CRT in action: Bill Burr's black wife is a 'minority sex servant'? Woke activist called out for 'worst tweet ever'

Comedian Bill Burr has angered the cancel crowd with offensive jokes. They're calling him racist, but the fact that he's married to a black woman isn't placating them. To one, it actually means he owns a "minority sex servant."

Burr hosted last weekend's Grammy Awards, and his jokes rubbed woke viewers up the wrong way. He jibed at feminists, mispronounced Latino names, and (imagine the horror) made fun of K-pop.

A torrent of outrage followed, with some commenters threatening Burr with violence and death. Amid the uproar, one Twitter user stepped in to defend Burr from the racism accusations, posting a picture of the comedian and his black wife, actress Nia Renee Hill.

Confronted with Burr's interracial marriage, the outrage mob simply moved the goalposts. Nill was called a "coon" for marrying Burr, who was called a "white supremacist" and a "slave owner." But one of the most outrageous comments came from author and failed politician Clayburn Griffin.

Comment: Critical race theory is racist. And sexist. It turns its adherents into raving nutjobs. That's what pseudo-reality will do to you.

SOTT Focus: The Madness of Zero Covid

covid mural virus
Some days Scotland is aiming for a 'Zero Covid' strategy. Some days it's aiming to 'eliminate' the virus SARS-CoV-2.

And some days, it seems we have no plan at all.

Professor Devi Sridhar, a most trusted adviser to the Scottish Government, openly muses about 'Zero Covid', qualifying what she means in various ways. Recently she wrote that when she said we should strive for 'Zero Covid', she meant 'endemic virus'. These are not the same things.

On the 10th March, Nicola Sturgeon stated in Parliament that we must 'eliminate' Covid. Someone needs to challenge her to define 'eliminate'.

The first rule of the management of any project is: determine and define your aim. When the project might destroy all the economic and social structures of your nation, establishing a clear aim seems an important place to start.

Until 2020/21, 'endemic' status of viruses has always come about with time and gathering high enough levels of community immunity through exposure.

Comment: 'Zero Covid' is official government policy in Ireland too. It's unscientific, it's destructive, and it's being sold to politicians by people with highly disturbing psychological profiles:

Cuomo staffers have stopped showing up to work as scandals mount

Disillusioned staffers are abandoning embattled Gov. Cuomo, sources said.

One well-placed insider in touch with staffers in recent days, said:
"I hear that most people aren't even coming into work, and the offices at the Capitol are empty. He'll fight and fight and fight, but the staffers I've talked to are ready for him to hang up the gloves. Everyone feels like there is an inevitable conclusion — I mean at some point will Biden call on him to step down? They [staffers] just want this torture to stop."
Rebellion in the ranks deepened as Cuomo on Friday defiantly refused to step aside and blamed "cancel culture" for his downfall.

"I feel a level of rage toward this fake tough guy," seethed a second source, an ex-aide.
"The guy thinks he's the toughest, the hardest working, he's the smartest. The truth is, he's anything but. He's the weakest, he's the dumbest, and he's the most shallow of them all. He is genuinely a very small man who pretends to be big."

Vatican says Catholic Church, its priests cannot bless same-sex unions

Pope Francis leads Angelus prayer from his window at the Vatican
The Catholic Church and its priests cannot bless same-sex unions, the Vatican said Monday.

The Vatican's announcement, through its Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, was an official response to the question on the blessing of same-sex unions.

"The blessing of homosexual unions cannot be considered licit," according to the statement, obtained by USA Today.

The statement also reads: "There are absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God's plan for marriage and family."

Comment: If people don't like the Catholic Church's unsurprising position on gay union, the solution is pretty simple: find a system you prefer. The liberal perspective of forcing its ideology onto everything else is a far greater system of control than the Catholic Church. The Vatican has their own demons to contend with but that is between them and their followers.

The Grammy Awards saw its ratings take a nosedive by more than 50 percent on Sunday, signaling the likelihood of another ratings fiasco for the recording industry's biggest night, according to an early numbers report.

While the CBS telecast hosted by Trevor Noah featured pop stars galore, the broadcast took an unmistakably left-wing political turn, with sympathetic references to the Black Lives Matter protests and riots of last year as well as a a major win for the song "I Can't Breathe," inspired by the death of George Floyd.

Deadline reported that the Grammys pulled in 7.9 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults age 18 to 49 in early ratings. Viewership reportedly fell 60 percent among 18 to 49-year-olds, compared to last year's show. Overall viewership was down 52 percent from last year.

Los Angeles restaurants have been given the green light to resume indoor dining Monday. But one restaurant has been given a notice that its power would be shut off. Why? Because the owner kept the lights on during the pandemic to survive.

A Los Angeles County judge on Friday authorized the City of Burbank to cut off electricity to a restaurant that has stayed open in defiance of a court order issued earlier in the week.

The Los Angeles Superior Court issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against Tin Horn Flats on Monday, March 8, requiring that the restaurant close and not open without a County Health Permit and a City Conditional Use Permit, the City of Burbank said in a statement.

Best of the Web: Covid cases plummet WITHOUT lockdown or mass vaccination program in South Africa

It has been a matter of weeks since South Africa was on the verge of a disaster.

Experts had predicted chaos as a new variant of the coronavirus tore through the country of 60 million people at the start of the year, and doctors were bracing for the worst.

The strain — which appeared to be reinfecting people who had recovered from a previous bout of COVID-19 and raised serious questions about an impending vaccination rollout — was infecting nearly 22,000 people a day by the middle of January.

Migrants stuck at Mexico border thought they'd get easier entry: 'Biden promised us!'

outdoor processing texas
Fox News has exclusively obtained two photos showing a U.S. Border Patrol temporary outdoor processing site in Mission, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Authorities cite a public health order to turn back at least 70% of migrants.

Mexico continues to struggle with the sharply rising number of migrants turned away at the U.S. southern border, with many claiming they were "promised" by President Biden that they could enter the country.

The increased focus on the border situation has brought journalists to Texas, where the problem is most severe: Migrant camps litter the border, with camps of dozens or hundreds of people who are either waiting to enter the U.S. or were just turned back.

New York Times reporters witnessed a number of incidents where migrants were turned away from the border. Most were in tears, with some saying, "Biden promised us!" as they returned to Mexico.

Lawmakers press Biden admin. to explain why COVID positive migrants were transferred into US

Members of Congress from North Carolina are pressing the Biden Administration for answers regarding COVID positive migrants who were transferred from the border into Texas and North Carolina during the pandemic.

According to recent media reports, a significant portion of the COVID positive asylum seekers were transferred into the interior of the U.S. from Mexico due to President Biden's repeal of former President Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy, which required asylum seekers to stay inside of Mexico while awaiting their immigration court hearings. About 25,000 migrants are expected to be transferred in phases as a result of Biden's executive order ending the "Remain in Mexico" policy.

The other migrants had been transferred into the U.S. to await their hearings after they were apprehended crossing into the U.S. at the U.S.-Mexico border.

"The recent surge of migrants can be directly attributed to the Biden Administration's recent decisions to halt the Migrant Protection Protocols program, suspend border wall system construction, weaken immigration enforcement, and implement 'catch and release' at the border," the lawmakers wrote in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Thursday. "These divisive policies rolled back President Trump's successful efforts to control our border. Simply put, these policies are reckless and are putting our constituents in danger."

The Republican lawmakers said there has been "no explanation to justify" releasing COVID-positive migrants into U.S. communities during the pandemic.

"This Administration's border security policies are creating devastating consequences that will set us back in the fight against COVID-19. Caseloads in North Carolina have fallen steadily since the new year, and the positivity rate recently fell to 5.8% - the lowest level since October 2020," the letter read.

"Our state is in a strong position to get our people back to work and end lockdown policies that harm families. Unfortunately, the Administration's decision to send COVID-positive illegal immigrants into North Carolina puts our state's recovery at risk and violates President Biden's pledge to beat the virus. Our constituents deserve to be put first, not last," the lawmakers wrote.

The letter was signed by N.C. Republican lawmakers including Dan Bishop, Richard Hudson, Virginia Foxx, Patrick McHenry, David Rouzer, Ted Budd, Greg Murphy and Madison Cawthorn.

AP reports that Republicans have seized on Cuomo harassment allegations 'to try to distract from Biden's success'

Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand
Two Democratic senators, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, have called on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign amid a number of sexual harassment allegations (but not because of his attempt to hide COVID-19 deaths from the feds). The Associated Press, though, had to find some balance to their piece on Cuomo, and thus added that Republicans have seized on the harassment scandal.

Government's decision making lacks transparency, commons committee finds

lockdown sign
The House of Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Select Committee has released a damning report highlighting the lack of transparency from the Government on key policy decisions relating to lockdowns. Jade Eloise Norris, a Clinical Trial Senior Research Associate at Bristol University, has written a handy thread on the key points from the report.

The report expresses particular dismay at the unwillingness of Ministers to come before the Committee and justify key decisions made over the last year.
