Biden 'election' brings with him a wave of dangerously validated celebrities spewing violent rhetoric

Joe Biden winning the election has done nothing to stop the violent talk from liberal celebrities. In fact, it actually appears to have made things worse as Donald Trump's loss has seemingly validated their wildest views.

For four years, the sky has been falling for celebrities. While their lives have remained relatively unchanged based on who sits in the White House, that has not stopped a constant barrage of attacks against President Donald Trump, his supporters and anyone else who doubts Joe Biden and his horde of Democrat pals are the answer to all the world's problems.

One would think Biden's victory on election day would have been a moment to tone down the rhetoric and rejoice the victory in their fantasy battle against a man they just can't stop accusing of being a misogynist, homophobe, white supremacist or worse. Even Biden has offered hollow calls for unification as Trump's days in the White House wind down.

Signature-gathering effort to recall Gavin Newsom passes the halfway mark

California Governor Gavin Newsom is facing a possible recall election as the state's residents experience a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, along with a depressed economy.

The only other time a California governor faced a recall, was in 2003 when Gray Davis was voted out and replaced by Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. At first glance, the situation now is very different from 2003. Davis had narrowly won re-election yet was largely unpopular. By comparison, Newsom was elected in 2018 by the largest margin in California since 1950. The situations are similar in that the 2020 recall campaign has started to tap into a vein of discontent that Californians were also feeling in 2003.

Mainland Europe-bound truck drivers are stuck in the United Kingdom amid borders shut down by France over the new coronavirus strain, including for cargo vehicles, unlike during the first wave in the spring, Polish Minister of Infrastucture Andrzej Adamczyk said on Tuesday.

"The situation today is very different. For trucks returning from the United Kingdom to the continent, the French border is closed, i.e. the European Union border is closed. These trucks are not only from Poland and the UK, but also from Romania and Hungary", Adamczyk told the Polish Television.

California exodus so large it's projected to lose House seat and electoral vote for first time

Leaving California
An exodus sparked by high taxes, coronavirus lockdowns, and regulations has driven California's population growth rate to a record low, which is projected to cost the state a seat in Congress and an electoral vote.

"This is a real sea change in California, which used to be this state of pretty robust population growth," said Hans Johnson, a demographer at the Public Policy Institute of California, regarding the net migration loss, which has now occurred three years in a row. "It hasn't been for some time now. But it's now gotten to the point where the state is essentially not growing population-wise at all."

According to a population estimate this week, 135,600 more people fled the Golden State than moved there, which marks only the 12th time since 1900 that the state saw a net migration loss. It is the third-largest drop recorded.

Ridiculous 'Veganuary': 'Go vegan in January to avoid future Coronavirus pandemics'

veganuary
According to a group of ageing rockers, green organisations, Vegan food sellers and mostly B-grade actors, going Vegan will not only save the planet from climate change, it will also reduce the risk of future pandemics like Covid-19.

Comment: "Protecting the planet" is the "Climate Emergency" is "sustainability" is being vegan is "staying safe" is "building back better" is "The Great Reset" is "The Green New Deal" is being "pro-vaccine" - is accepting soft totalitarianism and thinking that you are a good person for it.

Corona mask mandates: Science or political dogma?

Masks
© howstuffworks
When it comes to masks, U.S. government officials have more waffles than a pancake house. Back in March we were told not to wear masks. Then, starting in April, they do an about-face and for the past several months have been telling us to wear surgical and even cloth masks.

But they insisted that the masks won't protect the people wearing them from COVID-19 — only the people they come in contact with. "My mask protects you, your mask protects me" was the mantra. This is because respiratory droplets are supposed to be the primary mode of viral transmission which the masks supposedly block. This is mainly why surgeons wear masks in operating rooms — they prevent droplets from their nose and mouth from going into a patient's open wound. Now, since November, we are being told that masks protect both the wearer as well as the people they come in contact with.

For years the scientific literature has demonstrated that the primary mode of transmission for respiratory viruses are fine aerosol particles that can remain suspended in the fluid air for up to 16 hours and can travel much further distances than 6 ft. Back in July, more than 200 scientists asked public-health agencies in a letter published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases to recognize these facts.

Apple quietly closes retail stores in California as coronavirus cases surge

With less than a week until Christmas, Cupertino-based Apple quietly closed all of their retail stores in California as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations continue to surge in the state.

According to their website, customers with pre-scheduled appointments will still be able to stop in for things like in-store pickup, Genius Bar appointments, and personal shopping experiences through Dec. 22.

It's a bold move for the iPhone maker to close dozens of its stores, as the holiday season historically drives their highest sales of the year.

Customers looking to make a purchase at an Apple Store are still able to do so online, although if you're looking to avoid waiting for the shipment to arrive, you're likely better off shopping at an Apple-authorized retailer, such as Costco, Target, or Best Buy.

KTVU has reached out to Apple for comment but has not yet heard back.

Multiple rockets have targeted the Iraqi capital's heavily fortified Green Zone on Sunday evening. The US embassy's C-RAM air defense systems were engaged to intercept the missile attack, which it said resulted in no casualties.

Footage published on the social media show the night skies over Baghdad illuminated with flashes of light as rapid-fire guns of the US C-RAM systems were used to intercept the incoming projectiles. At least three rockets were targeting the American diplomatic missions, the Iraqi security officials told AP, saying they were launched by an "outlaw group."

Israeli colonists attempt to disrupt prayers in the oldest Christian monastery in Palestine

israeli settlers dirupt christian prayers
Hundreds of illegal Israeli colonialist settlers gathered, Thursday, near Mar Saba (St. Saba) Christian Monastery, east of the Palestinian city of Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem, and attempted to disrupt prayers.

Hundreds of colonists descended to the ancient holy site, the older Christian Monastery in occupied Palestine, during the celebration of the feast of St. Saba, eyewitnesses said.

They added that the Israeli assailants then attempted to intimidate the monks who gathered there to pray, in a deliberate attempt to stop the prayers.

Your credit score should be based on your web history, IMF says

With more services than ever collecting your data, it's easy to start asking why anyone should care about most of it. This is why. Because people start having ideas like this.

In a new blog post for the International Monetary Fund, four researchers presented their findings from a working paper that examines the current relationship between finance and tech as well as its potential future. Gazing into their crystal ball, the researchers see the possibility of using the data from your browsing, search, and purchase history to create a more accurate mechanism for determining the credit rating of an individual or business. They believe that this approach could result in greater lending to borrowers who would potentially be denied by traditional financial institutions.

At its heart, the paper is trying to wrestle with the dawning notion that the institutional banking system is facing a serious threat from tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Apple. The researchers identify two key areas in which this is true: Tech companies have greater access to soft-information, and messaging platforms can take the place of the physical locations that banks rely on for meeting with customers.

The concept of using your web history to inform credit ratings is framed around the notion that lenders rely on hard-data that might obscure the worthiness of a borrower or paint an unnecessarily dire picture during hard times. Citing soft-data points like "the type of browser and hardware used to access the internet, the history of online searches and purchases" that could be incorporated into evaluating a borrower, the researchers believe that when a lender has a more intimate relationship with the potential client's history, they might be more willing to cut them some slack.
