'Don't defend Trump - attack China': coronavirus strategy revealed in Republican memo

China coronavirus

This story is published in a content partnership with POLITICO. It was originally reported by Alex Isenstadt on politico.com on April 24, 2020.The US National Republican Senatorial Committee has sent campaigns a detailed 57-page memo written by a top Republican strategist advising party candidates to address the coronavirus crisis by aggressively attacking China.

The memo includes advice on everything from how to tie Democratic candidates to the Chinese government to how to deal with accusations of racism.

It stresses three main lines of assault: that China caused the virus "by covering it up", that Democrats are "soft on China", and that Republicans will "push for sanctions on China for its role in spreading this pandemic".

"Coronavirus was a Chinese hit-and-run followed by a cover-up that cost thousands of lives," the April 17 memo states.

Comment: The propaganda against China over the 'pandemic' is extremely dumb all around. The foreign enemy trope has really become quite boring.

Flashback 'She was so dangerous': Where in the world is the notorious Ghislaine Maxwell?

© Patrick McMullan via Getty ImagesGhislaine Maxwell with Jeffrey Epstein: the two seemed mutually dependent
In the months since Jeffrey Epstein died in prison, his former partner has disappeared. Will she ever return to face her accusers?

Riding up on a white horse, Ghislaine Maxwell made quite the impression. "She's got the whole equestrian attire. She's so elegant," recalls Maria Farmer. Farmer was 26 and trying to build a career as an artist when she was invited to stay at a ranch in Ohio with Maxwell and run an art project.

It was the mid-90s and this was the second time the two had met. Farmer had encountered Maxwell and her friend Jeffrey Epstein at her New York Academy of Art graduate show. She would go on to work for the pair for a year, at the front desk of Epstein's Manhattan mansion. She was perfectly placed to see who came to the house - and says she witnessed young teenagers being brought through the doors by Maxwell. Following an alleged sexual assault by Maxwell and Epstein, Farmer went to the police. She was ignored.

More than 20 years on, her account - along with the testimonies of several other women, including an allegation of abuse from her younger sister, Annie, who was 16 at the time - has helped to create a picture of Epstein as a prolific sex offender, who abused countless underage girls. It is a scandal that has drawn in other powerful men, most notably Prince Andrew. One woman, Virginia Giuffre, says she was trafficked by Epstein to have sex with Andrew on three occasions. He has repeatedly denied the allegations, most recently in his disastrous TV interview.

Comment: According to this interview with journalist Whitney Webb, Maxwell may be in hiding in England - under the protection of the Rothschild family no less.

Iraq: Official warns of US plot to transfer ISIS terrorists from Syria to Iraq's Al-Anbar region

Isis to Iraq
A senior official in Iraq's al-Anbar province warned of the increasing presence of the ISIS terrorists in the desert areas of the province which are controlled by the US forces.

"These areas are controlled by the US military men and are a safe haven for the terrorists," the official was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language al-Ma'aloumeh news agency on Saturday.

He added that the Americans are supplying the ISIS terrorists with the necessary weapons and logistical equipment.

The official warned of the US attempts to transfer a large number of ISIS terrorists from occupied regions of Syria to Iraq's western desert province of al-Anbar. The terrorists pose a great danger to inhabitants of this area, as well as the bordering areas with Syria.

Comment: It wouldn't surprise us if this were an accurate picture of what's continuing to happen in the Levant.

David Sirota documents more of evidence of Joe Biden's pervasive corruption

"Do You See What Happens, Larry?"

"Too Much Information" Blog

Biden signs up Larry Summers, after Summers destroyed the world and now wages a campaign against a wealth tax and against worker power.

Joe Biden infamously promised his big donors that if elected, "nothing would fundamentally change" for them. The news that Biden is being advised by Larry Summers suggests the presumptive Democratic nominee is dead serious about fulfilling that campaign promise.

Summers was the architect of major corporate trade policies that ended up offshoring America's manufacturing capacity — a development that left the United States in the unenviable position of begging China's authoritarian regime to help produce the basic goods we need during the coronavirus emergency. Summers also sculpted Wall Street deregulation and was billed as one of three members of a "committee to save the world" — a committee that ended up destroying the world when its bank-coddling policies culminated in the financial crisis.

Pentagon vax study shows flu shot raised risk of coronavirus by 36%

On March 12th, 2020, Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta held a global town hall on "Corona Facts and Fears." During the discussion, Anderson said to the viewing audience, "And, again, if you are concerned about coronavirus, and you haven't gotten a flu shot...you should get a flu shot."

Setting safety and efficacy of influenza vaccination aside, is Anderson's claim that the flu shot will help people fight COVID-19 remotely true? The short answer is no.

In fact, the results of many peer-reviewed, published studies prove that Anderson's recommendation may have been the worst advice he could have given the public.

In searching the literature, the only study we have been able to find assessing flu shots and coronavirus is a 2020 US Pentagon study that found that the flu shot INCREASES the risks from coronavirus by 36%. "Receiving influenza vaccination may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, a phenomenon known as "virus interference...'vaccine derived' virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus..." Here are the findings:

Best of the Web: Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein met many times, AFTER the pedophile was convicted

EpsteinGates

Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender who committed suicide in prison, managed to lure an astonishing array of rich, powerful and famous men into his orbit.

There were billionaires (Leslie Wexner and Leon Black), politicians (Bill Clinton and Bill Richardson), Nobel laureates (Murray Gell-Mann and Frank Wilczek) and even royals (Prince Andrew).

Few, though, compared in prestige and power to the world's second-richest person, a brilliant and intensely private luminary: Bill Gates. And unlike many others, Mr. Gates started the relationship after Mr. Epstein was convicted of sex crimes.

Mr. Gates, the Microsoft co-founder, whose $100 billion-plus fortune has endowed the world's largest charitable organization, has done his best to minimize his connections to Mr. Epstein. "I didn't have any business relationship or friendship with him," he told The Wall Street Journal last month.

In fact, beginning in 2011, Mr. Gates met with Mr. Epstein on numerous occasions — including at least three times at Mr. Epstein's palatial Manhattan townhouse, and at least once staying late into the night, according to interviews with more than a dozen people familiar with the relationship, as well as documents reviewed by The New York Times.

Comment: Incidentally, shared obsessions include eugenics, 'editing' human genes, and a 'master-race':

Jeffrey Epstein dreamed of seeding 'master-race' with his DNA, planned 'baby factory' at his New Mexico ranch

Putin's call with MBS reportedly ended badly, before Saudis launched oil price war

A telephone call last month between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman degenerated into a shouting match just before Riyadh decided to flood the market with oil in a move which sent prices spiralling.

Saudi officials with knowledge of the disastrous call told Middle East Eye that the row threatened to undo months of detente between the two countries, in which a significant arms trade was also agreed.

The call took place just before an Opec+ meeting on 6 March, in which major oil producers failed to agree a deal on cutting production despite falling global demand as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Just before that meeting there was a call between Putin and MBS. MBS was very aggressive and gave an ultimatum. He threatened that if there is no agreement, Saudi would start a price war.

"The conversation was very personal. They shouted at each other. Putin refused the ultimatum and the call ended badly," the Saudi official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Boeing loses another revenue stream as US Navy takes final delivery of Block II Super Hornet jet

The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet has been the US Navy's workhorse attack aircraft for nearly two decades, with the planes involved in almost all of America's foreign wars since 2001, from Iraq and Afghanistan to Syria and Iraq again. Its predecessor, the F/A-18, took part in the 1986 bombing of Libya, the Gulf War, and the 90s Yugoslav wars.

The US Navy has taken delivery of its final Block II Super Hornet aircraft, bringing the total number of planes delivered since 2005 up to 608 (among them 322 single seater F/A-18Es and 286 twin seater F/A-18Fs).

According to Janes, the final plane was sent to Strike Fighter Squadron 34, based at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia on April 17.

Pentagon F/A-18 programme office director Jason Denney called the delivery "a stepping stone along the path to continuously evolving our platforms to meet the US Navy's ever-evolving needs," stressing the Block III upgrades were "just steps behind" with the new Block III Super Hornet test platforms expected to be delivered in the next two months.

Surveillance a price worth paying to beat coronavirus, says Blair thinktank

tony blair
A dramatic increase in technological surveillance is a "price worth paying" to fight Covid-19, argues a report from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

Governments and private companies can use location data to track the success of lockdown measures, monitor bluetooth signals to help contact tracing efforts, or keep an eye on search queries to help identify new clusters of infection or previously unknown symptoms.

Privacy activists have warned, however, that such extensions of surveillance could be a dangerous precedent that would be hard to roll back once the crisis is over.

Comment: You can't get much more blatantly transparent than this. This manufactured crisis is here to institute levels of surveillance that would never be accepted by the citizenry had they not been scared into accepting it. The lockdown is a hysterical overreaction to an over-hyped virus, but the surveillance state that results will be the gift that keeps on giving.
