Lockdowns will be seen as the "single biggest public health mistake" in history, a Stanford University professor has warned.

Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine, told The Telegraph's Planet Normal podcast, which you can listen to using the audio player above, that there have been "enormous collateral consequences" of keeping people inside and isolating them from their loved-ones during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The epidemiologist believes many scientists have clung onto the perceived effectiveness of lockdowns, and they "remain attached" to the idea despite the "failure of this strategy".

"I do think that future historians will look back on this and say this was the single biggest public health mistake, possibly of all history, in terms of the scope of the harm that it's caused," said Prof Bhattacharya.

Governor Abbot: Texas to build its own border barriers

Texas Governor Greg Abbott told Breitbart Texas the State will immediately begin building border barriers in areas where migrants can easily cross the Rio Grande border with Mexico. The barriers will, in part, enable state law enforcement to arrest migrants for violations of state law.

Governor Abbott told Breitbart Texas shortly before Thursday's border summit in Del Rio, Texas:
"The influx across the border is out of control, and the Biden Administration has shown that is not going to step up and do its job. And amidst reports of even more people coming in across the border, we know we have to step up and do more."
Abbott said Texas will immediately begin construction of border barriers in areas like Del Rio where migrants can easily cross unsecured sections of the border with Mexico. The governor picked Del Rio for the Border Summit due to the massive increases in illegal border crossings in this region. Del Rio Sector agents apprehended 27,890 migrants — a 1,118 percent increase over the May 2020 report of 2,289, Breitbart Texas reported on Thursday. He said they are hearing from local residents and elected and law enforcement officials that they are seeing things they have never seen before:
"The reason why we are here (Del Rio) is because of the massive increase concentrated in the Rio Grande Valley. Now, you know we're upstream from the Rio Grande Valley in the Del Rio Sector and the Del Rio sector is suffering from some of the largest increases.

"They're seeing a lot of very bad dangerous people come across the border. People that they are afraid of encountering, people who are causing damage to their fences, their livestock, their crops, their neighborhoods, and their homes. Bad things are happening around here, and so they need help from the state to help them address this exploding crisis."

Comment: At least someone has America's best interests front and center and is willing and able to define an effective counter-strategy with common sense, practicality and determination. Hopefully other governors will answer the call.

As much as half of the hundreds of billions of dollars that the U.S. government distributed as unemployment benefits over the past year may have been stolen by foreign crime groups — some of them state-backed — and taken out of the country, a report revealed Thursday.

Blake Hall, the CEO of fraud-prevention service ID.me, told Axios that more than $400 billion of unemployment money may have been lost of fraud, and as much as half of all unemployment monies might have been stolen.

Although states have started cracking down on fraud, it may be too late, the report said.

Haywood Talcove, the CEO of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, told Axios that at least 70% of the money that was stolen ended up with criminal syndicates in China, Nigeria, and Russia.

"These groups are definitely backed by the state," Talcove said. He added that local street gangs also played a role in the unemployment benefits fraud scheme.

Antrim County attorney DePerno releases BOMBSHELL report - claims County voting machines were remotely logged into - decertifies entire Antrim election

Michigan Attorney Matthew DePerno released new information from his investigation into the Antrim County 2020 election.

In May DePerno broke the news that the Antrim County tabulator machines can be reopened after the election. The machines can then run more ballots through the tabulator, print off a new tabulator tape with new ballots, and then backdate that tape to November 3rd.

On Tuesday Matt DePerno dropped another bomb that he says should disqualify the 2020 Antrim County election.

According to DePerno the Dominion Voting Machines were accessed from the outside and remotely logged into after the election.

DePerno contends this should decertify the county's election results.
And Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson should resign or be removed from office after alleging remote access was not possible with the Michigan machines.

Comment: This is further proof that confirms the Dominion voting system was rigged so that PTB puppet Joe Biden will win the elections. It was not a computer glitch or human error. It was done on purpose.

Last year after the elections, Attorney Matthew Deperno released findings from their forensic examination on 16 Dominion Voting machines in Antrim County, MI where thousands of votes flipped from President Trump to Joe Biden on November 3, 2020.

US state-run outfits RFE/RL and Voice of America are refusing to comply with Russian legislation on the work of foreign agents within the country, the government's media regulator Roskomnadzor revealed on Friday morning.

In a statement published on the agency's website, Roskomnadzor said Russian law describes restrictions and regulations "in detail" in order to prevent "ambiguous interpretations," and there could be serious penalties for non-compliance.

"American media outlets Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty [RFE/RL], which are listed as foreign agents, are defiantly refusing to comply with the law in full," the regulator said. "In particular, Voice of America is yet to establish a Russian legal entity, and Radio Liberty is systematically failing to comply with the requirement to mark the materials it posts."

Florida's state Board of Education banned "critical race theory" from public school classrooms Thursday, adopting new rules it said would shield schoolchildren from curricula that could "distort historical events."

Florida's move was widely expected as a national debate intensifies about how race should be used as a lens in classrooms to examine the country's tumultuous history.

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared by video at the top of the board's meeting, urging its members, many of whom he appointed, to adopt the new measures he asserted would serve students with the facts rather than "trying to indoctrinate them with ideology."

The Black Lives Matter movement has helped bring contentious discussions about race to the forefront of American discourse, and classrooms have become a battleground. More than 350,000 people in Ethiopia's Tigray are suffering famine conditions, with millions more at risk, according to an analysis by United Nations agencies and aid groups that blamed conflict for the worst catastrophic food crisis in a decade.

"There is famine now in Tigray," U.N. aid chief Mark Lowcock said on Thursday after the release of the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) analysis, which the IPC noted has not been endorsed by the Ethiopian government.

"The number of people in famine conditions ... is higher than anywhere in the world, at any moment since a quarter million Somalis lost their lives in 2011," Lowcock said.

Most of the 5.5 million people in Tigray need food aid. Fighting broke out in the region in November between government troops and the region's former ruling party, the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). Troops from neighboring Eritrea also entered the conflict to support the Ethiopian government.

Consumer prices jump 5% in May, fastest pace since the summer of 2008

Consumer prices for May accelerated at their fastest pace in nearly 13 years as inflation pressures continued to build in the U.S. economy, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

The consumer price index, which represents a basket including food, energy, groceries, housing costs and sales across a spectrum of goods, rose 5% from a year earlier. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting a gain of 4.7%.

The reading represented the biggest CPI gain since the 5.3% increase in August 2008, just before the financial crisis sent the U.S. spiraling into the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Comment: The Boy Scout's motto, "be prepared" applies here. While an economic crash isn't a forgone conclusion, it's much better to prepare for the worst in the long run.

Russia's Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine has demonstrated 94.3 percent efficacy and a "high safety profile" in Bahrain, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.

The ministry conducted a study that included more than 5,000 citizens and residents in Bahrain between February 2021 to April 2021, in accordance with the World Health Organization guidelines to test the effectiveness of the Sputnik vaccine.

"The results on the ground showed a better percentage of the results achieved during clinical trials of vaccination," according to the statement.

Comment: It's certainly interesting that the Sputnik V and Sinovax vaccines don't appear to have been dogged by serious, and even deadly, side effects, as Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca have. With the Western media looking to tarnish any venture by Russia and China at every turn, is this because by comparison they aren't suffering the same issues as the Western offering?
