'Flights of death': 'Humanitarian flights' for Ukraine loaded with weapons say Italy's protesting airport workers

One of Italy's largest trade unions has called for a protest outside the Pisa airport on Saturday, after receiving a tip from some employees that Ukraine relief flights were transporting weapons and ammunition, not food and medicine.

Several workers at the Galileo Galilei airport refused to load one of the cargo flights advertised as carrying humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The crates did not contain food and medication but weapons, ammunition and explosives instead, the Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) said in a statement on Monday evening.

"We strongly denounce this outright falsification, which cynically uses 'humanitarian' aid as cover to fuel the war in Ukraine," the USB said.

Comment: The workers are confirming what was, for the most part, already brazenly admitted by governments in the West, that they were supplying Ukraine with 'lethal aid' which is being used by the neo-Nazi aligned military not only to fight Russia, but also for false flag events whereby civilians are killed in an attempt to blame Russia: It's notable that this isn't the first time Italy's transport workers have gone on strike to prevent the shipments of weapons being used to wage the West's criminal wars: Italian dock workers refuse to load cargo onto Saudi Arabian ship headed to Yemen

Kolomoysky Owns Burisma Holdings

The real person who was the benefactor to, and the boss of, Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, at the Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings, was not the CEO of Burisma Holdings, Mykola Zlochevsky, but it was instead Ihor Kolomoysky, who was part of the newly installed Ukrainian Government, which the Obama Administration itself had actually just installed in Ukraine, in what the head of the "private CIA" firm Stratfor correctly called "the most blatant coup in history."

Shortly after the Obama Administration's Ukrainian coup, on March 2, 2014, Kolomoysky, who supported Yanukovych's overthrow, was appointed the governor of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Hunter Biden, with no experience in the industry or region, would join Kolomoysky's Burisma Holdings two months later on May 12, 2014.

A 2012 study of Burisma Holdings done in Ukraine by the AntiCorruption Action Centre (ANTAC), an investigative nonprofit co-funded by American billionaire George Soros and the U.S. State Department, found that the true owner of Burisma Holdings was none other than Ukrainian billionaire-oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky.

The study, which was funded to dig up corruption on the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, instead found that Ihor Kolomoysky "managed to seize the largest reserves of natural gas in Ukraine".

Rhetorical gesture: Russia sanctions US President

biden
Moscow has announced sanctions against US leadership, including Joe Biden, as well as the chiefs of the Pentagon and the CIA

Russia on Tuesday sanctioned US President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Tony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and ten other administration officials and political figures. Moscow has said that the sanctions are a reciprocal measure, imposed after Washington blacklisted top Russian leaders, including President Vladimir Putin.

The latest additions to Russia's "stop list" were announced by the Kremlin on Tuesday, and were described as a "counter reaction" to the "extremely Russophobic course taken by the current US administration."

Washington and Moscow vie for the stupid prize

kremlin white house washington moscow
Is it Washington or the Kremlin which is the most confused about sanctions and their impact? Washington and Europe have made it very clear that sanctions do not apply to payments for Russian energy and minerals. Only the US has banned the import of Russian gas and oil. As the US uses no Russian gas and only 7% of its oil is from Russia, the sanction is without effect. There are no bans on imports of Russian minerals as the West can't get by without them, just as Europe, especially German industry, cannot get by without Russian energy. There are no sanctions on banks for processing payments for Russian energy and minerals.

So, what do the Western sanctions do? They identify for Russia the pressure points where Russian sanctions on the West can severely damage the West. Why doesn't Russia use this power?

I think for two totally erroneous reasons. One is that Russia wants to prove that she is a reliable business partner that fulfills her contracts and doesn't use trade relations as a weapon. But what good does this do Russia when the US and Europe are not reliable business partners and do use trade as a weapon? As Russia is the only reliable partner in the deal, Russia is taken for a ride.

White House under pressure from Congress and Zelensky to find ways to deliver Soviet-made weapons to Ukraine

Smoke rises from a Russian tank destroyed by the Ukrainian forces on the side of a road in Lugansk region on February 26, 2022.
Nearly three weeks into Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Biden administration is still assessing the most effective way to get military aid into the country without triggering a wider war.

While administration officials say the effort to provide Ukrainian forces with American-made weapons such as Javelin anti-tank and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles has been largely successful, the White House is under intense pressure to do more.

Specifically, both Congress and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have pressured Biden officials to help broker the transfer of heavier Soviet-made weaponry to Ukraine, including MiG fighter jets and S-300 surface-to-air missile systems. It's a message that Zelensky could echo on Wednesday when he addresses Congress.

Moscow has blamed NATO countries for "breaking off the dialogue".

Russia has officially informed the Council of Europe of its withdrawal from the organization. As Deputy Speaker of the Russian Duma Pyotr Tolstoy announced on Tuesday, a letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov has been handed over to the Secretary General of the organization.

"All responsibility for breaking off the dialogue with the Council of Europe lies with the NATO countries, which all this time have been using the topic of human rights for fulfilling their own geopolitical interests and for attacks on our country," Tolstoy said.

US comments on Zelensky's request to blockade Russian international trade, legally considered to be an act of war

russian map sanctions
The US is damaging the Russian economy to stop its military attack against Ukraine, but the government is not commenting on the more radical calls from Kiev, like the reported suggestion of blocking Russian trade ships from using international waters, US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo indicated during an interview with CNBC on Monday.

Adeyemo sat down with the network's senior White House correspondent, Kayla Tausche, to explain how the US was successfully using economic sanctions to hurt the Russian economy with the purported goal of stopping the military offensive against Kiev. Russia is feeling the pain, as evidenced by its continued suspension of the domestic stock trade, devaluation of the ruble, and restrictions on the withdrawal of foreign currency from banks, the official said.

Best of the Web: Under the Wolfsangel: The uncomfortable truth about radical ideologies in Ukraine

The Nazi influence on modern-day Ukrainian politics is clear, tangible, and willfully ignored by its Western supporters

A cursory look at the documents regarding the foundation of the Ukrainian state would make it appear quite European and democratic, which is exactly the reason why many might have dismissed Vladimir Putin's talk about neo-Nazis in Ukraine as rhetoric and propaganda. The truth, however, is much more complicated and cannot be summarized by saying "Ukrainian president is Jewish, and thus all allegations are untrue".

Tell me who your heroes are, and I will tell you who you are

One historical figure who has emerged as a hero in post-Maidan Ukraine is Stepan Bandera, a leader and ideologist of the militant wing of the far-right Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). Today, there are streets named after him, people sing songs in his honor and carry his portrait.

Iran foils another attempt by Israel to 'sabotage' nuclear facility

Iranian state media announced on Monday that Tehran has foiled an attempted sabotage plot linked to Israel at a key underground nuclear plant, detaining several suspected spies.

The IRNA news agency said suspected members of an Israeli-linked spy network "planned on sabotaging the Fordo facility and were arrested by the intelligence services of the Revolutionary Guards." The state media outlet did not reveal the names of the suspect or how many were detained.

Fordo is an underground uranium enrichment facility that is based roughly 180 kilometers (112 miles) south of Tehran. The Israeli government has previously accused Iran of using the plant as part of its plan to develop nuclear weapons, something that Tehran denies.

Comment: This wouldn't be the first and it certainly won't the last of Israel's criminal covert and overt attacks, in fact, as it and the US lose sway on the international stage we can only expect them lash out ever more violently:
