At least 10 civilians died and dozens were injured when heavy flooding struck the port city of Aden in southern Yemen on Tuesday.
Dr Jamal Khadabakhish director of public health in Aden, told The National that the huge floods resulted in three deaths and 27 injuries among residents of Al Mualla district.
And four people from one family died as their house in Sirah district, in southern Aden, collapsed on them.
"There are many other casualties in the northern districts of Dar Saad and Al Sheikh Othman," Dr Khadabakhish said.
Over 20 people are dead or missing after severe weather in western Angola.
Angola news agency ANGOP reports that 11 people have died and 13 are missing after heavy rain and strong winds struck parts of Luanda Province early on 18 April, 2020.
No trace of missing man as more avalanches hit Lahaul
Even as the missing farmer of Bargul village of Lahaul, who was hit by an avalanche on April 13, remains untraced, the higher areas of Kullu and Lahaul have experienced more avalanches in the past few hours after the region received heavy snow.
Two days after Border Roads Organisation (BRO) cleared snow from Rahni nullah on Manali-Rohtang pass highway, a massive avalanche again blocked the highway on Sunday.
Another avalanche near Koksar had also blocked the highway. Border Roads Organisation officials said work is on to clear the debris. Rohtang Pass has received over 60cm of snow in the last three days.
As if there wasn't enough with the coronavirus, what might be considered another of the 'plagues of Egypt' caused immediate problems when it rained in the town of Villamuriel de Cerrato (Castilla y Leon) yesterday (Sunday April 19).
There has been an ongoing problem with a narrowing of the banks of a stream which runs into the Rio Carrion and whenever very heavy rain falls, it immediately overflows and floods the town.
Reports suggest that although the rainfall lasted just a few minutes, it was so heavy that the inevitable occurred meaning that firefighters from the city of Palencia were called out and with the assistance of local residents managed, with some difficulty, to combat the deluge.
A video which purportedly shows the birth of a two-headed calf in Afghanistan has gone viral on social media but the majority of people say they are not astounded with the miracle as the country is already being ran by parallel governments which came into being after the end of a two-headed government or the National Unity Government.
The video of the two-headed calf is widely being posted on social media platforms, specifically on Facebook for the past few days.
The calf was reportedly born in Kata Khel Village of Balkh district in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan.
Besides lives lost, heavy rains damaged public infrastructure mainly roads in Gicumbi District.
Local media are reporting that at least 9 people have died as a result of landslides and flash flooding in Rwanda. Meanwhile in Burundi, around 27,000 people have been affected by flooding in Bujumbura Province.

According to the New Times in Rwanda, 6 people died after heavy rain triggered landslides in Gicumbi district in Northern Province. The worst affected areas are Nyankenke and Kageyo Sectors. Property, infrastructure and livestock have all been damaged or destroyed. Authorities urged residents in high-risk zones to relocate to safer areas.
Bridges and roads were submerged after torrential rain caused flooding in parts of New Caledonia, 19 to 20 April, 2020. Some areas recorded almost 200mm of rain in just 6 hours.
Authorities declared "a dangerous meteorological event", referred to as an ORSEC EMD, for several communes including Hienghène, Poindimie, Houailou, Canala and Thio.
The heavy rain also triggered several landslides. Flooded or blocked roads left some communities isolated. Power supply was interrupted in some areas. Almost 200 mm of rain fell in just 6 hours in Hienghène.

Parts of Queensland has been hit by severe storms this afternoon, with giant hail lashing the Capricornia region.
A warning was issued for parts of the Central Coast, Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfield districts, including Rockhampton, Gladstone and Yeppoon, the Bureau of Meteorology said.
Weatherzone said over 180,000 lightning strikes were recorded within a 100km radius of Rockhampton, with over 5000 ground strikes.
