Escobar: Meet the New Resource-based Global Reserve Currency

A new reality is being formed: the unipolar world is irrevocably becoming a thing of the past, a multipolar one is taking shape

It was something to behold. Dmitri Medvedev, former Russian President, unrepentant Atlanticist, current deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, decided to go totally unplugged in an outburst matching the combat star turn of Mr. Khinzal that delivered palpable shock and awe all across NATOstan.

Medvedev said "hellish" Western sanctions not only have failed to cripple Russia, but are instead "returning to the West like a boomerang." Confidence in reserve currencies is "fading like the morning mist", and ditching the US dollar and the euro is not unrealistic anymore: "The era of regional currencies is coming."

After all, he added, "no matter if they want it or not, they'll have to negotiate a new financial order (...) And the decisive voice will then be with those countries that have a strong and advanced economy, healthy public finances and a reliable monetary system."

Medvedev relayed his succinct analysis even before D Day - as in the deadline this Thursday established by President Putin after which payments for Russian gas by "unfriendly nations" will only be accepted in rubles.

Comment: Russia is clearly in the drivers seat which is a new situation to the West which is used to dictate. It might take some time for the West to adjust to this new reality, but wishful thinking is not going to help. Neither is a WEF agenda of "building back better" and "Great reset" promoted by the same pathological deviants who created the mess we are in, in the first place.

CIA veteran who signed Hunter Biden laptop letter says he sarcastically claimed credit for 2020 election

John Sipher
A longtime CIA veteran who signed the infamous letter baselessly asserting Russian involvement in the Hunter Biden laptop saga said he was proud to have played his part in influencing the 2020 election in favor of President Joe Biden — before backtracking and claiming he was being sarcastic when he became embroiled in a Twitter spat with Donald Trump's ex-intelligence chief.

John Sipher retired in 2014 after a 28-year career in the CIA's National Clandestine Service, and he is one of the dozens of former intelligence officials who claimed the laptop story "has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

Sipher, a longtime defender of Christopher Steele's discredited dossier, is now a co-founder of Spycraft Entertainment and a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council.

Four years later: The Skripal case is weirder than ever

yulia skripal
While navigating through today's propaganda-heavy world of misinformation, spin and outright creative writing which appears to have replaced conventional journalism, it is most important that two qualities are active in the mind of any truth-seeker. The first quality is the adherence to a strong top down perspective, both historic and global. This is vital in order to guide us as a sort of compass or North Star used by sailors navigating across the ocean. The second quality is a strong power of logic, memory and discernment of wheat vs. chaff to process the mountains of data that slaps us in the face from all directions like sand in a desert storm.

As the fourth anniversary of the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal has arrived and as accusations of biolabs, and chemical warfare are again on peoples minds with Victoria Nuland's recent admission of US "bioresearch facilities" spread across Ukraine, it is a useful time to take these qualities and revisit this bizarre moment of modern history which took place on a park bench in Salisbury UK. This fraud played a major role in destroying Russian relations with the west which drove the world into the currently disastrous cataclysm now unfolding.

To do this, I decided to plunge myself into a new book called Skripal in Prison written by Moscow-based journalist John Helmer.

The New World Order that is being prepared under the pretext of war in Ukraine

Joe Biden
U.S. President Joe Biden called his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, a "butcher". Then he said, "For God’s sake, this man can’t stay in power. The State Department tried to downplay these statements by assuring that President Biden was only talking about exercising power over Russia’s neighbors, but he did not specify where Russia would exercise such power.
The conflict in Ukraine was not opened by Russia on February 24, but by Ukraine a week before. The OSCE is a witness to this. This peripheral conflict had been planned by Washington to impose a New World Order from which Russia, then China, were to be excluded. Don't be fooled!

Russia's military operations in Ukraine have been going on for more than a month and Nato's propaganda operations for a month and a half.

As always, the war propaganda of the Anglo-Saxons is coordinated from London. Since the First World War, the British have acquired an unparalleled know-how. In 1914, they had managed to convince their own population that the German army had carried out mass rapes in Belgium and that it was the duty of every Briton to come to the rescue of these poor women. It was a cleaner version of Kaiser Wilhelm II's attempt to compete with the British colonial empire. At the end of the conflict, the British population demanded that the victims be compensated. A census was taken and it was found that the facts had been extraordinarily exaggerated.

This time, in 2022, the British managed to convince the Europeans that on February 24 the Russians had attacked Ukraine to invade and annex it. Moscow was trying to reconstitute the Soviet Union and was preparing to attack all its former possessions in succession. This version is more honorable for the West than evoking the "Thucydides trap" - I will come back to this -. In reality, Kiev's troops attacked their own population in Donbass on the afternoon of February 17. Then Ukraine waved a red rag in front of the Russian bull with President Zelenski's speech to the political and military leaders of Nato gathered in Munich, during which he announced that his country was going to acquire nuclear weapons to protect itself from Russia.

Is the Biden laptop dam about to burst? WaPo, CNN go scorched earth over 'laptop from hell'

Hunter & Joe Biden

Something strange is going on with the Hunter Biden laptop story.

As regular ZeroHedge readers know, the New York Post was excommunicated from social media shortly before the 2020 US election by Big Tech for reporting on shady international business dealings by the Biden family - particularly in Ukraine and China, contained within a trove of emails, text messages, photographs and financial documents that were on a laptop Hunter abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop in April 2019.

To refresh your memory: Covering for the Bidens to help him win the 2020 election, people like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) insisted it was Russian propaganda, and outlets which reported on the laptop were smeared as conspiracy theorists.

Comment: Yet nary a word of apology to journalist Miranda Devine and the New York Post, who broke the story, and suffered unprecedented censorship in the Leftist MSM and social media, in the quest to punt the Grandpa Earpiece, aka The Big Guy, into the White House.

Hungary's foreign minister on Wednesday accused Ukraine's leadership of attempting to interfere in the upcoming Hungarian election, a charge later denied by his Ukrainian counterpart in an episode that put further strain on relations between the two countries.

In a video on social media, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto claimed that there was "ongoing coordination between the Hungarian left and representatives of the Ukrainian government," and that Ukraine was attempting to influence Hungary's April 3 election in favor of a coalition of opposition parties.

Szijjarto didn't provide any evidence supporting the claim.

Russia, India to discuss Swift alternative for rouble payments when Lavrov visits New Delhi

Lavrov
India's government is considering a proposal from Russia to use a system developed by the Russian central bank for bilateral payments, according to people with knowledge of the matter, as the Asian nation seeks to buy oil and weapons from the sanctions-hit country.

The plan involves rupee-rouble-denominated payments using Russia's messaging system SPFS, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing confidential deliberations. No final decision has been taken and the matter will probably be discussed when Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrives in India for a two-day visit starting on Thursday.

A finance ministry spokesman was not immediately available for a comment. Lavrov's visit will coincide with visits by British foreign secretary Liz Truss and US Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics Daleep Singh.

Comment: It's rather revealing that a few weeks ago a British mission to India was uninvited by Delhi's reps after the UK PM called for them to 'distance' themselves from Russia, meanwhile Moscow's tour of Afghanistan, China, and soon India, continues unabated: Can India facilitate the Global South's alternative financial transactions with Russia?

World must work with Taliban - Moscow

Lavrov Taliban
© Russian Foreign MinistryRussia Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov holds talks with the Taliban delegation in Tunxi, China, March 31, 2022.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday that the world must work more closely with the Taliban government in Afghanistan, welcoming the steps towards its recognition by the United Nations. The militant group seized power in Kabul last year, as Western forces were completing their withdrawal from the country.

Lavrov was meeting with Afghanistan's acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, in Tunxi, China.

"We're convinced that the international community must actively cooperate with the new government of Afghanistan, encouraging the steps towards its official recognition by the UN and all its member states," Lavrov said.

Comment: Indeed, the US recently stole $7 billion that belonged to Afghanistan's central bank, and the US continues to sow chaos in the country via their proxy forces, and yet, despite this, the Taliban, with help from Russia and China, remain. However, due to the aforementioned actions, along with the withdrawal of humanitarian aid, many in the country are facing immanent famine.

Ukraine says its defense industry has been destroyed

russia ukraine war

Russian forces have almost completely destroyed the Ukrainian defense industry and are "finishing off" the civilian one, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Alexey Arestovich, claimed on Thursday.

Commenting on the most recent round of the negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, which took place earlier this week in Istanbul, Arestovich underlined that any "large-scale military aggression and peace agreement are always compromises between the sides."

"Because both sides suffer losses. If you think that we do not suffer losses, then you are deeply mistaken. They have practically destroyed our military industry and in many ways are finishing it off. And in many ways they are finishing off the civilian one, deliberately destroying it," he explained.

He claimed that Russia's goal is to reduce Ukraine to a state when "no one would be interested" in it, "like a destroyed territory." "This is exactly what they are doing and will keep doing," he stressed.

US doesn't understand how Russia works - Kremlin

putin

The Kremlin said on Thursday that claims of President Vladimir Putin being misled by his own military only prove how little the US really knows about Russia.

The response came after the White House and the Pentagon suggested that officials were afraid to speak the truth to Putin about the performance of the Russian Army in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters he was dismayed by claims that advisers have misled the president.

"As it turns out, neither the State Department nor the Pentagon have the real information of what is going on in the Kremlin. They simply don't understand President Putin, don't understand the decision-making mechanism, and don't understand the work we do," he said.

According to the spokesperson: "It's not only regrettable, but also raises concerns because such lack of understanding leads to wrong, rash decisions with bad consequences."
