In a newly filed lawsuit, a woman is alleging that she was targeted and physically attacked by a local police officer just days after she testified against one of the officer's colleagues in court.
Police initially received an anonymous call about a suspect who left a restaurant without paying her bill of $63.57. Officers arrived and arrested Jessica Mooney, 24, on charges of petty theft and child endangerment.
However, the
Miami New Times reported that Mooney had a copy of the receipt showing that she had paid the bill and the evidence is now included in her lawsuit against the department.
Comment: It's pretty clear what happened here - police vengeance for testifying against their buddy on the force. Absolutely despicable.

Bastion of free speech, Twitter is not.
Maxine Waters has been accusing critics of being Russian bots, and apparently @TrueJackDaniel didn't appreciate it.
Comment: It's funny how Twitter users telling the truth are suspended, while Maxine Waters' lies, calling everyone critical of her a bot, get a pass.
New York City may be one of the most diverse cities in the world, but
it's also one of the most segregated cities in the United States.
Take a look at these
maps from Daniel Kay Hertz, a masters student at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Hertz used data from the 2012 Census American Community Survey to show how segregated New York City really is.
The maps below shows first, a map of New York City neighborhoods that are less than 2 percent black and less than 2 percent white, then neighborhoods with less than 5 percent of those populations, then 10 percent. The takeaway: a wide swath of the city is segregated, if not
hyper-segregated.

Comment: It's actually 'worse' than that.
Watch this 10-minute presentation of Schelling's Model applied to NYC, which shows that ALL races 'auto-segregate' - and also by income - and that
they do so even when they're very tolerant. In fact, this exposes the ideals that certain people make a big show of espousing... to be largely fake, and certainly irrelevant.
And this is NYC, World Liberal HQ!
'Segregate' is obviously a loaded term, intended to suggest that people
intentionally do it, and that policy can 'fix' it. People, for the most part, don't intentionally do it. In fact, the process occurs
in spite of whatever high-falutin' ideals they espouse.
The proper term is that people
discriminate, unconsciously for the most part.
"Shock! Horror! How can SOTT say such a thing?"
Because that's
what it is. Despite decades of policies to make people color/class-blind, it continues happening naturally - even when people aren't consciously thinking about it!
We're here to tell you that it's ok to discriminate.
Just as it's ok to be white.
So everyone just chill out, and acknowledge that you might not always know your own motivations.

The UK is expecting another tanker of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG), as an abnormally-cold winter causes shortages.
There have also been price spikes for gas, which is needed for heating.
The F
inancial Times reports that the LNG cargo is coming from Russia's Yamal plant in the far north. The bad weather conditions, dubbed the 'Beast from the East', has resulted in a 400-percent rise in consumer
gas prices, which reached 12-year highs.Shell is expected to deliver the Russian gas on March 6 to an LNG terminal at Milford Haven, convert it into a gaseous state and pump it into the UK network. Last week, the UK National Grid announced that, amid growing demand, the country was facing a
threat of a gas shortage. The warning was the first of its kind issued in eight years.
Comment: The sanctions regime is only implemented when the West has the upper hand, when they need something or they can make some money
however...
As noted in:
Russia, help! UK runs out of gas amid record cold - Prices skyrocket
Britain has thwarted any possibility of cheap and reliable gas from Russia both through sanctions and by blocking infrastructure projects in Europe. If the people of Britain can't cook their food, heat their homes, and end up paying predatory rates for their energy, they only have themselves and their demented leaders to blame.

In late December 2017, a 15-year-old asylum seeker from Afghanistan killed a local girl of the same age in the German town of Kandel, sending shockwaves through the community.
A rally which brought together anti-immigration demonstrators in the German town of Kandel became violent when attendees encountered left-wing activists.
Protesters carried placards reading "Freedom instead of Islam" and "Merkel must go," incited by the young girl's
brutal stabbing death, which occurred in Kandel in late December.
A heavy police presence failed to prevent clashes between the anti-immigration activists and participants of a massive leftist counter-protest in Kandel, who shouted slogans such as "Nazis out!" and "Together against racism!"

Former Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice gave the ladies of ABC's
The View a history lesson on Thursday as they discussed the Second Amendment.
Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts were once again looking for legislative answers to the Feb. 14 massacre in Parkland, Florida, but
Ms. Rice told them to look for clues in Birmingham, Alabama. She said that Democrat lawmaker "Bull" Connor and the Ku Klux Klan's disdain for black citizens who could defend themselves convinced her at a young age of the importance of gun rights.
"Let me tell you why I'm a defender of the Second Amendment," former President George W. Bush's top diplomat told the panel. "I was a little girl growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, in the late '50s, early '60s. There was no way that Bull Connor and the Birmingham police were going to protect you."
