Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: No insurance & UK food rationing odds

Uninsured homes

Odds on rationing of food in the UK by end of 2019 are 12/1 and strangely a week before 2019 began an article about re-standardizing the amount of calories on a quick and ready meal. Home insurance more difficult to come by as insurers are so strapped for cash after endless payouts, many are no longer insuring farms or homes. Are we crossing the galactic cross and are clues hidden in the cathedrals of Europe?

Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: China's scientists say publicly 'we are headed into Global Cooling'

Chinese scientists now confirm that our world is entering a "Global Cooling" phase, which explains why the economy, and tension in the air seem to be ramping up. China and USA are the two largest corn producers on the planet and are both struggling with record low planting this year. The Grand Solar Minimum is now being drip fed to the public. Who is paying attention to China's string of pearls?

Fresh snow in the Alps (Yes, it's August)

Dachstein
There's mixed news from the high Alps this week. On the one hand another summer ski destinations has been forced to end its 2019 season early following a very hot summer even above 3,000 metres, meaning only six glacier ski areas are currently open - believed to be the lowest number at any point this century.

On the other, a dip in temperatures has led to fresh snow being reported on the glaciers at Dachstein (pictured top) and Stubai (below), neither of which is currently open for snowsports, although they are due to open in about a month's time for 'winter' 2019-20.

Comment: Just last month: Snowfall for the Alps in July!

It's also notable that last year in the month of August unseasonal snow hit the same region: Global cooling: Extreme snowfall in SUMMER hits the Alps with a depth of one foot

Indications perhaps of the beginnings of a much cooler longer-term trend...?

Moscow on track for coldest August on record, dating back 150+ years

Cloudy Moscow
Eastern Europe has been experiencing a miserable summer so far, with temperatures holding well-below average for the majority of the season. And now, following a cold and wet June and July (in which many new daily low temperature records were set), Moscow is currently on course for it's coldest August in recorded history.

The first week of August in Moscow was pretty chilly, with an average air temperature of just 13C (55.4F) some 5C below the norm.

The city's coldest August on record was way back in 1884, when the average daily air temperature for the month was some 4C below the norm. In fact, that August turned out to be colder than the May.

According to www.hmn.ru, the beginning of August in Moscow has been characterized by unusual weather in terms of not only the cold, but also of abundant rainfall and a lack of sunshine.

After the first 7 days, precipitation is already at average levels for the entire month, while the chronic lack of sunshine is within touching distance of Aug 2001's record-low 181 hours (avg. sun hours for the month of August are 238 hours).

Terrified by glacial calving

Climate alarmists are always terrified by something, primarily because they don't understand anything about science. Or mathematics. In this video I discuss the mindless hysteria surrounding glacial calving.

Best of the Web: Global cooling to replace warming trend that started 4,000 years ago - Chinese scientists

China snow
© XinhuaA team of Chinese researchers says a period of global cooling could be on the way, but the consequences will be serious.
A new study has found winters in northern China have been warming since 4,000BC - regardless of human activity - but the mainland scientists behind the research warn there is no room for complacency or inaction on climate change, with the prospect of a sudden global cooling also posing a danger.

The study found that winds from Arctic Siberia have been growing weaker, the conifer tree line has been retreating north, and there has been a steady rise in biodiversity in a general warming trend that continues today. It appears to have little to do with the increase in greenhouse gases which began with the industrial revolution, according to the researchers.

Lead scientist Dr Wu Jing, from the Key Laboratory of Cenozoic Geology and Environment at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said the study had found no evidence of human influence on northern China's warming winters.

Comment: Other scientists have come to a similar conclusion, and there appear to be a myriad of factors associated with and amplifying the shift to a much cooler climate: Also check out SOTT radio's: And for regular updates on the changes we're witnessing on our planet, watch SOTT's monthly documentary: SOTT Earth Changes Summary - June 2019: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

Antarctic cold front drops record snow in southeast Australia

Australians have endured a bizarrely wintry weekend, with parts of the country's southeast seeing snow for the first time in decades as an Antarctic vortex brought frigid conditions from the south.

The State of New South Wales' (NSW) iconic Blue Mountains ranges, just 50 kilometres west of Sydney, were blanketed in white on Saturday with shocked residents in Katoomba, Goulburn and the Central Tablelands waking to the unusual sight.

Meanwhile, in the NSW Riverina region, the towns of Cootamundra and Tumut received their first snowfall since 1985 and 2000, residents told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

"A shorter ice-free season than we've seen for decades."
________

"Polar bear habitat update for the first week of August 2019 shows there is still more sea ice than average in Hudson Bay, the southern-most area of continuous habitation for this species."

"freeze-up in that region for the last two years has also been earlier-than-average which means a shorter ice-free season than we've seen for decades." (Emphasis added)

Cold records shattered in Moscow - 'Dangerous for gardeners'

frost
"August frosts, it's dangerous!" reads the headline.

On the night of August 5 the air temperature in the metropolitan area decreased in some places to record values. In Cherusti, in the east of Moscow region, the minimum air temperature was +1.9°C, and in the herbage was -2°C.

Cold record shattered

Thus, for this area a new minimum temperature record was set. Prior to that, it belonged to the years 2001 and 2002 and was +4.9°C.
