Pakistani lawmakers 'elect' Shahbaz Sharif as new premier

Pakistan's Supreme Court on Thursday blocked Prime Minister Imran Khan's bid to stay in power, ruling that his move to dissolve Parliament and call early elections was illegal. That set the stage for a no-confidence vote by opposition lawmakers, who say they have enough support to oust him.

Pakistan's parliament elected opposition lawmaker Shahbaz Sharif as the country's new prime minister on Monday, after a walkout by lawmakers from ousted Premier Imran Khan's party.

Sharif was the only contender. He is the brother of disgraced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif but his election will not guarantee a peaceful path forward — or solve Pakistan's many economic problems, including high inflation and a soaring energy crisis.

Shahbaz Sharif was elected with 174 votes in his favor after more than 100 lawmakers from Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, or Pakistan Justice Party, staged a walkout of the National Assembly in protest.

Comment: Sharif attempted to become Pakistan's prime minister in 2018, but lost to Imran Kahn. Kahn proved to be too independent for Western tastes. Given Kahn's popular support,Sharif may have a rough road, even with the Pakistan Army's support.

A government watchdog is demanding the US attorney probing Hunter Biden in Delaware investigate tens of millions in anonymous donations from China to the University of Pennsylvania, where an academic center is named for his father, President Biden.

The Ivy League college raked in a total of $54.6 million from 2014 through June 2019 in donations from China, including $23.1 million in anonymous gifts starting in 2016, according to public records.

Most of the anonymous donations came after the university announced in February 2017 that it would create the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement. Joe Biden, whose term as vice president had just ended, was to lead the center and was also named a professor at the university.

EU fails to agree Russian energy ban, Germany warns of 'upheaval' should gas stop, considering fracking

© ReutersThe trade bloc was planning to slap sanctions on imports of oil and natural gas
The European Union's foreign ministers have not agreed on a ban on Russian oil and natural gas imports, Head Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on Monday, adding that discussions on the issue will continue. The energy ban was expected to be part of the latest EU sanctions package against Moscow.

"We discussed, first of all, how to ensure the effectiveness of the existing sanctions in order to avoid gaps in their implementation. But we also discussed new steps we can take, including sanctions against oil and gas," Borrell said. "We have not made decisions regarding such sanctions, we agreed to continue the discussion."

Comment: Meaning that Russia will continue to supply both Europe and the US with gas and oil whilst they continue to suppy and sacrifice Ukraine for their proxy-war on Russia.

While the European Union agreed numerous sanctions against Moscow, member states have been at loggerheads over banning Russian energy imports. That's because many EU countries are heavily dependent on Russian energy. Thus, Hungary has placed a veto on a total ban of Russian gas imports, saying it was the only option, as the country is landlocked and wouldn't be able to directly receive liquefied gas from the US.

Comment: And Hungary's Orban, that just won the election by a majority, doesn't intend to paticipate in the West's suicidal attempts to isolate Russia.

Comment: Obviously a lot of emphasis has already been placed on 'green' energy and it has failed to deliver, if it could, we wouldn't see the US & Europe scrambling and begging for energy supplies, nor would energy prices be soaring.

Note that this is just one numerous converging issues that threaten the stability and social fabric of Europe, because, as just one example, regions are already seeing food shortages, and this is even before a growing season has been greatly reduced due to the suicidal sanctions: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: Kramatorsk False-Flag - Ukraine EU Delusion - Khan Ousted in Pakistan

Russia will take legal action if the West tries to create an artificial default in the country, Izvestia newspaper quoted Finance Minister Anton Siluanov as saying on Monday. The US blocked Moscow's payment to its bondholders last week.

"Of course, we will sue, because we have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that investors receive their payments," Siluanov said in an interview. "We will present in court our bills confirming our efforts to pay both in foreign currency and in rubles. It will not be an easy process. We will have to very actively prove our case, despite all the difficulties."

The minister earlier said the country would do everything possible to make sure its creditors are paid.

Repressions: A detailed list of a disturbing trend in the Ukraine

Former Ukrainian prime minister, Mykola Azarov
This article provides an overview into a deeply disturbing trend in Ukraine, one that started in 2014, that has accelerated and intensified since 24 February 2022. Extrajudicial killings, harassment, arbitrary detentions by men in camouflaged uniforms, beatings and disappearances continue to take place on a regular basis in Ukraine. Most of the detentions and disappearances are often carried out by the Ukrainian Security service, (SBU), under a sweeping repression.

Biden and Modi to hold virtual talks where US will pressure India into taking hardline on Russia over Ukraine

US President Joe Biden is set to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday as he presses world leaders to take a hard line against Russia's Ukraine invasion.

India's neutral stance in the war has raised concerns in Washington and earned praise from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who lauded India this month for judging "the situation in its entirety, not just in a one-sided way."

Most recently, India abstained when the UN General Assembly voted on Thursday to suspend Russia from its seat on the 47-member Human Rights Council over allegations that Russian soldiers in Ukraine engaged in rights violations that the US and Ukraine have called war crimes.

Comment: Russia requested the opportunity to present evidence that Ukraine was responsible for the Bucha false flag and, in turn, not only was Russia denied, but then a shady resolution was quickly drawn up and Russia was suspended from the UN human rights body; regarding the suspension, China said it had set a 'dangerous new precedent'.

Comment: Notably this virtual meeting follows one scheduled between delegates from India and Britain but that was cancelled at the last minute, apparently because Delhi didn't take too kindly to being told to 'distance' itself from its ally Russia.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted in the last few days, shortly after he warned that there was a "foreign conspiracy afoot to remove him from power, again, because of his favourable relations with Russia and China. Within hours of his removal, Pakistan's streets erupted in protest: Imran Khan's his party warn they will resign en masse

Imran Khan warned about alleged meddling before losing no-confidence vote in parliament

In his first tweet since losing his as Pakistan's prime minister, Imran Khan has pointed the finger at unnamed foreign forces that he alleges have meddled in the country's affairs. The no-confidence vote that ousted him was held early on Sunday.
"Pakistan became an independent state in 1947; but the freedom struggle begins again today against a foreign conspiracy of regime change," Khan wrote. He added that "it is always the people of the country who defend their sovereignty & democracy."

Comment: Once again we can see the same scenario. The empire of lies is trying to install a puppet government in another country which decided to go the right way and to be a real independent country, not a vasal banana state that serves the empire and goes against its own people.

Pete Buttigieg SHOCKED to hear black voters feel that Democrats don't keep their promises

pete buttigieg
Pete Buttigieg, the Biden administration's Secretary of Transportation, went on "The Breakfast Club" show Thursday and appeared shocked when the host told him that not all black Americans were happy with the Democrats these days.

"You do realize, Pete, a lot of black people feel like Democrats have kept no promises since they've been in office," Charlamagne Tha God said.

"Really?" responded a visibly surprised Buttigieg.

Comment: Like most Democrats, Buttigieg is clueless and out of touch with his voter base.

Lying Jake Sullivan claims 'intel' indicates plan from 'highest levels' of Russian govt to target civilians

Sullivan
© Associated Press/Manuel Balce CenetaWhite House national security adviser Jake Sullivan speaks during a press briefing at the White House on Feb. 11 in Washington.
National security advisor Jake Sullivan said U.S. intelligence discovered that "there was a plan from the highest levels of the Russian government to target" civilians in Ukraine.

Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Sullivan told host Jon Karl that the "horrifying" images of mass casualties in Ukraine were "downright shocking," but they were "not surprising." He said U.S. intelligence presented the information before the war began.

"We, in fact, before the war began, declassified intelligence and presented it indicating that there was a plan from the highest levels of the Russian government to target civilians who oppose the invasion, to cause violence against them," he said. "To organize efforts to brutalize them in order to try to terrorize the population and subjugate it.

"So this was something that was planned."

Sullivan noted that frustration among Russian soldiers or troops may also contribute to violence against civilians, as they believed they would have a "glorious victory."

Comment: Ok, Goebbels. Coming just days after the public admission that anti-Russian talking points and "intelligence" are faked by the American intel community, no one should believe a word coming out of Sullivan's mouth. This is the way American "intelligence" works: whenever there is a false narrative the intel community wants people to believe, it simply says that their "intelligence" suggests that this narrative is the case. It isn't. They just made it up, plain and simple, just as they made up the "Putin asking China for military help," "Putin is planning chemical weapons attacks," etc., ad nauseam.
