Border interrogation: Reza Aslan says Israel is 'becoming a full-blown police state'

Yesterday Peter Beinart, the liberal Zionist writer, disclosed that he had been detained at Ben Gurion airport on August 12 for an hour of questioning of his political opinions/activities. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu promptly released an unprecedented statement saying the detention had been a mistake, and Beinart said he would accept Netanyahu's apology only if he apologized to Palestinians who are subjected to far worse. Many Zionists have responded angrily to the news by saying that the country is damaging itself in the eyes of the world by harassing left-leaning Jews who want to visit. And the Israeli attorney general says she is looking into the detention incidents.

Today Reza Aslan, the bestselling writer on religion who was born in Iran and lives in LA, was moved by Beinart's experience to tell his own story on twitter:

Peter's experience has spurred me to share mine. 2 weeks ago, as I was crossing back into Israel from Jordan, I was separated from my family and detained by Shin Bet. "We can make it so you don't see your kids for a long time" I was warned. This is what happened next.

The Shin Bet lady, who already knew everything about me and my family's journey around the world, began with "You think because you're a public person I can't do whatever I want with you?" I was floored. This is how interrogations begin in police states.

Taliban 'stronger than ever' after taking significant control of strategic Afghan city

Around 100 Afghan troops were killed in fighting with Taliban for the strategic city of Ghazni. The group is now at its strongest since 2001 and the US 'war on terror' has failed, geopolitical analyst Ali Rizk told RT.

For the last four days, the Taliban has been clashing with government forces for control of Ghazni Province and its main city, which is located just 150km from Afghanistan's capital, Kabul.

Despite the Afghan troops being supported by US airstrikes and ground forces, events on the battlefield have not gone in their favor. By Monday, the Taliban already had most of the city in its grasp, with the military only holding government buildings and police headquarters, which have been under constant attack, according to an Afghan general.

How feminists ruin the lives and the futures of boys

family unit
The amount of damage that modern day social justice warriors and feminists are causing today is astonishing. It shouldn't surprise any of us to see the kind of damage that these people would cause in the modern world. There was an article in the New York Times not too long ago called "What Feminists Can Do For Boys." I will tell any of you who have not wasted your time reading the New York Times article the words of feminists author Jessica Valenti are barely worthy of lining your bird cage with. Right underneath her name on the New York Times article you can see that she is the author of six books on feminism. Seeing that she has written six books on the topic of feminism and I never know when I'll need some extra toilet paper they might be a good investment, or perhaps I'll just pull out a hundred dollar bill and use a match to light it on fire.

I can only hope that not all feminists are as bad as the writer of the article, because if they are then someone really needs to encourage them to stop and think before they speak. In her article she tries to present the argument that feminists can help boys become good men, but lets be completely honest. Feminism is the cause of a lot of the problems that men have to deal with today. Feminists don't want to help boys become men. They want to dilute and weaken the next generation of men so that they can completely send everything that is considered traditional masculinity into a state of extinction. A large number of the modern feminists have declare war on men as much as social justice warriors have declared war on the statues and everything else that represents white history and culture.

Comment: The facts on radical feminism are now piercing through the politically correct reality bubble that has long ruined the lives of many, and continues to do so:

Horrifying: UN report details rampant rape of children by high-level UN employees

UN rape
A deeply disturbing report by the United Nations details rampant sexual exploitation of children by UN officials across the globe.

A deeply disturbing report has finally been released by the United Nations detailing the rampant sexual exploitation of children by UN employees that is widespread, throughout multiple countries.

While pieces of the report were released previously, the full report, detailing the scope and horrifying nature of the abuse was only just released in July.

As Disobedient Media points out in a scathing report,
The publication of a summary version of the report caused a global furor in 2002, eventually leading to some policy changes. However, these efforts have proven woefully insufficient in light of ongoing scandals, including but not limited to the recent Oxfam debacle, the Zoe's Ark scandal, allegations of horrific sexual abuse in the Central African Republic by UN forces, and the Laura Silsby incident. All of these cases (and many others) occurred after the partial publication of the UNHCR report, pointing to one unsavory conclusion:

Aid work is not a vehicle of charity, but is, in a very real sense, a cover for atrocity. It is a weapon, a blunt instrument of power that is wielded to exploit the most vulnerable populations in crisis around the world. We can now state that sentiment as fact, not opinion.

Brexit fallout? A united Ireland may not be as far off as you think

Britain's haphazard attempt at withdrawal from the European Union has reopened the debate on the prospect of a united Ireland - and despite loud protests from some quarters, the cat can't be put back in the bag.

The prospect of a 'hard' Brexit is nowhere more feared than it is on the island of Ireland. The signing of the Good Friday Agreement (GFA) in 1998 put an official end to 30 years of sectarian conflict in the north-eastern corner of Ireland and brought a fragile peace to a statelet that had been founded - and sustained for decades - on a crude sectarian headcount.

Included in the GFA was a mechanism whereby a united Ireland could be achieved at some point in the future, through separate border polls in the north and south, if at any time it appeared the appetite was there for reunification.

Two letters containing white powder were sent to the American and Israeli embassies in Berlin last month, German authorities say. Police are investigating the incidents.

The Israeli embassy received the first letter on July 24, while a second letter was sent to the US embassy two days later, a police spokesperson told AP. Neither embassy has commented on the incidents, but German police have already identified at least one suspect.

Saudi Arabia and Iran reignite the oil price war ahead of the imposition of US sanctions

The rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran is becoming increasingly evident in the oil pricing policies of the two large Middle Eastern producers. The two countries are currently reigniting the market share and pricing war ahead of the returning U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil.

Saudi Arabia, OPEC's largest producer, has been boosting oil production to offset supply disruptions elsewhere, including the anticipated loss of Iranian oil supply after U.S. sanctions on Tehran return in early November. The Saudis are also cutting their prices to the prized Asian market to lure more customers as they increase supply.

Iran, OPEC's third-largest producer, is trying to convince its oil customers to continue buying Iranian oil despite stringent U.S. efforts to curb Iranian production.

BBC team goes undercover as wealthy child-killers in Malawi, almost gets lynched by angry mob

A BBC film crew investigating a string of child killings in the southern African state of Malawi narrowly escaped death, after an undercover meeting with a witch-doctor was interrupted by a mob accusing them of being "vampires".

The documentary team from BBC Africa were working alongside undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who never shows his face, to investigate a string of murders which have been attributed to black-magic "muti" witch-doctors.

Victims have been found without heads and missing body parts. Witch-doctors are suspected of snatching children and young people and using their body parts as get-rich amulets for wealthy clients.

Comment: What did they expect? If you present yourself as a 'wealthy vampire' and meet with a self-confessed killer, that is likely to cause some issues around town. Not the brightest plan considering Malawi's 'blood-sucking vampire scare'. Aside from that, it's easy to mistake BBC journalists as vampires even when they're not undercover.

White supremacists and their Antifa brethren stage protests in DC

Crowds of anti-nationalist protesters have gathered to protest the Unite the Right rally one year after the Charlottesville clashes. The police presence has been increased to avoid clashes in the center of the US capital.

Counter-protesters have gathered across from the White House in Lafayette Park in Washington DC to oppose a white nationalist rally that has been approved to take place in the US capital on Sunday afternoon. Many demonstrators were seen carrying signs stating "shut down white supremacy" and chanting "No KKK, no fascist USA!" "We will be here until these fascist forces are gone, however long that takes," a protester told AP.

Comment: This demonstration and counter-demonstration sums up pretty well the situation in the United States. You have a minuscule number of inconsequential zealots who have triggered thousands upon thousands of SJW's into a frenzy, screaming in unison about how threatened and victimized they feel. They are like the elephant that goes berserk over the creeping mouse.
