isis terrorist videos cell phone youtube
People who watch terrorist propaganda online could face up to 15 years behind bars, Home Secretary Amber Rudd has announced, in a move designed to tighten laws tackling radicalization.

Speaking at the Conservative Party Conference on Tuesday, Rudd said those found guilty of repeatedly viewing extremist material such as bomb-making instructions and far-right propaganda could now face lengthy jail terms.

The new law will extend an existing ban on downloading and storing the content on a PC to repeatedly watching it on sites like YouTube.

Real threat to American democracy comes from Deep State, not Russia

black Russian soldiers
The latest example of anti-Russian lunacy emanating from the US power structure concerns a couple hundred Russian bots/trolls that Twitter supposedly uncovered in their investigation of...ughh...I'm not sure exactly what. And who was behind this investigation? And why exactly is Twitter concerned with a few hundred Russian bots/trolls given the millions of trolls and bots that frequent Twitter on a daily basis? Maybe because someone in the US Government wants them to be concerned with this issue? I don't know really. I'm just glad Twitter got to the bottom of this one. We finally have an explanation for why Hillary lost!

Last week what was the Russian Government's grave atrocity? Oh yes, the Russian Government allegedly took out a few hundred thousand dollars worth of BLM ads on Facebook to "sow racial discord" in America? Oh, Putin's bringing out the big guns now! A couple hundred thousand dollars worth of ads! Lordy, that's a hell of an investment for a foreign government worth trillions. If I'm being perfectly honest, these numbers don't really add up do they? In fact the numbers are so low they almost make you wonder if they're not the doing of the Russian Government at all, but the doing of some other entity or organization trying to make it look like the Russian Government is trying to undermine American democracy, but which doesn't really have the means or the will to adequately simulate the actual activities of a foreign government. Like, remember when Trump had all those business ties to Russia but really didn't, the US Deep State just made it look like he did by commissioning the creation of a "piss dossier" with no basis in reality, and the MSM naturally ran with it, because the MSM is essentially an arm of the Deep State at this point?

Russia's #1 news anchor: The decline of freedom of speech in America

Dmitry Kiselyov
Kiselyov is the most popular newsman in Russia, sort of the like the Russian Cronkite
Another excellent Kiselyov spoken-word essay. Full transcript follows below.

In this one he ruminates on the attacks being made on Russian TV and news companies in the US - RT and Sputnik.

We follow the practice of putting the key ideas in the transcript in bold, but in this case, we would have to bold out practically everthing, because his essays are so dense with carefully crafted phrases and ideas.

In this one, he also features Margarita Simonyan, the head of RT, and Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the foreign ministry, both noted for their sharp tongues.

Simonyan is particularly good in this one:
"It's as if we drink the blood of Christian babies, then give some to President Putin, or whatever."
Russia is agog at the political weirdness coming out of the US, and understands it very well for what it is.

This one is worth watching - it puts things in proper perspective:

ISIS claiming responsibility for Marseille knife attack that killed two - Update

ISIS knife attack Marseille

The Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the Marseille knife attack which left two women dead, Reuters reports, citing the IS affiliated Amaq news agency.

The Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the deadly knife attack which left two women dead at a train station in Marseille Sunday. The message, via its propaganda channel, allegedly says the attack was staged in retaliation against the US-led Coalition countries which are fighting against the terrorist group in Syria and Iraq.

Comment:

Update: Suspect in knife attack had been previously arrested two days before in Lyon.
The main suspect in a Marseille attack in which two women were stabbed to death had been arrested and let go in Lyon two days before the assault at the train station, authorities said. His details turned out to be tied to seven IDs in criminal databases.

Last Friday, the man was detained in Lyon on suspicions of shoplifting, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said at a press conference Monday. He was nabbed at Lyon Part-Dieu shopping center after being accused of stealing a jacket, but was released the following day due to insufficient evidence.

In Lyon, the man showed a Tunisian passport issued in the name of 'Ahmed H.', born in 1987, according to Molins. During the arrest the suspect claimed he was divorced, unemployed and didn't have a permanent place to stay in Lyon.

Molins added the suspect was reported to the authorities seven times since 2005 under seven different identities that were added to criminal databases, but he wasn't known to anti-terrorist services.

Earlier, a source contributing to the police investigation told Reuters the man had eight aliases: "Each time he was stopped, he presented a different identity paper. That's why it's so difficult. At one moment, he says he was born in France, at another he says he was born in Algeria."

The investigation is currently underway to ensure the authenticity of the ID submitted in Lyon, which the Marseille suspected attacker didn't have on him at the time of the attack.

Russia's gold rush sets record reserves while pushing away from US dollar

The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has more than doubled the pace of gold purchases over the past decade, adding more than 1,250 tons to its gold reserves according to World Gold Council data.

In the second quarter alone, it accounted for 38 percent of all gold purchased by central banks. The gold rush has allowed the CBR to continue piling its reserves while abstaining from purchases of foreign currency (particularly, the US dollar) for more than two years.

"The sixth largest gold reserves in the world, they constitute 17 percent of the nation's wealth," said the report. It added that if buying continues at a similar pace, the full year increase in 2017 "could closely match" the 200 tons purchased annually in 2015 and 2016.

Looking under every rock: Mueller's team now researching Trump's pardon power

Mueller

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's top legal aide is researching what powers President Trump may have to pardon any of his associates caught up in the ongoing Russia investigation.

According to Bloomberg News, Michael Dreeben, deputy solicitor general and former Justice Department appeals lawyer, is researching past pardon cases to what limits might exist on Trump's ability to grant pre-emptive pardons to his associates. Dreeben is also tasked with making sure that Mueller's investigative moves are legally sound.

Trump has subtly hinted that he could pardon any associates ensnared in Mueller's investigation, which is generally looking into Russian interference in the presidential campaign. But Mueller has recently set his sights on two former Trump advisers: former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Mueller is reportedly investigative Manafort's and Flynn's business activities.

Comment: Trump has to hang on to every itsy bitsy piece of legal power he has at his disposal. Likewise, he has to be completely sure his feet are on solid ground and he is within the boundaries of his authority.

Britain is "exporting fear" to children trapped in Yemen's civil war as it continues to supply billions of pounds worth of arms to Saudi Arabia, Save the Children has warned.

The UK has earned at least ยฃ3.2 billion (US$4.24 billion) from selling missiles and equipment to the Saudi-led coalition during the ongoing war in Yemen, which escalated in March 2015 when Houthi rebels seized the capital, Sanaa.

British arms are believed to have been used in bombing schools and vital infrastructure, impeding aid access and fomenting a cholera epidemic. Some 10,000 people have died and 40,000 have been wounded during the conflict, according to UN figures.

Comment: Exporting 'fear'? Call it what it is: exporting death and destruction via war crimes. The UK will not make ยฃ3.2 billion by being nice to someone else's children.

French Parliament deems 'nobody is safe', votes in controversial anti-terrorism law

The French parliament has approved a new anti-terrorist bill, criticized by human rights activists as restrictive of civil liberties. Ahead of the vote, France's interior minister Gerard Collomb said that "nobody is safe" in the country as "it is still in a state of war."

The parliament's lower house, the National Assembly, passed the new legislation in the first reading. The new bill, which seeks to increase law enforcement powers in the fight against terrorism, was supported by 415 lawmakers, with 127 voting against it.

It extends the powers of the Interior Ministry, which will be able to set up security zones without the approval of a judge.
Inside the zones, the movement of people and vehicles can be restricted and searches can be conducted. Police will also be given wider powers to raid private property with judicial approval.

Electronic surveillance tags might be imposed on those regarded as a threat to national security, while officials will also have more power to close down places of worship deemed by intelligence agencies as inciting violence or justifying terrorism.

Comment: No matter what laws are passed, terror will not abate as long as it is nationally useful. False security that limits liberty is just one facet of authoritarianism.

Rhetoric explodes with 'nuclear clouds' and 'flames' as N. Korea saber-rattles 'suicidal' Japan

Kim and Abe

North Korea vowed to make "nuclear clouds" over Japan, which had called for more pressure on Pyongyang over its nuclear and missile programs. It has also said that in case of a nuclear war, Japan will be immediately "engulfed in flames."

The North described the behavior of the Japanese authorities, in asking the international community to exert "maximum pressure" on Pyongyang, as "little short of mad," North Korean state media, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), stated on Monday. The agency also accused Tokyo, and its ally Washington, of "straining the situation on the peninsula" by countering the actions of the communist state.

"Inciting tensions on the Korean peninsula is a suicidal deed that will bring nuclear clouds to the Japanese archipelago," KCNA said in its article. The agency also warned that if it comes to a nuclear war, "the Japanese archipelago will be engulfed in flames in a moment,"adding that it is "self-evident."

Earlier the communist North vowed to "sink" Japan, which is "no longer needed to exist near us," according to KCNA.

Comment: Having been the recipient of two nuclear explosions, courtesy USA, Japan is understandably hysterical finding itself in the cross-hairs, should either NK or the US make good on its verbal provocations.

U.S. sanctions pushes Venezuela further into Russia and China's arms

The White House recently slapped new sanctions on Venezuelan officials, banning them from entering the U.S.

That follows past, more general sanctions...

As well as rumors that, if true, could end up completely collapsing the South American country - sanctions on Venezuela's national oil company, PDVSA.

See, Venezuela is now on the brink of total collapse, and PDVSA looms large in this unfolding crisis.

The focus is the company's ability to pay its bond interest. Doing so is crucial, but prospects are grim.

Along with that goes the ability of the central government to administer an entire population and avoid the country descending into outright civil war.

And that's pushing the Venezuelan government right into Russian and Chinese hands.

Here's why...
