3 arrested Russian scientists accused of handing hypersonic missile secrets to China

A week ago, just as Ukraine was claiming to have shot down Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, three top Russian scientists who've reportedly worked on the country's hypersonic program were arrested on suspicion of treason.

The Kremlin had said the three face "very serious accusations". They were identified as Anatoly Maslov, Alexander Shiplyuk and Valery Zvegintsev - and worked at the Khristianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk. Shiplyuk was actually director of the institute, thus the highly visible case has sent shockwaves through the Russian ruling establishment and academic community.

The arrests were under mysterious circumstances, given the Kremlin didn't spell out the details of the allegations against them, and immediately set off rare public outcry from other scientists angered over their detention.

When pressed on the nature and specifics of the case, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov only said that security services are being extra watchful concerning potential cases of "betrayal of the motherland" at this sensitive time of the war in Ukraine.

600,000 Americans per year are dying from COVID shots says top insurance analyst

Josh Stirling
Former Bernstein senior analyst Josh Stirling draws a shocking conclusion from UK government health data.

Those vaccinated against COVID-19 have a 26 percent higher mortality rate on average compared to those who declined the jab - and the death toll is even more staggering for vaccinated people under 50 years old, where mortality is 49 percent higher than for those unvaccinated.

The shocking numbers are based on government data from the United Kingdom and were brought to Senator Ron Johnson's (R-WI) attention by Josh Stirling, one of the nation's top insurance analysts and formerly Senior Research Analyst for U.S. nonlife insurance at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.

Comment: Since the US projections are inferred from UK government data, all this assumes that Americans, on the whole, received the same types of Covid vaccines that were given in the UK. So the numbers of dying could be better or worse in the US - depending on this and other variables not contained in Stirling's assessment.

San Francisco Mayor & city leaders booed out of drug-infested Union Square as brick thrown in crowd

San Francisco Mayor London Breed and the city's board of supervisors were forced to retreat inside after a meeting they attempted to hold in a notorious open-air drug market was disrupted by jeers, shouting and a woman who hurled a brick into the crowd, according to a report.

On Tuesday, city leaders decided to hold the meeting outdoors in United Nations Plaza to highlight problems plaguing the area — including surging fentanyl overdoses — and to discuss potential solutions, KRON4 reported.

Breed and Supervisor Aaron Peskin took to the podium and proclaimed the city has been tolerating "illegal, out-of-control behavior for far too long."

"Many San Franciscans do not feel safe," Peskin said. "Brazen drug dealing and deteriorating street conditions have exacerbated a humanitarian crisis on our streets."

But less than 10 minutes after the meeting began, it was cut short as the crowd hurled insults at the mayor and supervisors until they just walked away from the podium, according to KRON.

Comment: Breed actually sounds like she might be finally on the right track. Will the woke, lefty bureaucrats running San Francisco who carry on the legacy of Soros-backed former DA George Gascon, go along with it?

COVID vaccine-injured sue Biden Administration over censorship

A woman who suffered severe nerve damage after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination and four others with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 vaccine injuries launched a lawsuit against President Joe Biden and his administration on May 22.

Top government officials violated the plaintiffs' rights to free speech and peaceful assembly when they pressured Big Tech companies to crack down on people sharing their experience after receiving the COVID-19 vaccines, Brianne Dressen, the woman, and the other plaintiffs say.

"Through threats, pressure, inducement, and coercion, Defendants now work in concert with social media companies to censor content the government deems 'disinformation,' 'misinformation,' and 'malinformation' — a feat that the government could never lawfully accomplish alone," the 124-page suit, filed in U.S. court in southern Texas, states.

Target customers shocked after company features pride items by Satanist partner: Devil is 'hope' and 'love'

'Satan loves you and respects who you are,' Target pride partner's social media post reads.

Target has found itself in hot water again over its gay pride collection, this time because of its partnership with a controversial designer.

The major retailer partnered with U.K.-based brand Abprallen to sell merchandise with pro-LGBTQ messages to celebrate Pride month. A search on Target's website finds some of the items.

Comment: Things seem to be escalating as Target has cited threats to employees. More from NBC:
Mega retailer Target is pulling some of its merchandise that celebrates Pride month after threats to employees, the company said Tuesday.

"Since introducing this year's collection, we've experienced threats impacting our team members' sense of safety and wellbeing while at work," a Target spokesperson said in a statement.

"Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior," the spokesperson said.

The retailer's decision comes amid a wider national debate over civil rights for transgender people.

Target did not say which items were being removed or immediately provide more details about the threats.

The collection includes "tuck-friendly" swimsuits that allow trans people who have not had gender-affirming operations to conceal their private parts, The Associated Press has previously reported.

Those swimsuits, which are available only in adult sizes, were used in false and misleading claims by critics online.

The Target spokesperson did not answer whether those bathing suits were among the products in question.

The retailer said that it has offered products to go along with Pride month for more than a decade. Pride Month is June, and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people and issues.

Ford reverses plan to drop AM radio stations from new vehicles after backlash

Ford Motor Company will install AM radios in all of its 2024 models after previously saying they would not be included, CEO Jim Farley announced on Tuesday following backlash the company received.

"After speaking with policy leaders about the importance of AM broadcast radio as a part of the emergency alert system, we've decided to include it on all 2024 @Ford & @LincolnMotorCo vehicles," Farley tweeted. AM radio station owners, listeners, first responders and politicians across party lines all previously pushed back against car companies, including Ford, when they announced they would be eliminating AM radios from new models, according to The Washington Post.

A bipartisan group of senators introduced the AM for Every Vehicle Act on Wednesday, which would mandate that car manufacturers continue including AM radios in new models without raising prices.

Who are the die-hard pro-maskers refusing to admit defeat?

Woman with a mask
As time moves on, and the Covid event is seen in the rearview mirror, the arguments still trying to justify the draconian pandemic restrictions sound increasingly implausible. A prominent example is the argument for community masking. Despite the recently published Cochrane Review reaching the same conclusion as previous evidence evaluations - that face coverings do not achieve any appreciable reduction in viral transmission - seams of pro-mask rhetoric persist in the mainstream media. What is the engine room for these spreaders of misinformation? Is it those who seem committed to world government who are responsible?

Russia is speeding up the construction of a corridor in its Far East region in a bid to export more grain to Inner Mongolia in Northeast China.

On Wednesday, the same day the Ukraine military said it had driven Russian infantry back from some positions around Bakhmut, the Kremlin said that it will boost its grain exports to China via the New Land Grain Corridor.

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the cabinet and the central bank to work out an intergovernmental agreement to boost grain exports to China by October 1, Russia's national day, Russian news agency TASS reported.

Chinese state media said that, after tariffs, quotas and logistic problems are solved, China will import more wheat and barley from Russia and reduce its reliance on grain imported from western countries including Australia, the US, Canada and France.

BLM recorded $9M deficit in 2022 — but still paid millions to execs: tax docs

Black Lives Matter ended last year with a nearly $9 million deficit — while still paying out millions to organizers as well as relatives of controversial co-founder Patrisse Cullors.

Tax documents posted online show that BLM's Global Network Foundation ended the financial year in the red to the tune of $8,559,748.

The filings show that the nonprofit recorded revenue of $8.5 million — roughly half of the more than $17 million it spent.

That deficit is made even more extreme given that the previous year, it actually increased its piggybank, earning nearly $42 million after expenses.

The financial hit also left the group with $30 million in assets, down nearly $11.75 million from where it started the financial year.

That means it has spent two-thirds of the $90 million it raised, which Cullors — who quit over earlier financial scandals highlighted by The Post — previously dismissed as "white guilt money."

Despite the crunch, millions of dollars were paid to companies with close ties to the group — including one owned by Shalomyah Bowers, who replaced Cullors when she quit.

An independent auditors' review of the previous two years, also posted online, showed that Bowers' company was paid a staggering $1.69 million "for management and consulting services."

Woke LA DA George Gascón has 10,000-case backlog, 'toxic' attitude driving staff away: sources

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón is an "authoritarian" and "toxic" manager whose ultra-woke approach has led scores of prosecutors to quit and 10,000 cases to pile up, sources tell The Post.

Justice is not being served in the most populous county in the nation because Gascón has driven talent away, demoted top lawyers and fights anyone who doesn't share his views, according to multiple sources who have worked for him.

One former LA prosecutor said Gascón's policies have eroded trust with the public the office serves, through generous plea deals allowing criminals to get out of jail or prison without serving hard time or declining to prosecute crimes at all.

"In my career as a prosecutor, I've never had victims' families actually hate us until I came into this office," a former deputy DA told The Post.

"We are hated by all the victims because of lack of prosecution and low sentences because of his policies.

"Gascón is so focused on justice for black and brown defendants, but the victims and their families are also black and brown. Where is the justice for them? We are making them victims of the criminal justice system yet again."
