A 61-year-old woman died after being attacked by multiple dogs, the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

Deputies responded to the 4300 block of South Catfish Drive just after noon Sunday after getting a report that a woman was dead.

Upon arrival, deputies found Anita Mears dead in her front yard with apparent stab wounds.

The Oklahoma County Coroners Office later determined her death was not a homicide but rather that she was the victim of an attack by multiple dogs.

A two-year-old boy died, allegedly after being attacked by a pack of street dogs at Golconda on Tuesday night.

The victim, Ahmed a resident of Bada Bazaar, was playing near his house when the pack of dogs attacked him. Locals scared away the dogs and rescued the boy, who sustained injuries on the neck and other parts of the body.

He was rushed to Niloufer hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Locals pointed out that the stray dogs had attacked locals in the colony earlier too.

A family has captured the terrifying moment a 'four-metre' great white shark monstered their boat while out on a fishing trip.

David Tuckfield was out on the water off the coast of Mandurah, south of Perth, last Friday with his wife Kunya and 14-year-old son when they spotted the shark lurking beneath the surface.

The great white, which Mr Tuckfield estimated to be about four metres long, swam right up to the side of the boat, opening its mouth up wide and using its razor sharp teeth to chomp down on the boat's outboard motor.

The shark continued circling the family for an hour, giving them a Good Friday they'll never forget.

An 80-year-old man was killed and a 19-year-old girl was hurt in an attack by a sloth bear at Biliya village here on Wednesday. Devaram was going towards a field with his daughter Savita when suddenly a bear hiding behind the bushes attacked him.

Sources said the bear attacked Devaram's face with its paw and gorged out his eye. His jaw also broke in the attack. The bear caught Devaram from the head and started dragging him towards the jungle. When his daughter started shouting, the bear left Devaram and pounced on her. Hearing her shout, villagers rushed towards them which forced the bear to run away in the forest, sources said.

A 60-year-old woman was killed in a bear attack, a day after two men met with the same fate at Ambera village of Gumla district in Jharkhand on Thursday evening.

The deceased, identified as Pati Devi, was returning home at Banghar village after attending the funeral of one of the other two deceased when the incident happened.

"The bear pounced on her at the same place where the other two men - Lalit and Shubash - were attacked earlier on Thursday," Gumla divisional forest officer Shrikant told TOI.

Pati's seven-year-old grandson Ashish who was with her ran back to the village to seek help. Three men, identified as Lura Kisan, Vijay Kisan and Durga Kisan, who rushed to Pati's help, were also injured in the attack.

A pack of stray dogs attacked a 12-year-old girl Sahiba in Nalhera village of Saharanpur district on Thursday. The badly mauled child succumbed to her injuries during treatment in a hospital on Friday.

The district has witnessed four incidents within a month when stray dogs attacked children, causing three of them to die.

Villagers have approached district officials to get rid of the stray dogs but nothing has been done yet to catch the canines and ensure safety of children.

In the latest incident, Sahiba was on her way back to her village from a local fair in Chilkana town, with other girls of her age.

A pack of stray dogs attacked the girls who managed to escape but Sahiba suffered multiple dog bites. The passers-by somehow saved her and informed her family in the village. She was taken to a village doctor who allowed her to go after providing initial treatment. Her condition deteriorated the next day and she was taken to a hospital in Saharanpur where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

A woman in South Carolina died after she was attacked by her own dog Thursday, according to the coroner's office.

The Newberry County coroner said 45-year-old Erin Beach was killed in the attack.

Police received a 911 call from the home Thursday afternoon. When deputies and EMS arrived on scene, the coroner's office said the dog was aggressive toward them as well, resulting in the death of the dog.

Investigators said they do not yet know what prompted the dog to attack its owner.

The UN Security Council held an extraordinary event on April 6 under the rubric Arria Formula Meeting on Biological Security regarding the biological activities in countries including Ukraine. Predictably, the US and UK representatives didn't show up at the event and the western media also blacked out the proceedings. But that does not detract from the profound significance of what transpired.

The highlight of the Security Council proceedings lasting over two hours was the disclosure by General Igor Kirillov, chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, that Washington is creating biological laboratories in different countries and connecting them to a unified system.

He said the US has spent more than $5 billion on military biological programmes since 2005 and detailed that in territories bordering Russia and China alone, about 60 facilities have been modernised during this period. The Ukrainian network of laboratories is designed to conduct research and monitor the biological situation consisting of 30 facilities in 14 populated locations.

Comment: The Russians are not accustomed to making claims without being able to back them up.

An about 3-meter-long giant squid was found stranded on a beach here on April 20, in what local authorities said was a rare occurrence.

At around 10 a.m., a nearby resident spotted the squid at Ugu beach in Obama, Fukui Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan coast. According to the Obama Municipal Government, the squid was still alive when it was found. It is unusual for a giant squid to be washed ashore alive, officials said.

The deep-sea creature will be transported to Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in the prefectural city of Sakai.

Billings police detectives are investigating a fatal dog mauling.

An 85-year-old woman has died after being mauled by a dog on April 8 in the Billings Heights, the city's spokesperson Victoria Hill confirmed Monday.

It hasn't been stated publicly yet where in the Heights the attack occurred, what kind of dog it was, or whether or not the dog was on a leash.

"The dog is in custody and in quarantine," said police Sgt. Nate West.
