Dramatic video shows a tense encounter between a bear and a group of men celebrating the Fourth of July on Mount Wilson.
According to the man who took the video, three men were waiting for the fireworks to start at Mount Wilson around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night when a small bear suddenly appeared from the bushes and attacked the men and their snacks.
One of the victims was bitten by the bear, but his injury was said to be non-life-threatening.

Emergency surgery overnight on shark attack victim Joe Hoffman is expected to save his right arm, after he was mauled by a white shark while surfing at Crescent Head on the NSW Mid North Coast on Monday.
The 25-year-old Sunshine Coast man suffered severe injuries to his right arm when he was attacked at Killick Beach. He was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle on Monday evening.
Mid North Coast police officer Inspector Martin Bourke said he was confident Mr Hoffman's arm would be saved thanks to the efforts of trauma doctors and nurses, who were on the beach at the time of the attack.
"For a terrible situation, it was almost the perfect storm in terms of the expertise on the ground," Inspector Bourke said.
In a horrifying accident, a paraglider was attacked by a shark in the Red Sea. The shark tore a chunk out of the man's foot.
Ffootage of the incident showed the 37-year-old Jordanian hovering above the surface of the Red Sea when the shark suddenly leapt out of the water and sank its teeth in the man's leg.
Following the attack, emergency services rushed the man to Jordan's Prince Hashem Military Hospital. While his condition has been described as stable, the attack resulted in loss of back part of his foot as well as several tendons.
Mohammed Khalil Al Zabada of the College of Marine Sciences told local media that shark attacks in the Gulf of Aqaba are rare. According to him, there are many types of shark in the Red Sea, but they would not normally swim in shallow water off the Jordanian coast.
Several incidents of shark attack have been reported in the Red Sea in recent years.
Heavy rain has been causing deaths and property damage in southern parts of the country, especially in South Jeolla Province, since Monday evening.
While heavy rain alerts have already been issued in the southern regions, more rain is forecast there throughout the week, raising concerns over more damage.
More than 500 millimeters of rainfall has fallen in some parts of South Jeolla Province and South Gyeongsang Province since Monday night, inundating houses and farmland.
A woman in her 60s was swept away by water near her house in Haenam, South Jeolla Province, and was found dead, according to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, which suspected that she had drowned.

Locals try to save 12 pilot whales that were found stranded in tidal flats in eastern China.
Twelve pilot whales were found stranded in tidal flats in eastern China on Tuesday morning, with two of the whales already suspected to be dead.
Rescue efforts from local government officials, fishermen and volunteers started quickly after the discovery but none of the whales had been rescued as of Tuesday afternoon.
The whales were first discovered by fishermen in Linhai, a city near the ocean in Zhejiang province in eastern China. The fishermen called the police and said that "there were a lot of big fish" on the mudflats, according to Qianjiang Evening News.
The police at first thought they were dolphins and started by contacting experts from a local aquarium. When aquarium staff arrived at the scene, they identified the animals as pilot whales, which are part of the dolphin family.
A storm with hail fell this afternoon in the municipalities of Naucalpan, Atizapán de Zaragoza , Tlalnepantla and Huixquilucan, which caused streets and roads to become flooded with levels of more than 40 centimeters of water and hail.
The level of hail covered streets, cars, gardens and garages of houses in subdivisions such as Satélite, Lomas de Bellavista, Lomas Verdes and on the Via Jorge Jiménez Cantú that communicates with the Madín dam and Zona Esmeralda.

Authorities in Krasnodar Region of Russia declared a state of emergency after torrential rain caused flooding over the last 2 days. Strong winds and rough seas have also caused damage.
Heavy rainfall in the region began on 04 July 2021, worsening on 05 July. The Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Krasnodar Region, EMERCOM, said that the coastal town of Dzhubga recorded 170 mm of rain. Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Krasnodar Krai, said some areas saw more than 2 months' worth of rain in a few hours. The Khorota and Matsesta rivers, among others, both broke their banks.
The Krasnodar regional government declared an emergency due to flooding for areas of Sochi, Gelendzhik, Tuapse, Slavyansky, Seversky and Goryachy Klyuch. As of 06 July, over 660 homes and yards were flooded.
Several homes were destroyed by a landslide amid torrential rain in the city of Atami in the Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. With around 20 people missing, officials have called in the army for help.
A video posted on social media shows a powerful flood sweeping away several houses on hilly terrain. A fire truck is seen driving away from the flood, while a firefighter runs for his life.
Rescuers in Japan searched on Monday for 80 people believed to be missing two days after landslides tore through the seaside city of Atami, destroying houses and burying roads under mud and rock.
The official death toll from the landslides that hit early on Saturday is four, according to Atami city spokesperson Hiroki Onuma, while the number of missing had come down from 113 earlier...
...Atami, with a population of 36,000, is 90 km (60 miles) southwest of Tokyo, set on a steep slope leading down to a bay. It is famous for a hot springs resort.The landslides are a reminder of the natural disasters - including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunami - that haunt Japan, where the capital Tokyo is to host the summer Olympics beginning this month.
The landslides were triggered by torrential downpours - with some areas receiving more rain in 24 hours than they would usually get for the whole of July. About 130 buildings were affected in Atami. Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato called for vigilance, with the ground so saturated and weakened that even light rain could prove dangerous.
