Ukraine used cluster munitions against civilians - Human Rights Watch

Kiev targeted the population of Russian-held Izyum with the controversial projectiles...

The Ukrainian military used cluster munitions to shell the city of Izyum and caused civilian deaths, Human Rights Watch said on Tuesday. The attack happened months before the US provided Kiev with additional cluster shells, overruling the objections of many NATO members.

HRW's Mary Wareham told RIA Novosti:
"We figured this out after the Russians left and our investigators went there to look into the war crimes and atrocities that were committed - and they saw remnants of cluster munitions everywhere. After finding out the direction from which the fire came, they established that they had been used by Ukrainian forces."
The 110-page Cluster Munition Monitor 2022 report, published by HRW this week, lists deployments of such weapons by both sides in the conflict. It notes that the group had first reported on the attack on Izyum in July, but that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry officially denied ever using such munitions in or around the settlement.

'Nuclear' Fukushima water is toxic, but not the way you think

Damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant • July 5, 2023
Politicization and misinformation swirl around the issue, but the real discussion is about how much risk is acceptable for progress...

On August 24, the discharge of radioactive water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the Pacific Ocean began and there has been a metric ton of self-referential misinformation spread online that plays on people's inability to read dense scientific reports and their fear of the nuclear industry.

While most of the people with strong opinions on the matter essentially have one argument, that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is party to a Japanese government conspiracy, and cannot be reasoned with as such, perhaps some folks may benefit from some good-faith discussion.

For starters, it should be noted that the contents of the water being discharged are virtually the same as regular nuclear wastewater. This fact has been muddled and people are sharing a crude MS Paint diagram to show the difference between normal nuclear waste water and contaminated water from Fukushima. What this diagram misses primarily is that the water is not going as-is directly into the ocean but instead being treated through a process called Advanced Liquid Processing System (ALPS) and diluted thereafter.

Without getting into the specifics, ALPS essentially helps to take out the heavier radioactive elements from the water after treatment and pure seawater dilution. That process was largely successful but mostly left tritium, which could not be removed via ALPS and needs further dilution. Many people are upset that the current testing is only looking for tritium. They claim that the IAEA should be looking for more. The reason the IAEA is not is because the ALPS process was already verified as successful.

Total victory over genocide-promoting Kiev only possible outcome of special op - Medvedev

Medvedev
The politician recounted that the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine said that it "has not found sufficient evidence that the actions of the Russian military in the country should be qualified as genocide".
The special military operation (SMO) should continue until its goals have been achieved and those responsible for the eight years of genocide in Donbass have been duly punished, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.

Medvedev stressed that that those responsible for the murder of civilians in Donbass will be deservedly punished for everything they have done.

"That is precisely why the special military operation should go on until the full implementation of its goals. Until the final victory over those who for eight years humiliated and exterminated their own people," Medvedev wrote.

He recounted that the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine said that it "has not found sufficient evidence that the actions of the Russian military in the country should be qualified as genocide."

Comment: More straight talking from Medvedev: In collaboration with the Western establishment, the Kiev junta is presiding over some of the most sinister criminality possible; even against Ukrainians themselves:

"It definitely wasn't Barack's first time": Obama's crack-fueled gay tryst accuser talks to Tucker

Obama Michelle
Ever since Barack Obama biographer David Garrow revealed that the former president told an ex-girlfriend that he "repeatedly fantasizes about making love to men," the internet has been abuzz over Obama's sexual orientation - and whether Michelle Obama is actually a dude.

In his latest interview on X, Tucker Carlson sat down with Larry Sinclair, the man who for 25 years has maintained that he and former President Barack Obama engaged in drug-fueled sex acts, once in the back of a limo and another in a hotel room in Gurnee, Illinois.

Of note, Sinclair has a long rap sheet - including convictions on forgery, fraud and larceny charges. He's served prison time in Arizona, Colorado and Florida - a history which has been widely used to discredit Sinclair's claims which he first made in 2008 when Obama was running for president.

"You're just a guy who's in town for the night and it sounds like you're looking to party?" asked Tucker of the alleged encounter, in which he says a limo driver introduced him to Obama after asking for help finding someone to 'party' with.

"There's this guy that's introduced to me as Barack Obama," Sinclair replied.

US forcing 'fight to last Ukrainian' - Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov made the remark amid media reports that the US is set to unveil another defense aid package for Kiev.

The US is intent on "waging a war to the last Ukrainian," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has claimed following reports that Washington is planning to provide more weapons to Kiev. He insisted that the additional aid would not change the course of the conflict.
"We have many times heard statements that [the US] is going to continue helping Kiev as long as necessary," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
This means Washington will "further keep Ukraine effectively at war and wage this war to the last Ukrainian, sparing no expense," he added.

US' Blinken visits Kiev amidst failing offensive, Zelensky claims coincidental bombing of Donetsk market that killed 17 that same day was Russia

In Kyiv's corridors of power, Blinken's visit attained significance after the head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Aleksey Danilov claimed that a third world war is already underway.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on a day when Russia was accused of attacking a market town in the contested Donetsk region which Russia claims to have taken over from Ukrainian control. Blinken's visit comes during Ukraine's ongoing counteroffensive against Russian forces which has failed to give required dividends.

Comment: Russia bombed a market in a region it controls amidst a war which it is winning the same day the international media have all eyes on Kiev during a visit from a US official? OR, the Kiev junta bombed a market in Russian held territory, populated by Russians, just prior to the visit of the US Sec of State in a sinister bid to elicit sympathy and smear Russia, whilst it demands that American taxpayers pay it billions of dollars more in order to keep its failing proxy war going?

Zelensky claims Russian strike kills at least 17 in east Ukraine market

Zelensky said on social media: "At this moment, the artillery of Russian terrorists has killed 16 people in the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. A regular market. Shops. A pharmacy. People who did nothing wrong. Many wounded. (sic)"

Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmygal posted security camera footage of the strike. In the video, residents can be seen running for cover and sending off car alarms. Officials said that one child was among the dead.

In a post on social media, Ukraine's interior ministry Igor Klymenko said that around 28 were injured.

Kostyantynivka is a frontline town of an estimated 70,000 people in the eastern industrial region of Donetsk, which has been the epicentre of fighting since Russia launched its invasion in February 2022.

Ukraine was bombing the civilians of Donetsk even prior to the conflict.

Donetsk has been partially controlled by Kremlin-backed separatists since 2014 and Russia claimed to have annexed the region alongside three others late last year.

Ukraine's new defence minister

Rustem Umerov, Ukraine's newly appointed defence minister, vowed to recapture all territory under Russian military control, in his first comments in the new role.

Lawmakers had earlier approved Umerov, a Crimean Tatar, as Kyiv's new defence minister after his name was put forward by Zelensky.

"I will do everything possible and impossible for the victory of Ukraine -- when we liberate every centimetre of our country and every one of our people," Umerov said in a post on social media.

"We will return normal and dignified life to Ukrainian cities, which are unfortunately temporarily occupied. We know that people there are waiting for us," he added.

17 people lost their lives to a UKRAINIAN missile in Konstantinovka. Russia had nothing to do with it.

- the missile came from the northwest, which is evidenced by the direction people turn to when it flies in

- everything northwest of Konstantinovka is entirely controlled by Ukraine

- northwest of Konstantinovka is also where Druzhkovka is located, over which locals reported the launch of missiles by Ukrainian aircraft just minutes before the strike

- the area over Druzhkovka, Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka is regularly used by the Ukrainian Air Force to launch missiles towards Donetsk, with the exact trajectory this missile had. They mostly launch old HARM anti-radar missiles donated from expired US stocks, which are known to malfunction and regularly appear unexploded in random locations inside Donetsk Ukrainian aircraft also occasionally launch Storm Shadow missiles, though they're rarer and generally much less prone to malfunctioning. I'm of course extrapolating that the strike at civilians was unintentional, which is sadly not a certainty given Kiev's history of manufacturing and exploiting atrocity propaganda to lubricate military and financial aid from its Western backers. This strike also coincided with an unexpected visit to Ukraine by the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

The 'world majority' now sees the Ukraine conflict as an example of declining European and North American power

Most believe ethnic Europeans are colonialists and hope to end their stranglehold on power

It's now the fall of 2023, and the Ukraine conflict has become an integral part of the international political and economic landscape. A cessation of hostilities is not expected.Meanwhile, neither a decisive victory for one side nor a compromise peace agreement seems likely in the foreseeable future.

The situation remains the most important factor influencing the global balance of power.

When the fighting started, it was immediately clear that relations between Russia and the West were entering an acute phase. But the severity and persistence of the conflict have exceeded expectations. In February 2022, few could have imagined the current level of NATO's military-technical support of Ukraine and such a thorough dismantling of all ties between Russia and the Western countries.

Comment: One of the most interesting clauses a country must agree to if it wishes to become a BRICS member, is to not sanction another member country. On that basis alone, France was sent packing after sniffing around for an invite to the last meeting. It pretty much sinks any hope for a country under the domination of the U.S. to benefit itself by becoming part of the new trade block.

Pentagon is using Artificial Intelligence to police 'narratives' that represent threat to government

pentagon uses AI
The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has enlisted the services of Accrete AI, a New York-based company, to implement a software solution designed for identifying "real-time" disinformation hazards across social media platforms.

"We are at the dawn of an entirely new type of conflict driven by rapid advances in artificial intelligence," the press release announcing the partnership reads. "Whereas nuclear proliferation threatened entire populations, AI proliferation individualizes warfare by manipulating targeted groups through digital means. Using AI, bad actors can propagate disinformation to exploit ignorance and weaken civil society causing billions of dollars of damage to the U.S. economy," commented Prashant Bhuyan, Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Accrete, Inc. "As a prime defense contractor licensing configurable dual-use AI software directly to the DoD, Accrete is in a unique position to scale its business with the Defense, Intelligence, and Special Operations communities, as well as other government and enterprise customers, and bolster national security as well as intelligence competitiveness in previously unimaginable ways."

Accrete AI's Argus anomaly detection AI software meticulously examines data from social media, effectively capturing "emerging narratives," and subsequently produces intelligence reports. These reports empower military units to swiftly counteract disinformation threats.

Doomsday for the Buck? "A reserve currency is no longer needed"

Mike Whitney interviews Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, a renowned author and academic, and chairman of The Institute for Political Economy.

Mike Whitney (MW): To what extent has the war in Ukraine accelerated the move to a new global realignment?

Paul Craig Roberts (PCR): It was Washington's economic sanctions against Russia, the theft of Russia's central bank reserves, and the theft of Venezuela's gold, not the conflict in Ukraine, that weaponized the US dollar and resulted in global realignment.

The limited Russian intervention in Donbas was Putin's belated eight-year-delayed response to the US coup that overthrew the government of Ukraine in 2014 and installed a government hostile to Russia and to the Russian population that had been incorporated into the Ukraine province of the Soviet Union by Soviet leaders. The intervention was forced on Putin by the United States' buildup of a large Ukraine army poised to overthrow the self-declared Donbas republics.

By habit and convenience, the US dollar is used as world money to settle imbalances in international trade, but the sanctions woke the world up to the risks of using the dollar. Consequently, the BRICS suddenly expanded with membership extended to Argentina, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The organization now contains essentially the entirety of world oil production and 40-45% of World GDP.

Clearly, a realignment has already occurred.
