Threads, the Twitter clone launched by Facebook (now known as Meta), has suffered a massive drop in user engagement. One of Silicon Valley's key metrics, daily active users, has plummeted by 70 percent since its initial launch.

Forbes reports that since its launch, Threads, the new social media platform introduced by Facebook, has seen a dramatic decline in user engagement, with a sharp dropoff in daily active users and average usage duration. Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter Clone has experienced a nearly 70 percent decline in the number of daily active users since its peak on July 7.

The platform, which was initially hailed as a potential competitor to Twitter (now rebranded as simply "X") has seen its active user base fall from 44 million to around 13 million in a matter of weeks.

MSNBC leftist calls for post 9/11 style crackdown to prevent Americans becoming too patriotic

Paul Rieckhoff
"A lot of Americans are up for grabs."

A talking head on MSNBC has called for a post 9/11 style government crackdown as a means of winning "a battle for hearts and minds" of Americans who might turn against the leftist mindset and become overly patriotic.

Paul Rieckhoff, founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and Righteous Media compared the "threat" of such a scenario to the "number one threat" after 9/11, effectively suggesting conservatives and Trump supporters are akin to terrorists.

Western nations are "snooping on the entire world," according to a top senator.

Officials should never use Apple devices at work due to the threat of surveillance by foreign intelligence, the speaker of the upper chamber of Russian parliament, Valentina Matvienko, has suggested.

"It's clear why people are ditching iPhones. At the very least, they certainly cannot be used for work purposes, because our non-partners [Western nations] are snooping after the entire world," she said on Tuesday during a session, insisting the devices are a risk in terms of national and personal security.

Bronny James is "now in stable condition and no longer in ICU," his family said.

Bronny James, a son of basketball icon LeBron James, collapsed during a workout in Los Angeles on Monday and was rushed to the hospital, his family said.

"Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital," the family said in a statement.

Comment: It's interesting that they've acknowledged that these cardiac arrests have been happening among athletes recently, but notice they throw one in from 1990 to try and avoid the elephant in the room. The fact is, pre-Covid vax, cardiac arrests among athletes were exceedingly rare. Not now.

New York Times blames Ron DeSantis for the 'steep cost' of his Covid response - despite admitting Florida did better than rest of the country

The New York Times published an angry article lambasting Florida governor Ron DeSantis for the "steep cost" of his Covid decisions.

In the best traditions of 'fake news', however, the title of the article does not match its content, and it does not match the reality of what happened in Florida - because even the dishonest New York Times could not find evidence of "steep cost" of Florida's Covid decisions.

With a straight face, the newspaper recalls the freakout of then-Florida's Surgeon General about DeSantis listening to experts who believed the virus's threat was overstated:
"'You won't believe what happened,'" she said he told her. Months before Covid vaccines would become available, Gov. Ron DeSantis had decided that the worst was over for Florida, he said. Mr. DeSantis had begun listening to doctors who believed the virus's threat was overstated, and he no longer supported preventive measures like limiting indoor dining.

Mr. DeSantis was going his own way on Covid.

Comment: This article is a test run to calibrate future hit pieces.

Is left-wing politics causing mental health problems?

screaming leftie
There is growing evidence that the percentage of young Americans experiencing mental health problems is on the rise. And the rise appears to be particularly stark among white women who identify as 'liberal' (which basically means 'Left-wing'). Could Left-wing politics be causing mental health problems? It's a real possibility.

The tendency for young, white, female liberals to report mental health problems at higher rates than other groups was discovered by political scientist Zach Goldberg. Analysing data from a Pew Research survey carried out during the pandemic, he found that 56% of white, liberal women aged 18-29 had ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition by their doctors - that's more than half!

Goldberg recently shared some charts (see below) that show exactly how the mental health of different groups of American 12th graders (those aged 17-18) has changed over time. The graphs are based on data from the Monitoring the Future - a repeated survey of young Americans that's been going since the mid 1970s.

'Miss Italy' bans biological males from beauty pageant

miss italy pageant
The Miss Italy (Miss Italia) beauty pageant has banned transgender contestants from participating, saying that all entrants must be "a woman from birth."

According to Patrizia Mirigliani, the official patron of the competition, this is a longstanding policy.

"Ever since it was born, the competition includes in its regulation the clarification that you have to be a woman from birth. Probably because, even then, it was expected that in the future beauty could undergo changes, or that women could undergo modifications, or that men could become women," she said.

Comment: At least some beauty pageants aren't succumbing to the ideological insanity.
