Galloway to run in Labour by-election: 'If I'm the man who ends Starmer's reign as leader, so be it. I'm happy to give the people of Britain their wish'

The beleaguered Labour leader is way behind in the polls, disliked by most voters, and even half of his party's supporters want him to go. I'm hopeful my performance in a crucial looming by-election will deliver the coup de grace.

Sir Keir Starmer, the former director of public prosecutions who played a key role in the persecution of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, may turn out to be the shortest-lived leader of the Labour Party and the least successful. And it falls to me to make that happen on July 1.

Batley and Spen, a constituency which will cease to exist under new parliamentary boundaries just announced, has a chance to write its name in history - before it disappears - in an unexpected by-election which has turned into a last chance saloon for the Labour leader.

What if the 'Big Lie' is the BIG LIE?

Maybe now that Dr. Tony Fauci has begun to spill the beans on his doings in service to the Wuhan virology lab, the phrase "conspiracy theory," flogged by the media as jauntily and incessantly as by the soviet kommissars of yore, will have worn out its welcome.

In a sane polity, Dr. Fauci would be cooked. He looks circumstantially like an epic villain of history, who promoted and funded dangerous research activities knowingly, which led to an international disaster that killed millions of people and destroyed countless livelihoods and households, perhaps even the whole global economy, when all is said and done — and he appears to have lied at every step along the way.

As a practical matter, what is the "Joe Biden" admin going to do about him? Throw him under the bus? I don't think they can at this point. Dr. Fauci has come to represent not just the falsehoods employed around the Covid-19 fiasco but more generally the long campaign against truth itself by a grossly illiberal Jacobin Democratic Party seemingly out to punish and destroy Western Civ.

CPSO to Ontario Doctors: 'Shut up or lose your license'

CPSO sign
© Global News
On April 30, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) announced explicitly a controversial policy that many Ontario doctors had intuitively feared it would adopt. Its Twitter feed, @cpso_ca, contained the framed statement shown below.

CPSO commands Ontario's doctors not to make any statements that might be considered anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing, or anti-lockdown. It forbids them to promote "unsupported, unproven" treatments for COVID-19. (Unproven by what standards? CPSO doesn't say.) Doctors are further forbidden to make comments that might encourage people to act contrary to public health orders.

Finally, there's a naked threat: say the wrong thing and you'll face "disciplinary action". This translates into, "We'll suspend your licence, cut off your income stream and impoverish you." This is a horrifying statement from both a medical and a legal perspective.

A courageous group of doctors calling themselves Canadian Physicians for Science and Truth quickly pushed back with this online Declaration. As I write this, 548 doctors and 14,487 concerned citizens have already signed it.

Sorry Ukraine, Uncle Sam won't be riding to your rescue: Biden delivers essential wake-up call to Kiev, ending years of delusion

Since 2014, the US has encouraged Kiev's leaders to believe that it has their back, come what may. Now, as the Nord Stream 2 pipeline nears completion, the Ukrainian president is screaming betrayal as he realizes he was misled.

A while back, it used to be popular in some circles to play up talk of the "Putinsliv" - the impending sell-out in which Russian President Vladimir Putin was apparently destined to throw the rebels of Donbass under the bus and surrender them to the tender mercies of the Ukrainian government. The irony is that, while Putinsliv never happened, the fury coming out of Kiev this week suggests that Ukraine itself has suffered a dramatic and unexpected "Bidensliv," being sold out by US President Joe Biden.

Biden's predecessor, Donald Trump, had a troubled relationship with the country, which he accused of trying to undermine his election campaign in 2016. Republicans also used the business dealings of Biden's son, Hunter, in Ukraine to paint Trump's Democratic opponent as corrupt. Consequently, Ukrainians generally welcomed Biden's election as president and have viewed him as a much more reliable ally.

Until this week, that is. Now, things are looking a little different.

Comment: Trump didn't have to 'paint' either of the Bidens as corrupt. They proved it themselves.

Comment: Along with naivety comes trust - two unfortunate and unrequited qualities for today's political arena.

Flattened Gaza media tower had Hamas Iron Dome jamming tech inside, claims Israeli diplomat

Israeli jets leveled a 12-story housing complex containing the media offices of the Associated Press and Al-Jazeera in Gaza last month amid the IDF's campaign against Hamas militants firing rockets into Israel. The tower was one of an estimated 1,000 housing units destroyed, and 1,800 made unfit for living, in 11 days of fighting.

Hamas militants were developing "jamming equipment" to disrupt Israel's Iron Dome missile defence system inside the Gaza tower razed by Israeli warplanes on 15 May, Gilad Erdan, Israel's ambassador to the United States, has said.
The ambassador went on to praise the Associated Press (AP), which fired a Jewish journalist over her pro-Palestinian tweets last month, and said Israel did not suspect AP journalists of being aware of the Gaza building's alleged use by Hamas engineers.

"Israel did everything to ensure no employees or civilians were hurt during this operation," Erdan continued, going on to call Hamas a "genocidal terrorist organisation that purposely places its terror machine in civilian areas, including in buildings being used by international media outlets." The diplomat added that Israel was "willing to assist" AP in rebuilding its Gaza offices.

Comment: If Hamas had and used a jamming device, hundreds of men, women and children might still be alive. The death toll and destruction for Palestine indicates they didn't.

A serious country would jail Anthony Fauci

A. Fauci
© Joe Gromelski/Stars and StripesNational Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Tony Fauci
As the indispensable Julie Kelly already observed, nobody will be held accountable for America's intentionally politicized response to COVID-19.

Anthony Fauci certainly won't be punished, even though we now know what we suspected all along: he knew masks were largely ineffective; that lockdowns were unscientific; that asymptomatic spread, the impetus for those lockdowns, did not exist; that the virus was not bat-borne in a Wuhan wet market; and that it was instead quite possibly manufactured in a Chinese lab.

But you wouldn't know any of those things if you've been following The Science™ as broadcasted by Fauci across swooning cable news networks for 15 months. In fact, you would believe the exact opposite, because the exact opposite is what the smarmy old man has been preaching to his Branch Covidian disciples, whom he ruled over with impunity for the duration of the pandemic.

Other than those minor details, Fauci told the truth about everything.

A serious country would jail Anthony Fauci. It wouldn't even be a question. A majority of the population would find it inexcusable to lie to the public so brazenly, and he would be expelled from polite society.

In order to make sure nothing nearly as catastrophic ever happened again, a serious country's top law enforcement entity would bust through his front door in a pre-dawn raid, shackle him, and transport him to a solitary confinement cell where he would await trial. In other words, a serious country would give Fauci the same treatment it's currently giving the Americans who took a self-guided tour of the Capitol Building on January 6.

As for practicing medicine ever again? That wouldn't even be a consideration.

Another high-ranking Capitol Police official 'resigns' amid January 6th riots fallout

badge/patch Capitol police

A high-ranking Capitol Police official has resigned ahead of an impending report that is likely to scapegoat officers for security failures running up to the January 6th riots.

The Capitol Police official's resignation is yet another domino to fall in the aftermath of the Capitol Riots. The first domino was set off by former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund stepping down, followed by the House and Senate sergeant-at-arms. Politico reported on the resignation on Monday:

Chad Thomas, the No. 2 Capitol Police official overseeing most of its uniformed officers, resigned from his position Monday as the department attempts to chart a path forward after the Jan. 6 insurrection, according to congressional and Capitol Police sources. His departure comes as watchdogs urge the department to shift its posture from that of a police force to more of an intelligence-gathering and protective agency for members of Congress and as rank-and-file officers express frustration with current leadership. Thomas had served as assistant chief of police for uniformed operations since 2019. A memo obtained by Politico stated that he was "separating from the Department," and it thanked him for his service.

The Capitol Police is an outfit "shrouded in secrecy," as it is beholden and accountable to the U.S. Congress. That is what shields the police unit from subpoenaes over its behavior, such as the armed security officer who appeared to shoot and kill Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt on January 6th.

While the Capitol Police resignations have come one after another following video evidence that protesters were simply let into the Capitol building, the person in charge of the House of Representatives' security is ultimately Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Roll Call reported in 2020:
"Congress is not subject to the law, and the Capitol Police, as a component of the legislative branch, is also exempt from any FOIA request."

Months BEFORE the Capitol riots, FBI was violating the Constitution to track 'far-right extremists'

The Federal Bureau of Investigation knowingly violated the Constitution to track down potential 'racially motivated violent extremists.' But the FBI didn't conduct its unconstitutional dragnet following the January 6th Capitol riots, it actually started its probe in November — in the midst of a contested election.

A newly declassified report (pdf) shows that the FBI pursued extremists in November that would fit the profile of future Capitol rioters by tapping into a National Security Agency database that trawls and records Americans' communications.

"The FBI's requests for access to masses of electronic communications harvested by the National Security Agency (NSA) is revealed in a newly declassified report from the United States' secret surveillance court," the Daily Mail reported on Monday.

Ringer? Fake journalist Maria Fernanda Reyes claims to be from Univision, tells Kamala Harris: 'I voted for you'

kamala mexico press conference

A woman claiming to be a journalist for Univision gushed over Vice President Kamala Harris at a televised press conference in Mexico City on Tuesday, telling Ms. Harris, "I voted for you."

The statement raised eyebrows, but there was an even deeper problem: Univision says Maria Fernanda Reyes, who asked the question and was introduced as "Maria Fernanda," doesn't work for them. There is a Maria Fernanda Lopez who does.

Vice President Kamala Harris' first foreign trip - to Guatemala and Mexico - has left White House officials with little to be happy about, a new report suggests.

CNN's Jeremy Diamond, who accompanied Harris on her recent trip, reported on Wednesday morning that multiple White House "insiders" were left "perplexed" by Harris' performance overseas.

Diamond added that Harris' own team has expressed "frustration" over their boss and the vice president's answer to certain questions have "overshadowed" whatever successes she actually had on her trip.
