Eye-witness report from Donbass: How the war looks from the Russian side

Following in the tradition of the late Wilfred Burchett (1911-1983), an Australian who reported on the Korean and Vietnam Wars from the communist side, this article continues CAM's reporting on the "other side" of the war in Ukraine, the side that is not presented in western media. Readers can balance this article with the pro-Ukrainian government stories we are fed every day and try to discern the truth for themselves. — Editors

As the war in Ukraine rages on, I visited the republics of Donetsk and Luhansk as an embedded reporter with the Russian army. Both of the republics are the trigger of the current conflict.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared their independence on February 24, 2022, something a lot of people were waiting for since the CIA backed coup in Ukraine of February 2014. That coup had resulted in the ouster of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and new laws forcing the Ukrainian language on Russian-speaking residents. Luhansk and Donetsk consequently voted on their independence and Ukraine attacked them, precipitating the war.

Mariya and Anna Muzychuk are facing expulsion for declining to support a total ban on Russian and Belarusian players

Chess officials in Ukraine say they will punish former world champions Mariya and Anna Muzychuk after the siblings refused to sign a letter calling for the total exclusion of Russian and Belarusian players from international events.

The Lvov Chess Federation issued a statement this week listing a host of requests for world governing body FIDE, including the expulsion of the Russian and Belarusian federations from the organization and a complete ban on players from the two countries.

The letter also demanded that Russian FIDE president Arkady Dvorkovich step down because of his supposed association with "bloody dictator" Vladimir Putin.

The smell of cheese - French election primer

Pres Macron

The question becomes, have the French people finally had it with globalist interlopers who seek to further destroy France from within along with any pretenses of those hallowed national mottos of liberty, equality, and fraternity?

The Stench of Tyranny

For five years Emmanual Macron has performed the duties of President of the fifth republic of France as one would expect of a handpicked handmaiden from the WEF Young Global Leaders' pigpen of technocrat meddler Klaus Schwab.

Macron is a former Rothschild banker who did not marry his nan but did marry his grade school teacher who looks like his nan, even after endless botox and cosmetic surgeries to try to make her look more like his auntie.

Last year there were rumors she was actually Jean-Michel Trogneaux, born in 1945, who transitioned via saucisson lopper surgery sometime after his divorce in 1987, before remarrying as a woman Brigitte, having a family, and then divorcing again to marry her star Rothschild pupil. French political gossip can be as delicious as a pain-au-chocolat-aux-amandes fresh out of the Boulanger's oven at 6 am. Marat would be proud of this attempt, unfortunately, this bit of gossip is likely not true and Brigitte is suing those who first spread these rumors.

Yes, France as a republic is on its fifth iteration. If at first, you do not succeed in tempering the tempers of the temperamental, try, try, try, try, try again. (When will the U.S. take out the deep state MIC oligarch trash and start its 2nd?) If it's any consolation to those republics still on their first try, the past few decades reveal France's fifth attempt to be more of a failure than the previous four.

Its national mottos borne of its bloody revolutionary past are now merely quaint slogans that appear on official government documents beneath the tri-colored logo of Marianne, the personification of liberty, equality, and fraternity. These no longer exist in our post-covid, post-Kalergi Plan, post-human desired technocrat-controlled world. Technocrats hate all three as much as they hate democracy and the people they seek to control.

France is a complicated country with a very complex past. It has assumed the role of Vice-Admiral of the supranational bureaucratic monstrosity that is the European Union vessel that will not stop until all 27 nations go all aboard and surrender to its undemocratic globalist aims. The French people have always been unsettled by their role in this, and it is one of the most anti-EU nations in the block, with almost two-thirds of the population holding some distrust of the union. That's greater than Great Britain pre-Brexit and only beaten by the bloc's favorite economic serfs in Greece.

Apart from Italy, Austria, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, no country on earth embraced Covid tyranny the past year more than France. The parliament rushed through a law last July that mandated vaccine passports, in the form of pre-pandemic planned QR code digital identity schemes (tied to the EU for future aims) for basic participation in society.

Disney to assist employees in obtaining genital mutilation, cross-sex hormones for minor children

internal disney video magic kingdom
As states across the country pass or consider legislation prohibiting gender reassignment surgeries or hormone usage for minors, Disney announced to its employees that they have created a benefits program to allow employees and their families access to these procedures.

"The other big area is gender identity and expression. So doing all of this work to ensure that our employees and cast can express their gender here authentically and proudly at the company. So, you know, coming up with guides on how to change your photo information about pronouns, working with our benefits team to give information about gender affirmation procedures, both for our employees who are transitioning and trans, but also our employees who have kids who are transitioning," a man explained in a video of a Disney internal meeting obtained by journalist Christopher Rufo.

Comment: We've all had our suspicions about Disney in the past, but they just seem to be getting darker and darker right now. The mask is off - Disney is after your kids! How could a parent be OK with their kids watching programing from this company at this point?

NBC journalists claim hiring Jen Psaki will tarnish the network's brand, report

jen psaki
It has been revealed that NBC News journalists aren't too keen on their sister network MSNBC hiring White House press secretary Jen Psaki, alleging that she will "tarnish" the NBC News brand.

"Noah Oppenheim, the NBC News president, even held an impromptu phone call Friday so that he could address the matter with vexed staffers from the Washington bureau, some of whom have complained to their superiors that the tentative hiring tarnishes the NBC News brand," according to CNN.

The network reported that "one of the people who was on the call" claimed, "Here's what he was saying: They have perspective programming. This was done on the perspective programming side. Not anything that reflects on NBC News." The person added, "People wanted answers on what NBC's role was in this and NBC News had no role in this. This is MSNBC's perspective programming."

An Azov Battalion fighter addressed Greek lawmakers during the Ukrainian president's teleconference.

A number of Greek politicians have expressed outrage after a member of the far-right Azov Battalion gave a speech during a teleconference between the Greek Parliament and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday.

During his address, Zelensky thanked Athens for the sanctions it has imposed on Russia and pleaded for more support, asking the Greeks to use their influence in the EU to help save "our shared heritage" in the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol.

Thievery: Finland seizes $46 million worth of Russian art over EU sanctions

customs
The European Union has imposed extensive sanctions against Russia and Belarus due to Russia's attack on Ukraine. As the implementing authority, Finnish Customs' tasks include enforcing the sanctions on goods agreed at EU level.

On 1-2 April 2022, Finnish Customs detained three shipments bound for Russia at Vaalimaa border crossing point. The shipments contained paintings and sculptures.

The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the EU list of sanctions contains a paragraph on works of art.

Comment: RT reported that the "trucks contained over 200 paintings from the Hermitage and Tretyakov which had been on loan".

Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto weighed in yesterday suggesting that Finland had gone too far in its seizure of the artwork:
Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, speaking to Yle TV channel on Thursday, underlined that the country's customs service should strictly follow the EU's regulations. However, his own position is that the objects of cultural heritage belong to the museums which originally lent them for the exhibitions. He explained that the sanctions against Russia are being imposed at such a pace that not all situations can be foreseen.
Moscow expressed strong protest and warned that Finland would not be able to escape responsibility and hide behind the European Union when it comes to the return of the paintings and sculptures.

Best of the Web: Ukraine War! What Is It Good For? Propaganda!

western propaganda russia
Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine has been presented to us, in the West, as unprovoked and unjustified. We have not been told about Russia's legitimate security concerns in the face of NATO expansionism. Nor has Ukraine's significant Nazi problem been honestly reported, with some Western propagandist even promoting them.

The Russian government claims that its recognition and defence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) are born from "compassion" for the people who have been under siege for eight years. However, Russia also needs the new republics as satellite states, providing a foothold for its own national security as it opposes NATO's advance.

It should be noted that Russia's military actions, in trying to oust Nazis from their strongholds in Mariupol, Kharkiv and elsewhere, has led to the near destruction of many cities and towns in Eastern Ukraine. As of the 19th March the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCR) estimate that 847 civilians were killed in three weeks, primarily as a result of shelling.

The OHCR noted that the "actual figures are considerably higher" but could not be verified. Credible eye witness reports and video evidence indicate that the Nazis in Mariupol and other besieged areas had stopped civilians leaving through humanitarian corridors opened by Russia. There are many reports of Nazi (Asov) atrocities, including the murder of fleeing civilians.

Black Lives Matter shows how liberal groups weaponize social media censorship

Patrisse Cullors
© Willy Sanjuan/Invision/APAn article The Post published about mansions bought by BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors was censored from social media.
The talking points have apparently gone out, and it is now OK for the mainstream press to gently criticize the Black Lives Matter movement. Accordingly, New York magazine has issued a critique of BLM's financial management — particularly, the organization's purchase in 2020 of a $6 million, 6,500 square foot house in Southern California.

Almost exactly a year ago, the New York Post reported on the purchase of four other multi-million dollar high-end homes by BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors. The story described the homes no differently than it would any other celebrity home purchase. All the information contained in the article was gleaned from public records, including the photos. No addresses were listed.

But within days, users on Facebook were banned from sharing the story — on the platform itself, on Facebook messenger, and on Instagram, which Facebook owns. Despite the fact that all the information discussed was a matter of public record, Facebook flagged the article for violating their community standards, specifically the "privacy and personal information policy."

A year later, Facebook (now Meta) still classifies the story as "abusive" and prevents it from being shared on its platforms.

Now we know why.

Video appears to show Ukrainian troops killing captured Russian soldiers.

Ukrainian soldiers
© VOENACHER via TelegramA still frame from a video posted online on Monday shows Ukrainian soldiers at the scene where Russian soldiers were executed around March 30.
A video posted online on Monday and verified by The New York Times appears to show a group of Ukrainian soldiers killing captured Russian troops outside a village west of Kyiv.

"He's still alive. Film these marauders. Look, he's still alive. He's gasping," a man says as a Russian soldier with a jacket pulled over his head, apparently wounded, is seen still breathing. A soldier then shoots the man twice. After the man keeps moving, the soldier shoots him again, and he stops.

Comment: So, a warcrime.

At least three other apparent Russian soldiers, including one with an obvious head wound who has his hands tied behind his back, can be seen dead near the victim. All are wearing camouflage, and three have white arm bands commonly worn by Russian troops. Equipment is scattered around them and there are blood stains near each man's head.

The soldiers are lying in the road a few feet from a BMD-2, an infantry fighting vehicle used by Russian airborne units. Some appear to have had their jackets, shoes or helmets removed. Farther up the road, other destroyed vehicles can be seen.
