American internet giants still refusing to remove 10,000 posts including child porn & terrorist materials, Russian regulator says

Moscow's media watchdog has warned that some of the world's largest tech companies are continuing to host shocking illegal content online, despite thousands of requests from officials in the country to take down prohibited posts.

Roskomnadzor, the state internet regulator, issued an audit of illegal activity on Friday. Among the posts it takes issue with is material that features "child pornography, suicidal and pro-narcotic content, the involvement of minors in illegal activities and illegal mass events," as well as "materials from extremist and terrorist organizations."

California-based Twitter has seen its service speed slowed down for not complying with the demands to remove posts, with officials warning it could face a total ban in the country. Since then, the number of prohibited materials flagged on the platform has reportedly dropped from more than 6,000, although 490 pieces of illegal content remain on the site, the regulator says.

Facebook, and its subsidiary photo-sharing site Instagram, are said to have ignored more than 3,700 takedown requests since 2015, while Silicon Valley giant Google, which owns YouTube, is still being urged to remove 5,200 items.

While alarm bells about conflict with Russia are constantly ringing in the Western press, the public, it turns out, may not be listening to them, with new research concluding the EU's citizens have a less hostile view of Moscow.

The report, published by the Berlin-based European Council on Foreign Relations, which was set up with funds donated by multibillionaire George Soros, asked more than 17,000 respondents across 12 EU member states for their views on ties with foreign nations.

A majority of those who answered said that they took a positive view of Russia, with 7% describing it as "an ally" that "shares our interests and values," and a further 35% saying the country is "a necessary partner" that "we must strategically cooperate with." Only a total of 35% said they felt that it is a "rival" or an "adversary."

We were treated to what at first appeared to be rare mea culpa this week as reporters read the Department of the Interior inspector general's report on the riots and police response in Lafayette Park last summer and appeared shocked to find that the Park Police and Attorney General Bill Barr and even President Donald Trump were telling the truth when they said the crowd was going to be dispersed before police knew the president was thinking of coming down there.

It's rare to see what looks remotely like self-reflection in our self-obsessed corporate media, so it would be nice to nod and smile and move on, but is it an acknowledgement of error — or is it even basic self-reflection — if the sin isn't addressed all all? As in, if the problem isn't admitted? Because on June 1, 2020 (and what followed), corporate media didn't simply get it wrong, they flagrantly and shamelessly lied to Americans in order to hurt the president.

In order to withstand attacks, you'll need to be armed with an understanding of the ideas in play, and the courage to stand up to bullies. I hope my story can help give you both.

My story began in 2010, when my husband and I founded a nonprofit organization that trains people around the world who are providing care for survivors of trauma. We were pleased with the success of our organization for the first several years, but around 2016, we noticed a change.

Comment: The sensible would be tempted to throw an eye-roll and move on from what appears to be a product of the 'woke' fringe, but when such a piece runs in a supposedly prestigious publication as Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, it's cause for alarm. Society is losing its most basic thinking skills.


A research article published last month in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association describes "whiteness" as a "malignant, parasitic-like condition" that makes the host person "voracious, insatiable, and perverse," warning that there is "not yet a permanent cure."

"On Having Whiteness," the apparently peer-reviewed article written by Dr. Donald Moss, a white male and a current faculty member of both the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis discussed, went viral on social media this week once it was discovered.

The article's abstract says the "condition" of "whiteness," after one acquires it, gives the person a "malignant, parasitic-like condition to which 'white' people have a particular susceptibility."

Comment: Dr. Moss has thrown his lot in with other dodgy race baiters dressed up as researchers, such as Robin DiAngelo.

Israeli troops shot and killed three Palestinians, including two security officers, in a shootout that erupted in the occupied West Bank town of Jenin during what appeared to be an Israeli arrest raid overnight, Palestinian officials said Thursday.

Israel and the Palestinian Authority coordinate security operations in the territory against Hamas and other militant groups seen as a threat to both of them. The coordination has contributed to mounting anger at the PA among Palestinians.

A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned what he called a "dangerous Israeli escalation," saying the three were killed by Israeli special forces who disguise[d] themselves as Arabs during arrest raids. The spokesman, Nabil Abu Rdeneh, called on the international community and the United States to intervene to halt such attacks.

Comment: Israel acts with impunity in the West Bank regardless of the state of the 'security agreements' it has with the Abbas' Palestinian Authority.

Gavin Newsom's attempt to dodge a recall bid is shaping up to be a nice glimpse at how power protects power.

About a month after the Democratic governor was caught breaking his own COVID restrictions to dine with lobbyists at a Michelin-star restaurant, the pained pleadings of a small business owner went viral. Remember this video?

That's Angela Marsden, owner of the Pineapple Hill Saloon in Sherman Oaks. The regulations Newsom flouted in private were the source of her misery, which was not merely on her own behalf, but also on behalf of her suffering employees. Meanwhile, an NBC series was shooting next door.

She was not alone. As the New York Times reported in April, "Nearly 40,000 small businesses had closed in the state by September — more than in any other state since the pandemic began, according to a report compiled by Yelp. Half had shut permanently, according to the report, far more than the 6,400 that had closed permanently in New York."

The post-pandemic lockdown autopsy gets worse for Newsom.

Covid-19 has mutated significantly, and the virus is now much harder to treat than it used to be. That's according to the head of Moscow's Kommunarka Hospital, which last year became the city's main coronavirus treatment facility.

Speaking to Moscow radio station Ekho Moskvy on Thursday, the hospital's chief physician, Denis Protsenko, who became a household name in 2020 due to his role at the forefront of the country's battle against Covid-19, explained that it has become much harder to treat ill patients:
"There is a feeling that the virus is changing. The proven methods of treatment for hyperinflammation or, as we call it, cytokine storms, are often failing. This makes us think that the virus has also changed and has mutated in this year and a half."
He encouraged people to get vaccinated against the disease.

According to Protsenko, the Kommunarka hospital is now filled with a large number of elderly patients, as well as people who are overweight or diabetic. Furthermore, collective immunity in the capital is still under 50%, he said.

Comment: The mutating virus is setting the timetable, thus vaccine providers must beat the clock to sell their product to the public.

Poll: Michigan 'Generic Republican' Beats Gretchen Whitmer 52%-41%

A poll released Wednesday by Cygnal found a majority of Michigan likely 2022 general election voters would oust Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) in favor of a "generic Republican."

The survey of 600 likely voters conducted June 2-6 found Whitmer has an approval rating of 41.1 percent, while 53.7 percent disapprove of the job she is doing. Just 40.8 percent said Whitmer deserves to be reelected, while 55.5 percent said it is "time for someone new."

As for that "someone new," respondents would vote for a "generic Republican" over Whitmer, 52.2 percent to 40.8 percent. The survey did not test individual declared or potential candidates against the incumbent governor.

Comment: Whitmer has no one to blame but herself.

Building collapse in South Korea kills 9, injures 8

A five-story building being demolished in southern South Korea collapsed on Wednesday, sending debris falling on a bus and killing nine people on board, officials said.

Concrete from the collapsed building in the southern city of Gwangju fell on the bus carrying 17 people which had stopped on a nearby street, the National Fire Agency said.

Emergency officers dispatched to the site rescued eight people from the bus, all seriously injured, before discovering the nine bodies, the agency said in a statement.

Fire officer Kim Seok-sun said in a televised briefing from the site that all workers at the building site had evacuated before its collapse. He said some of the workers told investigators that they had closed a pedestrian walkway near the building before the collapse.
