Several thousand protest against lockdown & vaccine mandate in Melbourne, Australia

A march against Covid-19 vaccine mandates in Melbourne, Australia has disrupted traffic and seen several thousand demonstrators encircle a police station.

Crowds of protesters gathered in the capital city of Victoria state on Saturday to decry the region's sweeping vaccine mandates, which cover the vast majority of occupations, as well as other Covid-related regulations. The rally began outside the regional parliament, with people then marching to Melbourne West Police Station.

Comment: Mass protests have been ongoing for nearly a year now, and, even though they're growing, it's becoming increasingly clear that they're simply being tolerated by the establishment, whilst at the same time, anti-protest laws are being rushed through in preparation for the time that they really pose a threat. As it is, the only action that has yielded any result, however temporary, is mass threats of resignations, walk outs and strike action: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: COVID And Mind Control - Do People Fear The Virus, Or Their Government?

San Francisco drivers leaving trunks open to avoid greater damage as car break-ins surge

Drivers in San Francisco are leaving their car's trunk open in an effort to fend off potential auto burglaries as the city reported a 32 percent increase in car break-ins over the past year.

"I'm shocked," said Garret Tom, former San Francisco Police Department Deputy Chief. "There's so much that can go wrong here."

Tom noted that "we're in different times" and cautioned that leaving the trunk open would invite more thieves instead of deterring them. "They could steal your batteries, your tires," he told KGO-TV. "They could go into your glove compartment and find out where you live."

San Francisco is not the only Bay Area city to suffer from increased car break-ins. In neighboring Oakland, both car break-ins and auto burglaries increased by 27 percent this year.

2021 was a banner year for UK eco crackpots and hypocrites

extinction rebellion superglue

With COP26 dominating the headlines it is hardly a surprise that 2021 has been another vintage year for eco crackpots and hypocrites. Leading the charge was Boris Johnson who flew to Glasgow on a private jet to inform the conference there was "one minute to midnight" to save the world and then flew back to London to attend a private dinner at the Garrick club. The Foreign Minister of Tuvalu caused a stir by warning of rising sea levels and delivering his speech in a foot of water. Although the Tuvalu islands have gained in size recently, the Foreign Minister avoided a charge of hypocrisy since his photo-op was an obviously sincere attempt to shakedown gullible western taxpayers.

In March, the British Army's newly-appointed Director of Climate Change and Sustainability lost no time in floating the idea of electric tanks and more veggie meals in the mess. Lieutenant General Richard Nugee said there was a distinct future possibility that 20 tonne tanks would be powered by green energy. One must hope that any future conflicts take place in sunlight or the enemy agrees an initial ceasefire for charging stations to be installed on the battlefield. Later in the year, Nugee was suggesting that global warming would cause the military to lose training days because it was too hot. Quite how his dopey remarks went down in SAS barracks, where solders are trained to undertake operations in temperatures between -15C and 45C, can only be guessed at.

Switzerland likely to hold vote on compulsory vaccination after 125,000 citizens sign petition for constitutional ban on mandates

A Swiss group seeking a constitutional ban on compulsory vaccination says it has collected enough signatures to put the issue to a vote. The initiative was submitted to the government this week.

The group, called the Swiss Freedom Movement (MLS), formally submitted the proposal to protect people's "freedom and physical integrity" to the Federal Chancellery in Bern on Thursday.

MLS said they collected 125,000 signatures, which is 25,000 more than what is required by law to put issues to a nationwide vote. The group seeks to amend the constitution to ensure that people "must not be punished" for refusing a vaccine, "nor suffer social or professional disadvantages" because of it.

Comment: Whilst it's true that the 21 month global propaganda campaign has brainwashed a significant proportion of the population into believing that unprecedented violations of human rights are necessary, it's also true that a great many, vaccinated or not, see the implications inherent in handing governments draconian powers like the ability to mandate medical procedures.

And so, as we've seen with critical votes before, such as the Scottish independence vote and Biden's 'election' to the White House - to name but 2 of the more brazen examples - vote rigging is par for the course for the establishment these days, and it's likely the Swiss vote will be no different. The mandate will pass, as it has in every country it has been pushed; except maybe Russia, and, for now, some parts of the US.

One would suppose that the Swiss can count themselves lucky, at least their government pretends to give them the vote, because elsewhere in Western Europe the tiresome charade of democracy has well since been dropped.

Here's British parliament not bothering to vote against the extension of the emergency powers act:

Mayor London Breed declares state of emergency in San Francisco's troubled Tenderloin

London Breed
© David Paul Morris/BloombergSan Francisco Mayor London Breed
Mayor London Breed declared a local state of emergency in San Francisco's crime-ridden Tenderloin District Friday, allowing the city officials to waive certain laws to quickly address a rising tide of deadly fentanyl overdoses.

The proclamation was an enhancement of the emergency intervention Breed rolled out earlier this week that would deploy additional police officers to the 50-square block neighborhood to target surging gun violence and open-air drug dealing.

The state of emergency now will bring in additional health care services. Breed made the announcement of the state of emergency during a press conference Friday. Breed said:
"The situation in the Tenderloin is an emergency and it calls for an emergency response. We showed during COVID that when we're able to use an Emergency Declaration to cut through the bureaucracy and barriers that get in the way of decisive action, we can get things done and make real, tangible progress.

"We will use that focus and coordination to disrupt the illegal activity in the neighborhood, to get people the treatment and support they need, and to make the Tenderloin a safer, more livable place for the families and children who call the neighborhood home."
The state of emergency must be ratified by the Board of Supervisors within the next seven days and will exist for no longer than 90 days.

Fury over Oxford University plan to hire academics based on how woke they are

Oxford
© Keith Barnes/DreamtimeOxford University
Oxford dons are furious that a candidate's "woke score" could be part of the criteria for hiring academics, under new proposals aimed at boosting staff diversity. The university's race equality task force has published a series of recommendations aimed at increasing the number of people it hires from ethnic minority backgrounds.

In a consultation document, seen by The Telegraph, the task force said it was "important to embed EDI" - which stands for equality, diversity and inclusion - into "all recruitment". They went on to recommend that "good citizenship and/or commitment to EDI work" should be an "essential criteria" for applicants in all reward and recognition processes.

This proposal has prompted a backlash from Oxford dons, who fear this would mean they have to give researchers a "woke score" when they apply for a job. A senior don said:
"One of the big issues that may well upset dons is that EDI is meant to be embedded as a criteria when making academic appointments. If we are supposed to pay attention to their EDI - their woke score - does this mean it doesn't matter if they are useless at teaching and research? Or do you now have to get a minimum woke score to get a job?"

Chicago car dealer on $1M smash and grab: Lightfoot, Foxx Building 'network of thieves'

Joe Perillo, a high-end car dealer in Chicago, claims Mayor Lori Lightfoot's and Cook County Attorney Kim Foxx's lax law enforcement policies are building a "network of thieves."

Perillo's Gold Coast Exotic Motors, which includes an elite fleet of vehicles, including Bentleys, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris, was the target of a smash and grab robbery on Saturday, and the thieves allegedly stole over a million dollars worth of luxury watches.

The Chicago City Wire reported on the crime and Perillo's reaction:
Perillo had just left and was visiting another location in Downers Grove when the smash-and-grab happened. He has gained some renown after a passionate interview to Fox 32 in the aftermath of the theft.

"I said two words. 'Enough is enough' is how I started the interview. I've been bombarded by people all over the country. My emails are blowing up ... people that know people that I know are getting out, they feel sorry for me," he told AM 560's The Morning Answer.

More than for himself, Perillo said he feels bad for his residential neighbors who do not feel safe or protected on the city's streets. He said it is time to start a campaign.

Comment: Chicago isn't the only city experiencing unchecked looting and destruction. Control has been turned upside-down and justice inside-out.

Judge allows Michael Flynn relatives to proceed with suit against CNN

A federal judge has rejected CNN's bid to dismiss a lawsuit filed by family members of former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn over reports that they said inaccurately depicted them as followers of the QAnon conspiracy theory.

The ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Gregory Woods on Thursday largely upheld a recommendation from a magistrate judge that the defamation case brought by Flynn's brother Jack and sister-in-law Leslie be thrown out. However, Woods said the portion of the Flynns' suit that accuses CNN of painting the couple in a "false light" could proceed. That means the news network will have to turn over its records to Flynn and have reporters and producers involved in the production sit for sworn depositions.

Woods, an appointee of President Barack Obama, wrote:
"Whether the Flynns were QAnon followers, and in particular, whether the Flynns were 'followers' as that word is understood in the context of CNN's publication, is a highly fact-intensive inquiry."
The Flynns flatly denied being followers of QAnon, a popular online conspiracy theory that claimed elites were sexually abusing children and that former President Donald Trump was planning to declare a national emergency to strike back at the shadowy figures engaged in the abuse.
