RCMP billed taxpayers nearly $250K for buffets during Freedom Convoy crackdown

The RCMP billed taxpayers nearly a quarter-million dollars for buffets at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier while officers cracked down on Freedom Convoy protesters in Ottawa this February.

An Access to Information and Privacy request obtained by True North reveals that the total costs for breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in the luxury hotel's Canadian Room was $234,995.79. The RCMPs National Division of Financial Management told True North:
"The enclosed invoice for the lodgement of RCMP officers, other police services and staff at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier totals $234,995.79 and consists of costs pertaining to meals provided in conference rooms used as shelter/down rooms from February 11th to 25th. At no time did RCMP members stay in accommodations at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier between January 20, 2022 and March 3, 2022."
Since officers did not use accommodations at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, the total bill for their stay in Ottawa is likely much higher.

The director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Israel has condemned Canadian troops for training neo-Nazi fighters in Ukraine, saying it was Ottawa's responsibility to make sure such things did not happen. The Canadian military, however, denied any obligation to vet the training recipients.

"The Canadian government didn't do its due diligence," Efraim Zuroff told the Ottawa Citizen on Wednesday. "It's the responsibility of the Canadian Defense Ministry to know exactly who they are training.

"There is no question that there are neo-Nazis in different forms in Ukraine, whether they are in the Azov regiment or other organizations," he added.

The British Army has lost its right to diplomatic immunity against lawsuits in Kenya in a landmark ruling over a massive bushfire allegedly caused by 'cocaine-taking' UK soldiers based in the African country.

A huge wildfire at Lolldaiga Hills Ranch, a 49,000-acre sanctuary which houses the Nanyuki army base used by Britain for military drills, broke out in March last year and caused widespread devastation, putting more than 1,000 locals at risk of drought.

In the ensuing chaos, Linus Murangiri, an employee of Lolldaiga conservancy, was crushed to death by a vehicle as he rushed to help put out the fire, leaving behind his wife and two sons.

Apple and Google have admitted that between December 24, 2020, and March 15, 2021, the Department of Justice issued nine secret subpoenas and warrants to the tech companies for private information on Project Veritas journalists, said Veritas founder and CEO James O'Keefe in a video released on Wednesday.

"The services we all use everyday have also been compromised. New documents revealed that professional and private accounts from Apple and Google were secretly obtained as well. There are thousands of these secret orders issued every year, ours is just a fraction of that. Every day American citizens are also being spied on... signed without so much as a hearing," said O'Keefe, showing a letter from the DOJ to Google signed by the US Attorney in the Southern District of New York.

Brooklyn subway attack suspect Frank James arrested UPDATE: Facing federal charges

Following a manhunt for the suspect behind the Brooklyn Subway shooting, Frank James has reportedly been taken into custody.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to the New York Post on Wednesday afternoon that 62-year-old James has been taken into custody.

Comment: Prior to his arrest, CNN had done some digging on James' social media postings.
Frank James, the man named by the New York City Police Department as a person of interest in the Brooklyn subway shooting, talked about violence and mass shootings in multiple rambling videos posted on YouTube, including one uploaded Monday in which he said he's thought about killing people who have presumably hurt him.

CNN has linked the YouTube videos to James because a screenshot from one of them is being used on a NYPD Crimestoppers flyer. Also, in one of the videos, he posts a City of New York ID card from a past educational training program.

In what appears to be his latest video posted Monday, James talks about someone who engaged in violence and ended up in jail. He said he could identify, but talked about the consequences.

"I've been through a lot of s**t, where I can say I wanted to kill people. I wanted to watch people die right in front of my f**king face immediately. But I thought about the fact that, hey man, I don't want to go to no f**king prison."

Many of the videos that James uploaded included references to violence, including at a set group of people he believed had maligned him, in addition to broad societal and racial groups that he appeared to hate.

In another video posted last week, James, who is Black, rants about abuse in churches and racism in the workplace, using misogynistic and racist language.

After talking about community violence, James said, "We need to see more mass shootings. Yeah. ... We need to see more, there has to be more mass shootings to make a n***er understand. ... It's not about the shooter; it's about the environment in which he is, he has to exist."

That speech was a common theme throughout James' videos, in which he repeatedly espoused hatred toward African Americans.

In another video posted last month to the same channel, James said that he had post-traumatic stress. In that video, James said he left his home in Milwaukee on March 20. During the trip eastward, he said he was heading to the "danger zone."

"You know, it's triggering a lot of negative thoughts of course," he said in the video. "I do have a severe case of post-traumatic stress."

UPDATE: From RT, reporting James will be federally charged with a terrorist or violent attack:
Police in New York City have tracked down and arrested Frank R. James, suspected of firing over 30 rounds into a crowded subway station on Tuesday. He faces federal charges for a terrorist or violent attack on public transit, and life in prison if convicted, prosecutors said on Wednesday afternoon.

US Attorney Breon Peace said that James will be charged with a federal offense, under a statute that outlaws terrorism and violent attacks in mass transit systems. Peace said that there was no indication James had ties to terrorist organizations, domestic or international, and his motive remained unclear, however.

According to AP, the authorities are currently investigating his financial and telephone records, as well as hours of "rambling, profanity-filled videos James posted on YouTube and other social media platforms" in search of a motive.

One video, posted on Monday, shows James criticizing crime against black Americans and urging drastic action. "It's not going to get better until we make it better," he said, according to AP, adding that things would only change if certain people were "stomped, kicked and tortured" out of their "comfort zone."

"This nation was born in violence, it's kept alive by violence or the threat thereof and it's going to die a violent death. There's nothing going to stop that," he reportedly said in another video.

It was not possible to independently verify these reports, as James' YouTube channel has been banned for "violating community guidelines."

AP said that in other videos and social media posts James mentioned NYC subways, referred to himself as a "victim" of the city's mental health programs, and criticized the new mayor Eric Adams - also African-American - for his plan to end gun violence.

Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell has called the videos "concerning" and bolstered Adams' security detail, as the mayor quarantined with Covid-19.

According to Newsweek, the FBI flagged James as a potential terrorist and put him on a watchlist, only to clear him after multiple interviews sometime in 2019.

After briefly dropping in the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) then resurged beyond 2019 levels to finish the year at a record high, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Researchers with the CDC said its report, 2020 Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance, shows how Covid-19 disrupted in-person healthcare and diverted scarce public health resources away from STIs, which had been on the rise for years.

Ultimately, diverting resources to Covid-19 caused young people, racial minorities and gay and bisexual men to suffer disproportionately from new infections, it said.


Comment: Rather than this just being due to a lack of access to healthcare, is it also because there was actually an increase in sexual activity amongst these populations?

There are only a handful of Western journalists on the ground in Donbass, while the Western mainstream press is rubber-stamping fake news about the Ukrainian crisis using the same templates it previously exploited in Iraq, Libya and Syria, says Dutch independent journalist Sonja van den Ende.

Sonja van den Ende, an independent journalist from Rotterdam, Netherlands, went to the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics as an embedded reporter with the Russian army to see how the special operation is unfolding with her own eyes.

The sound of shelling and explosion does not frighten her: she's gotten used to it. Seven years ago, van den Ende worked in Syria, months before the Russians stepped in at the request of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and changed the tide. The parallels between the Western mainstream press' coverage of the Syrian and the Ukrainian conflicts are striking, according to her.
"They lie continuously about everything just to implement their own agenda," van den Ende. "Like in Syria, President Assad was 'the murderer' and now President Putin is 'the butcher.' They had used this script for many years in Iraq, Venezuela and [other] countries which don't comply with their agenda; they need a bad "guy". But they (media) are not even there on the ground, they can't judge. Only a handful of journalists from the West are here: Graham Philips, Patrick Lancaster, Anne-Laure Bonnel and me."

Comment: Control of the narrative is the most important thing for the West in order to control not least its own population. Thus all Russian media outlets are being censored across the board and the Tech giants are happily helping. It is admirable what these independent journalists do when they then do go to the war zone to report on what is happening as they not only risk their lives but also get smeared online for their courageous acts.

Van den Ende mentions Putin's famous speech in 2007 where he made it clear that the unipolar world had to end. It was the day when the West discovered that Putin was not on their side and the demonization of him picked up speed. Here is the speech for those who would like a refresher:

It has long been known that the covid vaccines were non-sterilizing. It has also been known, based on the countries like the UK that report the stats honestly that the vaccinated are at greater risk of contracting covid than the unvaxxed. This has even been known about the boosters.

But where this gets really worrying is this: each new variant is seeing this relative risk rate rise and the rate of rise is accelerating. This is, unfortunately, exactly what one would predict as a leaky vaccine with a strong tendency to antigenically fixate those having received it drives viral evolution to prey upon this vulnerability. herd OAS replaces herd immunity and vaccine driven evolution does the rest.

The UK data is getting really stark here. let's look.

I took the raw data from the vaccine reports and compared cases per 100k population in vaccinated vs unvaxxed. this meant comparing 2 doses to vaxx pre 2022 and 3 doses vs unvaxx in 2022 as the 2d figure was discontinued.

A new poll reveals that Americans are not happy with Disney after the company embraced the LGBTQ movement.

A new survey found that nearly 7 in 10 Americans no longer want to do "business" with Disney and will instead seek out "family-friendly alternatives."

The poll found that a whopping 68.2% of voters are now "less likely to do business with Disney." Of that number, 57.2% said they are "much less likely" to buy from Disney.
