will affect us as well. The increase in the price of gas in Lithuania may have an impact on the price of nitrogen. We're concerned about what the price of nitrogen will be in the spring. The burden of bureaucracy is also high for us," said agronomist Anita Lešinska of the farming cooperative "Dāmnieki."

Like Lithuanian farmers, Latvians demand an end to imports of grain from Russia.

"Our ports are full of Russian grain, but we have a grain warehouse just across us, with 600 tons of grain standing, which has not been bought because right now no one accepts it," Lešinska noted.

Is this for fear of sanctions? With grain prices soaring, wasting good quality produce is criminal. It's also notable, because Europe is accepting contaminated, poor quality Ukrainian grain: Poland trucker's month-long blockade of Ukraine border continues following brief lifting

A fire was also lit a few kilometers away towards Penkule, on the farm "Māliņi".

"Mineral fertilizer costs very much and grains cost nothing. And it's getting to the point we can't make ends meet anymore," said Ainārs Miķelsons, the owner of the farmhouse Māliņi.
When he says 'grain costs nothing', one supposes he means that it is not profitable, or that in his region there's a glut, because elsewhere farmers are complaining of the cost.

The global food supply is already expected to suffer alarming shortages, any further attacks will only worsen what's up ahead:

The juggling act: 2024 may be a pivotal year for the globalists

chainsaw juggling
If you want to know if a society is on the verge of great and tumultuous change you need to ask two very important questions - Are the people angry? And, are the people hungry?

In the US (and in many parts of Europe) the people are indeed very angry, for different reasons depending on their political affiliations. On the other hand, they aren't hungry, at least not to the extent that they are desperate. This could very well change in 2024 given the confluence of events that are swirling as we enter the new year.

I continue to see 2024 as a nexus point of our era for a number of reasons. The globalist timeline for their "Great Reset" mentions 2030 as the prime year for total centralization. This is the year they plan to put their carbon controls in place, remove most oil and gas energy, bring in their digital currency framework, finalize their 15 Minute City programs, establish the IMF and BIS as the overseers of the global CBDC structure, launch their cashless society and integrate ESG related goals into every aspect of the economy.

Orthodox Jews riot in NYC synagogue following discovery of secret TUNNEL

synagogue riot
The wooden walls of the synagogue are pictured being ripped apart, in scenes the rabbi said were 'mind-boggling'
Wild scenes broke out on Monday at a synagogue in Brooklyn, after construction workers arrived to fill in an illegally-dug tunnel that was being used by young Orthodox Jewish men in an attempt to link the building to a nearby ritual bath.

The chaos erupted at the Chabad Lubavitch global headquarters in Crown Heights.

In December, the rabbi discovered youths had dug tunnels beneath the building to access another property on the same street.

It remains unclear why the young men are so attached to the property they were accessing illegally - they have for years been at loggerheads with the synagogue over who owns the main property, but the appeal of the ritual bath or mikvah is unclear.

Comment:

An important statement about the tunnels under a synagogue in Brooklyn, New York.

Walking a tightrope: Chabad's complicated relationship with Zionism.

Chabad lubavitch anti-Zionist Torah is a great danger to the Jewish community.

The synagogue where the tunnels are located belongs to the Chabad-Lubavitch community, a structure known for its support of Zionism and Israel.

In particular, Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis have secret agreements and complicated relations with Netanyahu and the Israeli state.

They are the community that supports Zionism the most in the Holy Land. In the past, they appeared to be anti-Zionism. Later, as a result of the information that emerged, it was revealed that they secretly supported Zionism.

"When I grew up in the 1970s," explains Chaim Rapoport, a British Chabad rabbi, author and scholar, "my friends to the Right - from Satmar or Brisk - would harass me by saying the Rebbe was a Zionist, whereas my friends from the Left would taunt me that the Rebbe was anti-Israel. Still today one hears both of these arguments. For me, as a Lubavitcher, I see the Rebbe as having espoused an extremely nuanced position, often walking a tightrope."

Chabad schools across the world do not mark Independence Day. They are adamantly opposed to the national anthem, "Hatikvah." Even waving an Israeli flag or having one in a Chabad center is frowned upon. Nonetheless, the strong support Chabad offers Israeli soldiers is well documented, as are the meetings of numerous Israeli heads of state with the late Chabad leader at his office in Brooklyn, who sought his counsel on internal and even security affairs.

"Throughout the years, the Rebbe received correspondence from, and was frequently visited by, senior officials in the Israeli government and Israel Defense Forces," Rapoport writes in his book The Afterlife of Scholarship. "The visitors included five of Israel's prime ministers - Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu - [who] visited the Rebbe in Brooklyn at various stages of their careers. In addition, there was a steady stream of visiting military and intelligence leaders, as well as ministers and Knesset members from the entire gamut of the Israeli political spectrum."

In fact, the Rebbe's support was not just by offering advice and blessings. As Rapoport tells The Jerusalem Post, "the Rebbe once gave $10,000 to Rabin as a contribution for building the land. So he recognized that the State of Israel was good for the Jews, and that it provided a homeland for our people in the Holy Land." SO WHY the opposition to the state's Independence Day, national anthem and flag?

"The Rebbe once met with yeshiva students in the 1960s, and they asked him point-blank if he was a Zionist," says Rapoport. "He responded: 'If Israel is a state of Jews, then I am not a Zionist, but if it's a Jewish state, then I am a Zionist.'" "The Rebbe had a problem with the government of the State of Israel," Rapoport explains, "because it was a secular government and excluded - and, in some cases, violated - Jewish law. So any religious Jew will, by definition, not be able to identify with a government, particularly in the Holy Land, which is not in keeping with the Torah."

Chabad Lubavitch has definitely always supported Zionism and Israel. Their opposition to Israel and Zionism in the past is related to Israel being secular.

Anti-Zionist Jews have always kept their distance from the Chabad Lubavitch community.

Chabad Lubavitch is not actually anti-Zionist. Pretending to be anti-Zionist is just a scam for their own political gain Zionist Israel Chabad If it becomes a state as Lubavitch wants, it will protect Israel more from the Zionists.
