Sanctions to blame for suspension of Nord Stream 1 maintenance - Russia

Pipes at the landfall facilities of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in Lubmin, Germany, July 21, 2022.
The pause to the gas supplies through the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was caused not by Gazprom's own actions, but by Europe's violation of the maintenance agreements of the pipeline's equipment, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained.

"If Europeans absolutely absurdly make a decision refusing to conduct maintenance of [Gazprom's] equipment, which they must service under the contract, then this is not the fault of Gazprom, it is the fault of those politicians who made the decision to impose sanctions," Peskov said, RIA Novosti reported.

The Kremlin spokesman lashed out at EU governments, saying that it was their fault that their own citizens are "shell-shocked" seeing current electricity bills. He pointed out that the situation will only worsen when temperatures fall.

Peskov stressed that Gazprom did nothing to undermine its reputation as a reliable supplier of energy resources, which it has been working on for decades. He stated that all the blame in the current situation lies with western states.

Comment: The US continues to buy Uranium from Russia, and certain EU states continue to buy oil and gas, meanwhile there are other areas where these sanctions are enforced mercilessly, such as with the Nord Stream I turbine that was delayed, and Canada and Germany themselves admitted as much. Moreover, Siemens is overseeing much of the ongoing work at Nord Stream I, so if Russia was lying, they'd surely be speaking out about it. Finally, Nord Stream II simply needs certifying by Germany and it could, in theory, be brought online.

Taken together, the West, and the EU more specifically, is sabotaging the maintenance of their energy supply which they know will result in incredible suffering for their citizens and the overall destruction of their economies, by way of enforced energy rationing, blackouts, businesses going bankrupt, and citizens being forced to choose between heating and eating.

Dem ad from 2020 comes back to bite the White House in the a** as they try to blame Trump for school closures

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared to claim Thursday former President Donald Trump is to blame for the school closure debacle during the pandemic, but a Democratic ad is coming to bite the White House's messaging.

Jean-Pierre was asked about new data that found reading and math levels for 9-year-old students dropped several points in the last two years due to pandemic-related school closures. She was also asked about the Biden Administration's plan, and whether the administration shoulders any blame for not pushing schools to re-open.

The White House press secretary immediately pointed fingers at Republicans, arguing the pandemic was "mismanaged" and that schools have largely fully reopened under Biden. She also noted Republicans opposed the American Rescue Plan which, among other things, included money for schools.

Comment: They're trying to rewrite history, but we all remember who was opposed to the reopening of schools and businesses.

WH Press Secretary declares 'if you disagree with the majority that is EXTREME THINKING'

Karine Jean-Pierre
Hours before Joe Biden broadcast seemingly from the gates of hell and declared anyone who disagrees with him to be a violent extremist, his Press Secretary told reporters that those who do not agree with "the majority" are exhibiting "an extreme way of thinking" and must be treated as a threat.

During an exchange on abortion laws, Karine Jean-Pierre stated "When you are not with where the majority of Americans are, then, you know, that is extreme. That is an extreme way of thinking."

Reporters pushed for more clarification on what exactly 'extreme' is and who the label applies to:

Partiarch Kirill warns rich Russians who refuse to help those in need that they're on 'the way to hell'

Rich Russians who refuse to share their wealth with people in need are on their way to hell, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, has warned.

Wealth is only justified when the person who owns it "is ready to give a significant part of his funds to those who are in need, who suffer," Patriarch Kirill said during his Sunday service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

In this case, "the God will be helping him to increase his material possessions," while the people won't envy those riches and won't see their owner as "an enemy," he insisted.

In May 1986 I received orders to attend a counterterrorism awareness course at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. For the next two weeks I learned about the various terrorist threats facing the United States military, and was taught various skills to overcome them, such as high-speed evasive driving, counter-surveillance methodology and reactive shooting techniques.

Upon my return to Twenty-Nine Palms, where I was stationed as a Marine Corps intelligence officer, I was given the task of putting my newly learned skills to work by carrying out a base-wide counterterrorism exercise. I borrowed a scout-sniper team from the infantry battalion on base, and set them up in an apartment off base, where I turned them into a terrorist cell tasked with collecting intelligence on the senior officers who lived and worked on the base. The only rule was that the terrorists could not engage with civilians — no families were to be impacted by the drill.

Over the course of the next 30 days, my terrorist team was able to "assassinate" every battalion commander, the regimental commander and the base commander, using improvised explosive devices and sniper fire — and had the photographs to prove it.

The takeaway from this exercise was that if someone wanted you dead, you were probably going to die.

Vigilance was your only real defense — to be alert for anything suspicious. In short, to live a life governed by paranoia. In the age of terrorism, if you feel like someone is seeking to do you harm, it is probably because someone is seeking to do you harm.

Trump tears into 'enemy of the state' Joe Biden at PA rally

Former President Donald Trump held his first live rally since, what many believe was, a divisive speech by President Joe Biden against "MAGA Republicans" and he tore into him.

It was also the first rally since the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago and he was welcomed by Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

But as he spoke to the crowd he had an absolute agenda, and it was to take apart President Biden.

He called the president's speech last week the "most vicious, hateful, and divisive speech ever delivered by a [U.S.] president."

He said President Biden was "vilifying 75 million citizens, plus another probably 75 to 150 [million], if we want to be accurate about it, as threats to democracy and as enemies of the state."

"You're all enemies of the state," he said as the crowd booed Biden. "He's an enemy of the state if you want to know the truth. The enemy of the state is him and the group that control him, which is circling around him. 'Do this, do that, Joe.'"

He said President Biden's speech was nothing but "hatred and anger" before noting the cryptic red background that was panned on the Internet.'

"How'd you like the red lighting behind him like the devil?" he said.

Comment: He didn't just respond to Biden's paranoid demagogy. He also took the high ground:

Biden seeks $47B for Ukraine, COVID-19, monkeypox, disasters

President Joe Biden is asking Congress to provide more than $47 billion in emergency dollars that would go toward the war in Ukraine, the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing monkeypox outbreak and help for recent natural disasters in Kentucky and other states.

The request, which comes as lawmakers are preparing to return to Washington and fund the government, seeks $13.7 billion related to Ukraine, including money for equipment, intelligence support and direct budgetary support. Shalanda Young, the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, said that more than three-fourths of the $40 billion approved by Congress earlier this year has already been disbursed or committed.

"We have rallied the world to support the people of Ukraine as they defend their democracy and we cannot allow that support to Ukraine to run dry," Young said in a blog post.

Comment: Yes, they can. They're doing it to America.

Comment: No matter what Congress decides, US taxpayers will be stuck with 'The Bill'.
U.S. President Joe Biden is requesting $11.7 billion in emergency funds from Congress for Ukraine as the country battles against Russia's full-scale invasion.

Lawmakers have not yet passed a 2023 funding bill, meaning they would likely need to pass a stopgap funding measure, allowing them more time to negotiate.

The new funds for Ukraine would be in addition to the $40 billion that was approved earlier this year.

The emergency funding request also includes $2 billion to address the impact of Russia's war on U.S. energy supplies.

Biden gives Clinton and Obama insider John Podesta control over nearly $370 billion in 'Inflation Reduction Act' funds

President Joe Biden has appointed former Clinton advisor and Democratic operative John Podesta to manage nearly $370 billion in green energy funding authorized by the recently passed climate bill, the White House announced Friday.

Podesta will supervise the Inflation Reduction Act's climate and clean energy initiatives as chair of the President's National Climate Task Force, the White House said.

The new law contributes $60 billion toward maintaining clean energy manufacturing, $1 billion toward increasing energy efficiency in affordable housing and $27 billion in funding to back emission reduction technologies, according to Forbes.

The IRA hands the Environmental Protection Agency $40 billion in funding and establishes electric vehicle and appliance efficiency tax credits, the outlet reported. It also supports "climate-smart" agriculture practices in rural communities to the tune of over $20 billion and funds more than $60 billion in "environmental justice" efforts.

FBI official accused of shutting down Hunter Biden probe was 'running point' on key witness

A former FBI official, who allegedly shut down part of the investigation into Hunter Biden, was "running point" in the bureau's dealings with a key witness in the probe, according to sources directly familiar with the matter.

The witness, Tony Bobulinski, now has concerns that the former official, Timothy Thibault, helped bury information about his dealings with the Biden family that he gave the FBI, sources told the Washington Free Beacon. Thibault retired from the FBI last week amid allegations from whistleblowers that he shut down an investigation into an avenue of "derogatory" information about Hunter Biden in October 2020. Senate Republicans began scrutinizing Thibault earlier this year over anti-Trump rhetoric he posted on social media.

It had been unclear what role Thibault played in the Biden investigation, which began in 2018. But his oversight of Bobulinski means he oversaw one of the most significant witnesses to come forward with information about the Bidens' business links to China.

Comment: It is incredible how long this 'process' has been drawn out - purposefully riddled with snags and coverups aimed to dissolve or sideline the details. We shouldn't be surprised. Look how far we've come investigating and bringing to justice Hillary Clinton.

Court reveals what FBI took from Mar-a-Lago

boxes

Details of the contents of the 33 boxes of material seized from former US president Donald Trump's Florida home last month were published on Friday by the Justice Department, adding some context to the shorter list released in the days following the raid.

The expanded inventory was released on order of US District Judge Aileen Cannon, ahead of deciding whether to appoint a special master to review the seized documents. Trump's legal team has insisted many of the files are protected by executive or attorney-client privilege and demanded the return of any that don't fall under the purview of the search warrant.

The warrant, based on an FBI affidavit alleging agents had repeatedly tried and failed to collect classified files from Mar-a-Lago by other means, was not particularly specific regarding what was to be seized, referring broadly to "physical documents and records constituting evidence, contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation" of federal law concerning the storage of sensitive material, including the Espionage Act and various presidential records laws.
