Hezbollah "crossed all lines" with a rocket attack that killed ten people, Israel Katz has said.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has vowed to launch a "disproportionate" response after Hezbollah allegedly killed ten people in a rocket attack on a football field in the Golan Heights. The incident has brought Israel to the brink of "all-out war" with the group, Katz has warned.

Most of the dead were children, and more than a dozen were injured by the strike in the town of Majdal Shams on Saturday, according to Israel's Magen David Adom ambulance service. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) blamed the attack on "the Hezbollah terror group."

Katz told Israel's Channel 12 News:
"There is no doubt that Hezbollah crossed all red lines. We are facing an all-out war. Israel will respond disproportionately."
Katz said that he would "not go into detail" on what such a response would look like, but claimed that Israel has the "full backing" of the US and Europe to escalate against Hezbollah.

Comment: Additional information from The Times of Israel:
At least 12 children were killed Saturday, and dozens more people were wounded, when a rocket fired from Lebanon hit a soccer field in the northern Druze town of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights. It was the single deadliest Hezbollah attack on northern Israel since fighting there began in October.

Residents and first responders described scenes of bloody carnage on the pitch. Though a warning siren had sounded, it was too short an alert for the victims, who were unable to flee in time. The IDF said late Saturday that all 12 fatalities were aged 10-20.

The shocking attack led to swift promises of retaliation and talk of an unprecedented response among Israeli officials as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hurried home from the US, raising the specter of a fresh escalation and a potential full-blown war between Israel and the Lebanese terror group.

A Biden administration official expressed concern that the deadly Hezbollah strike could spark an all-out war between Israel and the Iran-backed terror group. "What happened today could be the trigger we have been worried about and tried to avoid for 10 months."

Politicians from across the spectrum expressed outrage at the attack and criticized the government's failure to bring security to the north demanding decisive action against Hezbollah.

Baruch Padeh Medical Center near Tiberias said four people in serious condition were brought to the hospital. Ziv Medical Center in Safed said it admitted 32 wounded, including six being treated in the trauma ward, 13 in moderate-to-serious condition, and 10 who were lightly hurt. Another four casualties were taken to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

Medics declared 10 of the victims dead at the scene, while two were declared dead at hospitals, officials said.

"We witnessed great destruction when we arrived at the soccer field, as well as items that were on fire. There were casualties on the grass and the scene was gruesome," said Idan Avshalom, a medic with the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

As news emerged of the heavy rocket hitting the Druze town, and the deadly outcome of the strike, the terror group issued a statement that it had "absolutely nothing to do with the incident." The army rejected that assertion, saying the attack "was carried out by the Hezbollah terror group" while citing "assessments carried out by the IDF and reliable intelligence information available to us."

The IDF said it had determined that the rocket was launched by the terror group from an area just north of the Lebanese village of Chebaa.
"A Falaq-1 rocket struck here in the soccer field, it is an Iranian rocket, manufactured in Iran, a rocket with a warhead of over 50 kilograms of explosives. The forensic findings at the scene point to this rocket. Falaq-1 is only in use by the Hezbollah terror group, which carried out this attack from Chebaa...In the past hour, Hezbollah has been lying and denying responsibility for the incident...Our intelligence is clear, Hezbollah is responsible for the murder of innocent children."
Col. Avichay Adraee said the attack was directed by Ali Muhammad Yahya, who is the commander of a rocket launching site in the Chebaa area.

Israeli officials signaled the military response to the Hezbollah rocket attack would likely be a very aggressive one. "Gallant determined the courses of action and instructed the defense establishment accordingly," the Defense Ministry said in a statement. The minister had held an assessment with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, head of the Shin Bet Ronen Bar, head of the Mossad David Barnea, and other officials.

Channel 12 cited a senior Israeli official in the prime minister's delegation to Washington as saying: "The events in the north will bring about a dramatic turning point in fighting in the area."

A security official told the public broadcaster:
"The disaster at Majdal Shams could signal a change of direction in the war. This is an incident that we will not gloss over. There will be a severe response."

Netanyahu, who was still in the US on Saturday after his speech to Congress and meetings with top American officials, moved up his flight back to Israel by several hours following the attack.

The attack came after the IDF on Saturday afternoon struck a cell of Hezbollah gunmen at a weapons depot in southern Lebanon's Kafr Kila. The military said the operatives were identified by troops of the 869th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit entering the weapons depot, and a short while later, an airstrike was carried out. Hezbollah later confirmed that four of its operatives, members of the terror group's elite Nukhba force, were killed in the strike.
As per Reuters:
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said there was every indication that the rocket, which hit a sports field where children were playing football, had been fired by Hezbollah and said Washington stood by Israel's right to defend itself. But he said the U.S. did not want a further escalation of the conflict, which has seen daily exchanges of fire between the Israeli military and Hezbollah along the border. Britain expressed concern at further escalation while Egypt said the attack could spill "into a comprehensive regional war."

It was not immediately clear if the children and teenagers killed in the strike were Israeli citizens, but Israeli officials have vowed retaliation.

Two security sources told Reuters Hezbollah was on high alert and had cleared out some key sites in both Lebanon's south and the eastern Bekaa Valley in case of an Israeli attack. Lebanon's Middle East Airlines said it was delaying the arrival of some flights from Sunday night to Monday morning, without stating why.

United Nations officials urged maximum restraint from both sides, warning that escalation could "engulf the entire region in a catastrophe beyond belief." Lebanon has asked the U.S to urge restraint from Israel, Lebanon's foreign minister Abdallah Bou Habib said the U.S. had asked Lebanon's government to pass on a message to Hezbollah to show restraint as well.

Iran's foreign ministry warned Israel on Sunday against what it called any new adventure in Lebanon. Syria's foreign ministry said it held Israel "fully responsible for this dangerous escalation in the region" and said its accusations against Hezbollah were false. Two diplomats focused on Lebanon said all efforts were now needed to avoid an all-out war.

Druze communities live on both sides of the line between southern Lebanon and northern Israel as well as in the Golan Heights and Syria.
And, then there is THIS:
Israel has done what Israel does best: Falsify accusations to create opportunistic circumstances to further its diabolical agenda and engage global support at the expense of (this time) the lives of its own children.
"An Israeli ambulance member heard from eyewitnesses that an interception missile was what fell in Majdal Shams, and some said that they saw a missile launched from the Iron Dome from Mount Hermon and it fell towards the stadium."

Impeccable Timing: This deadly and heart-wrenching accident was conveniently appropriated for Netanyahu's war/hate agenda on the heels of his Washington DC pep rally. The man can't stoop too low fast enough.

War criminal Benjamin Netanyahu addresses the US Congress

NetiCongs

Lies proliferate and Congress cheers genocide in Gaza.

To my surprise, last Thursday morning there was relatively little coverage of the address to the US Congress delivered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Wednesday afternoon apart from a critical opinion piece that appeared in the New York Times regarding Israel's war on the Palestinians. The article, by Megan K. Stack, asserted:
"History will cast Mr. Netanyahu's visit in deservedly ugly tones. He's not a guest we should aspire to host, but he is a visitor we deserve. Gaza is our war, too, thanks to the indispensable military aid and political cover the US government has lavished on Israel as the death toll climbs... What exploded as a war of retribution against Hamas has looked increasingly like a broader campaign of annihilation — the slaughter of trapped civilians; the excruciating deaths of thousands of children; the destruction of hospitals, schools and much of the civilian infrastructure."
Polls have shown for months that more Americans disapprove than approve of the Israeli onslaught in Gaza, but Congress and the White House are not interested in the views of the public when they are on the receiving end of hundreds of millions of dollars in "donations" from Jewish billionaires.

Kamala Harris played a key role in California's crime catastrophe — voters should be very worried

If what Kamala Harris helped do to California is an indication of what she'd do to the nation, voters should be very, very worried.

As state attorney general from 2011 to 2017, Harris refused to take a position on two ballot initiatives that have come to define modern California — but her office wrote favorable descriptions for both, likely aiding their passage.

Proposition 47 downgraded felony thefts to misdemeanors when the stolen property had a value of less than $950.

Critics have blamed it for the binge shoplifting that has followed — forcing retailers to lock up their inventory or even give up and close stores that can't stay in business because they're constantly being looted.

Proposition 57, meanwhile, allowed the early parole of some inmates to reduce the prison population, introducing violent offenders back into society after serving only half of their sentences.

US police no longer trust FBI - report

The agency has become openly partisan and serves political ends, whistleblowers have said.

Many US state and local law enforcement agencies are refusing to share vital information with the Federal Bureau of Investigation due to concerns that it has become partisan and politicized, according to a whistleblower report submitted to Congress.

The 230-page report was compiled by an alliance of retired and active-duty agents and analysts, who spoke to more than 30 "independent, highly credible" sources across the US. The report's authors said:
"They are not only reluctant to work with the FBI but reportedly have decided to no longer share actionable, substantive information on criminal and other intelligence-related activity with the Bureau, because they believe it has been operating as a partisan federal agency motivated by a political agenda in recent years."
The group described a "crisis of confidence" in FBI-led task forces and a "disturbing loss of trust" in the Bureau as a whole, even as Director Christopher Wray testified to Congress about a "complex threat environment" that is unprecedented in his career.

The report's existence was first reported on Wednesday in the New York Post. The document itself was sent to the House Judiciary and House Oversight committees and posted online.

Comment: Trust the FBI? No Wray!

Cracks in the West: Italy becomes first G-7 country to restore ties with Syria

In a huge development, Italy has broken with its G-7 partners and become the first to restore full diplomatic relations with Syria.

President Bashar al-Assad and his government have long been under US and EU sanctions, having been accused of human rights abuses and war crimes by the West, which funded a decade-long jihadist insurgency in a failed attempt to topple the Syrian leader.

"Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking in front of relevant parliamentary committees Thursday, announced Rome's intention to re-establish diplomatic ties with Syria to prevent Russia from monopolizing diplomatic efforts in the Middle Eastern country," Associated Press reports.

Comment: As the lies about Syria fall away, Assad has been able to begin restoring his nation's place in the world as a strategic geolocation, with all the influence that implies.

Japan and China resume strategic dialogue after 4 years

china japan
Japan and China have been ramping up communication since their leaders held a meeting in November.
Vice foreign ministers from Japan and China held a strategic dialogue Monday for the first time in four and a half years, as the countries focus on shared interests amid a host of diplomatic challenges.

Masataka Okano and Chinese counterpart Ma Zhaoxu discussed developments in the East and South China seas as well as Ukraine during their talk in Tokyo.

Other topics included Japan's release of treated wastewater from the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and the detention of Japanese nationals in China.

Comment: Developments on the diplomatic front certainly aren't looking favourable for the maniacal 'rules based world order':

Israel's FM claims 'moment of an all-out war' with Hezbollah approaching; Netanyahu leaves US early

Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Israel was approaching an all-out war against Hezbollah and Lebanon after a rocket attack on a football ground in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights killed eleven people on Saturday, Axios reported.

"The Hezbollah attack today crossed all red lines, and the response will be accordingly. We are approaching the moment of an all-out war against Hezbollah and Lebanon," Katz told Axios.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said that Hezbollah will pay a heavy price.

Comment: Yahoo reports:
Israel's Netanyahu returning home early from US after deadly attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is cutting his visit to the United States short and returning to Israel in the wake of an attack that left 10 young people dead.

Netanyahu's office said had been briefed on the attack in the town of Majdal Shams, in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The Israeli military blames the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in southern Lebanon for a wave of rocket fire. It said one rocket hit Majdal Shams. Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the deaths.

"Immediately upon learning of the disaster in Majdal Shams, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed that his return to Israel be brought forward as quickly as possible," said a post on X from Netanyahu's office.

It seems highly unlikely that concern over the attack is the reason.

Netanyahu has been in the US since Monday to shore up support for his war against Hamas in Gaza. He met both candidates for the election in November: Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump.
Whilst Israel has been harping on about launching its attack on Lebanon for weeks now, just a few days ago Israeli media claimed that Netanyahu had secured 'full backing' from Washington to expand its war. And so, with the alleged go ahead from the US, will Israel now use its accidental murder of civilians in the Golan heights as its justification to begin? 'Washington gives Netanyahu full backing to expand war on Lebanon', Israeli media reports

There have also been other significant, related, developments in recent days which may have encouraged such a prompt departure: Other events in the region of note:

Whistleblower: Local cops refusing to share info with FBI as agency suffers 'crisis of confidence' with DEI hires

Christopher Wray
FBI director Christopher Wray
As FBI Director Chris Wray performed his usual smarmy stonewalling in Congress Wednesday, a damning report on his $10 billion agency's "cult of narcissism" was delivered to the House Judiciary Committee by an alliance of retired and active-duty agents and analysts.

The same group gave us the scathing DEI report last year about the FBI's degraded recruitment standards and coddling of physically unfit, mentally ill, drug-taking or generally useless agents to satisfy diversity requirements at the expense of merit and experience.

This time they have assessed the entire bureau and drawn several worrying conclusions, including that local law enforcement partners have developed a "disturbing loss of trust in the FBI" and are therefore reluctant to share information, with alarming consequences for national security and public safety.

"Police officers and sheriff's deputies on patrol and detectives investigating illegal activity in their jurisdictions have unparalleled visibility into street-level crime. ... When this information is not immediately shared with the FBI, the FBI is left to address complex, evolving threats facing the United States with an unacceptably vast and debilitating 'blind spot' because [it] does not have enough personnel and resources to see into every corner of the country."

Real hush money: Biden DOJ 'settles' with Peter Strzok, Lisa Page for combined $2 million on 'privacy' claims

page_strzok
Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and former FBI agent Peter Strzok
"This outcome is a critical step forward in addressing the government's unfair and highly politicized treatment of Pete."

In a Friday night news dump, it was reported that the Biden DOJ had settled with former FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page over claims of Privacy Act violations related to anti-Trump texts exchanged between the two in 2015 and 2016 while they were having an extramarital affair and which were released by the Trump DOJ to reporters for review in December 2017.

Per the NY Times:
The Justice Department settled a lawsuit on Friday with two former F.B.I. officials who had accused the Trump administration of violating their privacy by sharing their texts disparaging former President Donald J. Trump with the news media, according to court documents.

As part of the settlement, the government agreed to pay the former officials, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, concluding at least some of the litigation. The amount was not disclosed in court filings, but Mr. Strzok's law firm said he received $1.2 million.

Their texts incited a political firestorm after the Justice Department in December 2017 invited reporters to review them at night before handing them over to Congress. Then a senior F.B.I. counterintelligence agent who helped oversee the bureau's investigation into the Trump campaign's possible ties to Russia in 2016, Mr. Strzok exchanged inflammatory messages with Ms. Page, a bureau lawyer involved in the inquiry. Republicans seized on the texts to try to discredit the investigation.

Comment: Well it seems the Deep State is getting more brazen. Usually political payoffs come in the form of "book deals".

Battlelines drawn: Trump knocks Harris as a 'bum,' scorns her handling of southern border - 'A failed vice president'

The Harris campaign criticized Trump's speech as 'bitter' and 'bizarre'

Former President Donald Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday as a "bum" responsible for the influx of migrants flowing across the U.S.-Mexico border during her tenure in the Biden administration.

Trump made the comments about Harris at the Turning Point USA Believers Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida. This comes after Harris secured enough delegates for the Democratic Party's top nomination after President Joe Biden dropped his re-election effort, although the party's candidate will not formally be nominated until next month's convention.

"Three weeks ago, she was a bum, a failed vice president and a failed administration with millions of people crossing. And she was the border czar, now they're trying to say she never was," Trump said, referring to recent claims by some media outlets that Harris was never the border czar, although several of the same outlets previously described her as such.

Comment: Washington Examiner adds:
On Friday evening, the GOP nominee spoke to crowds at Turning Point USA Faith's Believers' Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida.

"Americans of faith are the soul of our country," Trump said to cheers.

As he spoke at the faith-themed event, the former president was quick to criticize Harris for her stance on religious liberty.

Trump asked the crowd, "Does everyone here understand the radical left ideology Kamala supports is really militantly hostile towards Americans of faith?"

The former president told the conservatives that Harris "viciously attacked highly qualified judicial nominees simply because they were members of the Knights of Columbus, suggesting that their Catholic faith disqualified them from serving on the federal bench."

Trump referenced an interaction Harris had with judicial nominee Brian Buescher in 2019. At the time, Harris asked Buescher, "Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman's right to choose when you joined the organization?"

Trump continued the religious theme as he criticized Harris for not attending Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress on Wednesday. Harris did meet with Netanyahu on Thursday, but her comments reportedly drew the ire of Israeli officials.

"She doesn't like Jewish people; she doesn't like Israel," he claimed on Friday evening.

The former president told the crowd he asked Netanyahu, "How does a Jewish person vote for a Democrat?" Trump met with the Israeli leader at the former president's Mar-a-Lago resort earlier on Friday.

"We came to a conclusion that it was mostly tradition," Trump said.
