The privacy invasion was vast when FBI agents drilled and pried their way into 1,400 safe-deposit boxes at the U.S. Private Vaults store in Beverly Hills.

They rummaged through personal belongings of a jazz saxophone player, an interior designer, a retired doctor, a flooring contractor, two Century City lawyers and hundreds of others.

Agents took photos and videos of pay stubs, password lists, credit cards, a prenuptial agreement, immigration and vaccination records, bank statements, heirlooms and a will, court records show. In one box, agents found cremated human remains.

Eighteen months later, newly unsealed court documents show that the FBI and U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles got their warrant for that raid by misleading the judge who approved it.

FBI's Matt Gaetz operation silenced an effective GOP voice

Rep. Matt Gaetz

Gaetz was a highly effective member of Congress. Then all that changed with the publication of an anonymously sourced report accusing him of possibly being a child sex trafficker.

Prior to March 2021, Rep. Matt Gaetz was known for prominently pushing against Beltway groupthink.

The colorful Florida congressman had been one of the few Republicans to help win the public relations battle against the Russia collusion hoax, the conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump had stolen the 2016 election by colluding with Russia.

When Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., held secret hearings, selectively released information, and lied about coordination with the so-called whistleblower during the Ukraine impeachment hearings, Gaetz led a group of Republican congressmen in protest. The move, which enraged the corporate media and other partisans, helped unify Republicans in their eventual defeat of the impeachment stunt.

Feel like we're on the ragged edge of something new and awful? You are not alone....

That "singularity" so many blab about is not what they think it is: the merging of human intelligence with Bill Gates's Office products, leading to an orgasmic nirvana of infinite memoranda from your HR department concerning new diversity, inclusion, and equity policy. Rather, I speak of the magic moment when the necromancers of finance discover that the proverbial can they've been kicking is filled with Schrödinger's cat food... and the road they've been kicking it down actually comes to a dead end up their own highly-credentialed wazoos. Economics will never be the same hereafter.

The bond market has gone south, and that spells The End for the great game of financialization. The bond market is Moby Dick compared to the little blowfish that is the stock market. The global money system is based on bonds, which are... what? That's right: loans... promises to pay you X at some future moment. So, what happens when a daisy-chain of promises-to-pay gets broken? Or, perhaps more precisely, when all those promises lose their last shred of plausible reality? Why, the money that these broken promises are denominated in loses its essential cred. Trick question: how much is worthless money worth? (Answer: not enough to pay for a can of Schrödinger's cat food.)

Kiev's NATO-backed terrorist attack in Kherson was a strike against democracy and journalism

hotel bombing
© RTThe aftermath of a bombing raid on a hotel targeted by Kiev in Kherson, Ukraine
No number of missiles will succeed in stopping the exercise of the locals' democratic rights as enshrined in the UN Charter nor in deterring world-class Russian journalists from reporting on this historic event.

Kiev bombarded a hotel in the former Ukrainian city of Kherson with missiles on Sunday morning in what local authorities described as a NATO-backed preplanned terrorist attack. A former Rada official who'd since broken ranks with the US-installed fascist regime was killed as was another person, while two RT journalists who were covering that polity's ongoing referendum on joining Russia miraculously escaped unharmed. Considering the targets and the political context in which this civilian site was attacked, it can be said that it was meant as a strike against democracy and journalism.

Regarding the first, Kiev and its NATO patrons want to intimidate the locals from exercising their political right to self-determination that's enshrined in the UN Charter. They're not content with just attempting to discredit this process in the eyes of the Golden Billion's citizens, but have decided to escalate by carrying out a preplanned terrorist attack to punish anyone who wants to participate in it. Regarding the second target of this strike, there's no doubt that Kiev knew that RT journalists were lodging at that hotel, which means that it wanted to kill members of the press for reporting on the referendum.

From respect to resentment: My history with the CIA

CIA floor logo
© Larry Downing / Reuters
The US Central Intelligence Agency recently turned 75. I have my reasons to wish it doesn't see another birthday

My initial introduction to the CIA was through the medium of film and literature. The spy versus spy mystique was alluringly romantic, with a definite 'good versus evil' vibe. I grew up, after all, during the Cold War, where the 'red menace' permeated every fiber of American popular culture.

I opted to serve my country in the military, and not as a spy, receiving a commission in the Marine Corps in 1984 as an intelligence officer. My specialty was combat, not espionage, and it seemed that my path and that of the premier American intelligence agency were never to cross.

Best of the Web: Meloni's right-wing alliance wins clear majority in Italian elections

Meloni
First Sweden, now Italy.

Europe's unelected authoritarian ruler, Ursula von der Leyen, is not going to be happy: according to early exit polls out of Italy's national election, the right-wing bloc of Giorgia Meloni - which the ultra-left wing press just can't stop comparing to Mussolini - is set for a historic, if largely expected, victory and a clear majority (if, however, not a super-majority) which will propel Meloni to the top of the Italian government as the country's next prime minister, ushering in a historic right-wing shift for a country that - like Sweden until two weeks ago - has traditionally been very left-wing.

Meloni's Brothers of Italy party, which won just 4% of the vote during the last national election in 2018, won the biggest share of the vote in Sunday's parliamentary elections with around 22.5%-26.5% of the vote according to an exit poll released by Italian national broadcaster Rai. She is now set to become prime minister but would require approval from junior partners in her coalition to assume the role.

US Psy-Ops exposed: Washington isn't concerned about morals, it's worried about getting caught

pentagon

A bombshell Washington Post investigation has revealed that the Pentagon is conducting a "sweeping audit of how it conducts clandestine information warfare," after a variety of social media accounts, which its operatives used to target foreign audiences in elaborate psychological warfare efforts, were exposed.

The accounts violated platform rules and were eventually busted by researchers and the social networks they weaponized.

US defense policy advisor Colin Kahl is reported to have demanded that every Pentagon division engaged in "psychological operations online" provides a full account of their activities by October, due to high-level concerns that "attempted manipulation of audiences overseas" by the Department of Defense have significantly overstepped the mark.

Key congressman says Hunter Biden was 'operative for foreign influence,' belongs in jail

hunter biden
California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa alleges "free pass" for president's son on tax evasion, signals GOP probe of undisclosed lobbying for foreign clients.

Alleging that Hunter Biden "clearly" acted as "an operative for foreign influence" who failed to disclose foreign earnings and clients, an influential congressman is questioning why it has taken four years to decide whether to prosecute President Joe Biden's son.

"It's surprising that he didn't go to jail," California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa said Monday on the "Just the News, Not Noise" TV show.

Comment: If the Republicans do as well in the next election as they're anticipated to, there may be a very real reckoning ahead for Hunter and all those who were helping to keep him from being prosecuted. Then again, maybe not. It seems rare that these types have to pay for their crimes.

'Green' energy is a Scam. It isn't MEANT to work.

Scammers
© Corbett Report/Substack
Good news, everybody! A new report from the eggheads at Oxford University assures us that switching to renewables will actually save us trillions of dollars!

You heard that right. It won't cost us trillions of dollars to build out a completely new global energy grid infrastructure based on technology that is still under development and then to switch the entire global economy onto it. No, don't be silly! It's going to save us trillions of dollars. TRILLIONS, I tell you!

Now, I know what some of you skeptical Corbett Reporteers out there are thinking: how can that be? After all, as The Manhattan Contrarian blog points out in a recent post on the "Cost of the Green Energy Transition," the disruption to the European gas supply caused by the Ukraine kerfuffle is already wreaking havoc on Europe's economy, with Germans bracing for a 13% rise in their regulated consumer gas bills this year and UK residents facing a near tripling of their own energy bills. And that's before the Great Resetters start shutting off the pipes for real and forcing the hoi polloi on to the wind/solar/unicorn fart "green" energy grid.

But why believe the actual economic pain you're experiencing (heating your own home this winter) when your Oxfordian overlords have big, fat reports (that no one will read) telling you how much money will be saved by switching over to a green energy grid? After all, the BBC and MSN and Nature World News are tripping all over themselves to repeat these findings unquestioningly, so who are you to bring up any of the pesky "facts" that contradict this comforting fairy tale?

Oh, OK, I'll drop the act. The latest Oxford study — along with the many similar pronouncements made in recent years that the transition onto the green energy grid will be painless (or even profitable) — is easily debunkable propaganda. But it is pernicious propaganda. It's designed to get the plebes to actively embrace their own enslavement in the name of saving Mother Earth, and — up to this point — it has been remarkably effective in that goal.

In truth, the green energy sustainable enslavement grid is a scam from top to bottom. But it is not simply a pie-in-the-sky pipe dream being sold to a gullible and ignorant public. It's worse than that. It is a carefully crafted lie that is designed to lead us into our new role as serfs on the neofeudal plantation in the coming green dystopia.

UK to increase defence spending £52bn in response to 'Russian aggression'

Ben Wallace
© Victoria Jones/PADefence Secretary Ben Wallace (right) says the military will benefit from increased spending
Britain will increase the size of its armed forces spending by at least £52 billion in response to Russian aggression, the Defence Secretary has pledged. In his first interview since Liz Truss entered No 10, Ben Wallace confirmed that the new Prime Minister is sticking to her campaign promise of increasing defence spending by 3%.

Mr Wallace told The Sunday Telegraph that the military is "actually going to grow" as a result of the spending increase which he said has come after decades of "defending against cuts or reconciling cuts with modern fighting". He added the pledge amounted to an annual defence budget of about £100 billion by 2030 - an increase of £52 billion on the current sum which the Defence Secretary called "huge".
