'Vladimir Trump': WSJ issues multiple corrections after 'misnaming' Russian President

The Wall Street Journal has issued a correction after incorrectly identifying the president of Russia as 'Vladimir Trump'. They then appeared to edit their own correction in an effort to cover up the almighty gaffe.

The paper issued an initial correction at the bottom of online article on Donald Trump's cancellation of a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires on Saturday, which read: "Vladimir Putin is president of Russia. An editing mistake erroneously identified him as Vladimir Trump in an earlier version of this article. (Nov. 29)".

To make matters worse, the paper then later corrected their correction to remove exactly what they "misidentified" the president as. The edited version now reads: "Vladimir Putin is president of Russia. An editing mistake misidentified Mr. Putin in an earlier version of this article. (Nov. 29)."

Poroshenko: Martial law will not impact assistance from IMF

Poroshenko Lagarde
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has endorsed the key indicators of the country's national budget for 2019 to facilitate further cooperation.

"The Head of State informed Madame Lagarde about the adoption and the key parameters of the state budget of Ukraine for the year 2019. Madame Lagarde noted that, according to the IMF's preliminary estimates, the key indicators of the state budget of Ukraine are in line with the parameters agreed with the Fund," Poroshenko's press service said in a follow-up of a telephone conversation between the Ukrainian President and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.

Madame Lagarde also confirmed the IMF's readiness to continue the good cooperation with Ukraine and to support the country in the implementation of its reforms.

Why is Ukraine's Kerch crisis any of America's business?

Petro Poroshenko Trump
Upon his departure for the G-20 gathering in Buenos Aires, President Donald Trump canceled his planned weekend meeting with Vladimir Putin, citing as his reason the Russian military's seizure and holding of three Ukrainian ships and 24 sailors.

But was Putin really the provocateur in Sunday's naval clash outside Kerch Strait, the Black Sea gateway to the Sea of Azov?

Or was the provocateur Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko?

Beijing demands US stops 'provocations' following yet another South China Sea sail by

Beijing has demanded the US to cease "provocative actions" that undermine Chinese security and sovereignty. The ire was drawn by a US guided missile destroyer sailing close to the disputed islands in the South China Sea.

USS Chancellorsville conducted a "freedom of navigation operation" near the South China Sea's Paracel islands on Monday, the US Navy confirmed. The stated aim was "to challenge excessive maritime claims."

Yet, Beijing had a bone to pick with Washington on that, having scrambled warships and demanding the Ticonderoga-class cruiser immediately leave the zone.

On Friday Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang called on Washington to "immediately stop such provocative actions that violate China's sovereignty and threaten [its] security."

Mike Pence sparks QAnon theories after deleting tweet featuring sheriff wearing badge

Vice President Mike Pence

Vice President Mike Pence is fuelling QAnon conspiracists after he tweeted, and then deleted, a photograph of him standing next to a Florida sheriff deputy wearing a QAnon badge.

The photo showed Pence being greeted by members of the Broward Sheriff's Office SWAT team at Fort-Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday. One of the men pictured was wearing a red and black badge with a Q on it, which appears to be the same design as QAnon merchandise being sold online.

The apparently Q-loving officer has been identified as Sergeant Matt Patten of the Broward Sheriff's Office.

'Mysterious helicopters' have rescued and supplied ISIS and al-Qaeda time and time again

US helicopters

Although the United States government routinely denies that it in any way cooperates with ISIS, reports continue to manifest themselves demonstrating exactly the opposite, particularly in Syria. Over the course of the war and ever since the emergence of the terrorist organization on the world scene, there have been a number of "mysterious helicopters" that extract ISIS fighters from battlefields in which they are facing imminent defeat either by the legitimate government of the countries in which they are fighting, pro-government militias, or even ahead of "anti-ISIS" strikes by the alleged "anti-ISIS coalition."

While not attempting to go in to a detailed explanation or analysis of each incident, below are a number of reports of such "airlifts of evil" that have surfaced over the last two years. The Pentagon, as mentioned above, has repeatedly denied these reports.

November 10-11, 2018 - SANA reported that a US-led aircraft landed in Deir ez-Zour Province, near the outskirts of al-Susah, taking away three ISIS members.

October 7, 2018 - SANA quoted residents of the town al-Shaafah, who reported that American helicopters had evacuated ISIS commanders from Abu Kamal in Deir ez-Zour province. There was no word as to where the fighters were taken.

September 22, 2018 - SANA reported that the US-led coalition carried out an "air landing operation" on the outskirts of al-Mrashde village, which was located in the same area where ISIS militants had spread out. This area is in the southeastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The report claimed that the flights transferred a number of ISIS commanders.

Flashback Best of the Web: Britain has been at war continuously for 104 years

british malay beheading
British special forces behead Malay villagers while 'spreading democracy' in the 1950s
War-weariness among the public and wariness among politicians mean next year could be the first since at least 1914 that British soldiers, sailors and air crews are not engaged in fighting

When British forces pull down the union jack for the last time in Afghanistan this year, it will be a hugely symbolic moment. It is not just that the departure marks the end of 13 years of British involvement in combat in that troubled country. The surprise is that it could also signal the end of a century or more of unbroken warfare by British forces.

Comment: It didn't. 'ISIS' suddenly arrived on the scene in Syria, then Iraq, and British soldiers were back in 'expeditionary' mode...

Next year may be the first since at least 1914 that British soldiers, sailors and air crews will not be engaged in fighting somewhere - the first time Britain is totally at peace with the rest of the world.

Since Britain's declaration of war against Germany in August 1914, not a year has passed without its forces being involved in conflict. It is a statistic that has been largely overlooked, and not one about which the government is likely to boast.

Comment: Indeed. In the entire time since then the whole world has been daily informed (largely through anglophone media) about these dictators and those tyrants, but the backdrop - British and American warmongering - is so ubiquitous and monotonous that it's like white noise, or wallpaper no one notices.

The past 100 years have seen two world wars, large-scale conflicts in Korea and Iraq, and small-scale actions in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. There have been punitive operations in defence of empire, cold war operations, post-9/11 support for the US, and the Troubles in Ireland.

Comment: 'War-weariness' is not a problem for the British elites: they can rely on media creating fictitious enemies (the Russians, currently).

SOTT Focus: The #Resistance rehabilitates Robert Mueller

mueller fake TIME cover
© Time Magazine
The "Resistance" - the loose affiliation of liberals, progressives and neo-conservatives dedicated to opposing Donald Trump - is NOT a grass-roots movement. They don't speak for the everyman or the poor or the oppressed. They are a distraction, nothing more. A parlor game. The face to Trump's heel.

The Resistance is the voice of the Deep State - Pro-war, pro-globalisation, pro-Imperialism. It just hides its true face behind a mask of "progressive values". They prove this with their own actions - opposing Trump's moves toward peace with North Korea and finding common ground with Russia.

Comment: There's more than enough evidence to make an accurate judgement of Robert Mueller's character, but as the author points out, all is forgiven and forgotten because #OrangeManBad.

Say what? Ukraine will demand that Turkey shuts Bosphorus Strait to Russian ships over Kerch incident

A Ukrainian Navy chief has vowed to ask Turkey to close the Bosphorus Strait for Russian warships over the Kerch naval standoff. Moscow wasn't impressed, as the official cited laws referring exclusively to warring countries.

"I'm sure that the international community will make up its mind and recognize that there was an aggression against the state of Ukraine," commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Admiral Igor Voronchenko, said on Thursday.

Citing this, and the rules of the Montreux Convention, namely Article 19, we will try to ask the Republic of Turkey for the closure of the Bosphorus Strait, to teach the Russians what it takes to violate international rules," the official, who used to be a top officer with the county's national guard and was recently promoted to admiral, said.

The bold statement has surely raised some eyebrows in Moscow, since the article he mentioned regulates rules of passage through the Bosphorus Strait for the nations that are currently in the state of war. Some officials have dismissed the threat out of hand.

Best of the Web: Former Greek foreign minister: 'Diplomats are issuing visas to unaccompanied children so their organs can be harvested'

Nikos Kotzias

Diplomats from Greece have been blasted as "traitors" by the country's former foreign minister, after he shockingly repeated allegations that visas were issued "to unaccompanied children to illegally traffic their organs".

Nikos Kotzias, who resigned last month in a row over Macedonia's name, damningly said last week - and for the second time - that some 93 cases had been sent for prosecution, with a string of "highly respected ambassadors" already behind bars.

"Do you know what visas for unaccompanied minors mean? It means the organ trade."

Comment: Crikey!

Comment: As we've been pointing our for years now, illicit trafficking in organs for transplant is a world-wide problem. Destitute children are the easiest target. The do-gooders facilitating the migrant movements have no idea what evil they're facilitating.
