Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has fired back at "warmonger" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for threatening Iran with "atomic annihilation" right from the regime's secretive atomic weapons facility.

Speaking during a ceremony at the Dimona nuclear arms facility in the Negev desert on Wednesday, Netanyahu had claimed that the occupying entity faces threats from near and far.

"Those who threaten to wipe us out put themselves in a similar danger, and in any event will not achieve their goal," he said. "But our enemies know very well what Israel is capable of doing. They are familiar with our policy. Whoever tries to hurt us - we hurt them," said Netanyahu.

Hours later, Zarif took to Twitter to respond to the hawkish Israeli premier's highly aggressive threat, which came on the same day that the world nations were observing the International Day against Nuclear Tests.

Facebook flags then removes NPR report on inflated government school shooting statistics

Earlier this week, NPR reported on the high number of school shootings alleged by the U.S. Department of Education. The 240 school shootings detailed in the department's report on the 2015-2016 school year was significantly higher than other estimates. So NPR, with the assistance of the non-profit group Child Trends, began doing what good journalists do: they collected data.

Over a period of several months, they contacted every school. What NPR found was startling.

"[More] than two-thirds of these reported incidents never happened," NPR reported.

A colleague of mine, Sean Malone, shared NPR's article - which carried the headline "The School Shootings That Weren't" - with a few thousand Facebook friends and followers on Tuesday.

The situation when terrorists are using Syria's Idlib province as a staging ground for attacks on the positions of Syrian troops and Russia's Hmeimim air base is unacceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following talks with his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem.

"It is unacceptable when terrorists who are gathered there, first and foremost, members of the Jabhat al-Nusra terror group [outlawed in Russia - TASS], try to use this de-escalation zone to carry out attacks on the positions of the Syrian Army and target Russia's Hmeimim air base with drones," Lavrov said.

Strong warning to West

Moscow has sent a clear and strong warning to the West against playing with fire in the Syrian province of Idlib, Lavrov said.

"It is no secret that not everyone is happy with progress in resolving the Syrian issue, fighting against terrorism and creating conditions for the return of refugees," Lavrov said. "Attempts are being made to impede these processes and use various provocateurs, including extremists and well-known provocateurs calling themselves the White Helmets, who are famous for staging chemical weapons attacks and blaming them on the Syrian government in order to provide the western countries with an excuse to carry out attacks on Syria," the Russian top diplomat pointed out.

In a recent meeting with the press, British ambassador to the United Nations Karen Pierce told reporters that it is absolutely uthinkable that the terrorist factions in the terrorist-held Syrian province of Idlib could possibly be planning a terrorist attack using chemical weapons with the intention of blaming it on the Syrian government.

Her reasoning? Since the Russian government has been warning of this possibility, the exact opposite must necessarily therefore be true.

Yes, really.


"There are many terrorist organizations in Idlib," a reporter asked as a follow-up to previous questions regarding Russia's allegations that terrorist factions had received a large batch of chemical weapons which they intend to use in a false flag attack. "Why do you rule out that they would perpetrate such an attack?"

"Because this story is coming from the Russians," Pierce responded, with a straight face, and without honking a novelty-sized bicycle horn and saying "Wocka wocka!"

Comment: According to the Syrian FM the White Helmets have kidnapped 44 children to use in a staged chemical attack and are also involved in the delivery of chemical supplies to rebels in the area. In other words, Russia is not pulling stuff out of thin air, much unlike the UK does. So here we are again, and same as with the staged attack in Douma, the US will need that to happen as a pretext for bombing Syria yet again and under false pretenses. See also:

'Terrorists in Idlib': Russia's reason for massive, week long military exercise in Mediterranean

On Saturday, the Russian military will start a week-long exercise in the Mediterranean, involving 25 ships and strategic bombers. The Kremlin agreed the drill may be connected with the situation in Syria's Idlib governorate.

The exercise comes amid high tension in the region, with Moscow claiming that the US is deploying additional military assets towards Syria for a likely missile attack against Syrian government forces. The strike would be conducted under a pretext of a staged chemical weapons attack, the Russian military alleged.

The missile cruiser 'Marshal Ustinov' is the lead ship in the exercise, which will last until September 8, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Russia's Northern, Baltic, Black Sea and Caspian fleets provided combat and support ships for the war games. The drill will also involve 30 aircraft, including Tu-160 long-range bombers, Tu-142MK and Il-38 anti-submarine planes as well as Su-33 and Su-30SM fighter jets.

Comment: Russia's presence sounds reasonable enough, and Syria has invited them, but why are the US sending their cruise missile carriers there? Could it be that they're waiting for another staged chemical weapons attack by their terrorist proxy-army to provide them with the pretext to bomb Syria again? It appears that we are coming back full circle: the AngloZionists are again, apparently, preparing to use the very same White Helmets (aka "good terrorists") to execute yet another chemical false flag attack in Syria and again blame the government forces for it. The Russians are, again, warning the world in advance and, just as last time, (almost) nobody gives a damn. And there are even reports that the US is, yet again, considering imposing a (totally illegal) no-fly zone over Syria (I have not heard this once since Hillary's presidential campaign). And just like last time, it appears that the goal of the US is to save the "good terrorists" from a major governmental victory.

It appears that my prediction that each "click" brings us one step closer to the "bang!" is, unfortunately, coming true and while the Empire seems to have given up on the notion of a full-scale reconquest of Syria, the Neocons are clearly pushing for what might turn out to be a major missile strike on Syria. The fact that firing a large number of missiles near/over/at Russian forces might result in Russian counter-attack which, in turn, could lead to a major, possibly nuclear, war does not seem to factor at all in the calculations of the Neocons. True, the Neocons are mostly rather stupid (as in "short-term focused") people, with a strong sense of superiority and a messianic outlook on our world. However, it baffles me that so few people in the US and the EU are worried about this. Somehow, a nuclear war has become so unthinkable that many have concluded that it can never happen.

Comment: The neocons are indeed crazy, but they are also cowards. So far they had done a lot of talking but we can't recall the last time they picked a fight with someone who could actually punch back. A direct attack on Russian forces is therefore unlikely. Still, part of being crazy is being unpredictable, so time will tell.

Warnings from Syria's UN representative and the Russian military follow hawkish statements recently made by members of the Trump administration that the U.S. would respond "very strongly" if the Syrian government is accused of chemical weapons use in Idlib.

New York - During a speech delivered on Tuesday to the United Nations Security Council, Syria's Permanent UN Representative Bashir al-Jaafari claimed to have provided information to the council that was evidence that armed opposition groups, including Al Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front, were gearing up to use chemical weapons against civilians in the Syrian province of Idlib in an effort to frame the Syrian government for the attack.

Jaafari's warning comes as Syria and its allies are preparing for a major military offensive that would target the rebel-held Idlib province, which even mainstream Western outlets admit is dominated by terrorist groups and their affiliates.

Speaking to the council, Jaafari stated:
I put in your hands documented information on the preparations taken by Jabhat al-Nusra [al-Nusra Front] terrorist organization and the affiliated groups to use the chemical weapons against civilians in Idlib province to accuse the Syrian Arab Army and to justify any aggression that might be launched on Syria."

Comment: We wouldn't be surprised if the peanut-brained terrorists in Idlib (and their Western handlers) decided to go ahead with the false-flag attack in spite of Syria and Russia having exposed their little game.

All morning long NPR has been conducting eulogies for warmonger McCain, who is having a state funeral both in DC and in Arizona. Liberal Democrat Charles Schumer wants to rename the senate office building named after Richard Russell, a real senator, after McCain, a pimp for the military/security complex and supporter of every terrorist group that Washington could organize to sic on the Soviets, the Sandinistas, the Libyans, the Syrians.
