France recalls Italy ambassador after worst verbal criticisms since 1945

France has recalled its ambassador in Rome on Thursday after what it described as baseless and repeated attacks from Italy's political leaders, whom it urged to return to a more friendly stance.

Italy's two deputy prime ministers, Matteo Salvini of the right-wing League and Luigi Di Maio of the populist, anti-establishment 5-Star movement, have in recent months goaded French President Emmanuel Macron on a number of issues.

"France has been, for several months, the target of repeated, baseless attacks and outrageous statements," its foreign ministry said in a statement.

"Having disagreements is one thing, but manipulating the relationship for electoral aims is another," it added, calling Italy's attacks without precedent since World War Two.

Comment: Clearly Di Maio realizes that Macron and his ilk threaten the stability of not only Italy and France, but much of Europe. Who can blame him for politically trolling one of the worst and most destructive leaders of the past few decades. See also:

Taliban and Afghan delegations have 'successful' meeting with Moscow, pledge to meet again soon

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has described the talks as "very satisfactory."
Taliban representatives and an Afghan delegation led by former President Hamid Karzai have said that after two days of negotiations in Russia they aim to continue their "intra-Afghan" dialogue in Qatar "as soon as possible."

Karzai led a delegation of about 40 Afghan politicians -- although without representatives of the current government in Kabul -- at the two-day round of talks in Moscow on February 5-6.

The two sides said in a joint statement quoted by Afghan broadcaster Tolo News that they agreed to meet again in Doha, the capital of Qatar, where the Taliban has a semiofficial office.

The Moscow meeting came as broader peace talks involving the U.S. and Taliban representatives in Doha appear to be gaining momentum.

Comment: Again its Russia that's bringing warring parties and interests to the table to discuss peace. See also:

Flashback Former Shin Bet chief threatens to massacre European children if EU leaders don't do what Israel wants

Protective edge bombing gaza
Israel: "What? We're just cleaning up Gaza's streets."
In a blunt warning to a visiting group of European diplomats over a looming jihadi threat, a former deputy Shin Bet chief on Monday said, "if you do not stand by our side, the day when Islamic terror will reach your homes, your beds and your kindergartens will come soon."

Speaking with Danish, Swedish and Dutch ambassadors to Israel, as well as officials from the embassies of Britain, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Austria and Germany, Knesset Member Israel Hasson (Kadima), pointed out that, "NATO bombed 5,000 civilians in Kosovo just because it was insulted; 27,000 Iraqi civilians were bombed during the American invasion because they posed a danger to the US; there is not a country in the world that can talk to us about morality."

Hasson, speaking at an "urgent meeting" of the Knesset Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Committee on the situation of Jewish communities in Europe, warned that, "If European countries fail to protect their Jews, the State of Israel will. Jewish blood is not cheap blood."

Comment: As opposed to...? Whose blood? The racialism inherent in that statement is breathtaking.

Comment: Sure enough, massive terror attacks struck western Europe from 2015-2017...

Russia exploited 'racist, sexist, anti-Semitic' US to divide people, tweets 'insane' Kamala Harris

A California senator and media-appointed frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic nomination has finally managed to unravel the conundrum of so-called Russian 'interference' in the 2016 election - it's so simple you won't believe it.

Tweeting out her discovery, Kamala Harris explained that Russia was "able to influence" the last presidential election because it "figured out" that "racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, and transphobia are America's Achilles heel."

Armed with this top secret information, Russia was "able" to turn Americans against each other in a way never before seen in history (if you conveniently forget most of history, that is).

Comment: What an absolute moron.

Flashback Australian senator's report reveals prior knowledge of 1996 Port Arthur massacre

port arthur massacre
A senator has refused to comment about allegations he had prior knowledge of the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 when 35 innocent people were killed in a precision shooting operation.

Another 23 men, women and children were wounded by a trained and methodical gunman with long blond hair.

Revelations by Austrian-based author and researcher Keith Noble that Senator Stephen Parry had prior knowledge of the shootings have not been refuted.

Parry at the time was a qualified embalmer and a former member of Tasmania Police who led a team of embalmers which handled the bodies in 1996.

US supports "dictators, butchers and extremists" in the Middle East - Iranian FM

Zarif

The United States supports "dictators, butchers and extremists" in the Middle East, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said in response to US President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech.

"US hostility has led it to support dictators, butchers & extremists, who've only brought ruin to our region," Zarif wrote in a Twitter post on Wednesday.

Trump called Iran "the world's leading state sponsor of terror" during his speech and said his administration had acted decisively to confront it, according to a video of the speech posted on the official White House website.

NLG's statement on the illegal US interference in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

Venez flag
© publicdomainvectors.org
The National Lawyers Guild (NLG) is the oldest human rights bar association in the United States, with members in every state and a mission to value human rights and the rights of ecosystems over property interests. For more than a decade, the NLG International Committee has sent numerous delegations to Venezuela to observe nearly a dozen elections and research the electoral system, including meeting with lawyers and judges, community workers, union members, economists, journalists, government officials and opposition leaders.

The statements of Vice-President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo openly calling for democratically elected President Nicolas Maduro to be removed by a military and popular revolt harken back to the dark days of direct intervention in Latin America and make it clear that the U.S. is currently orchestrating a coup against the elected government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The shocking aggression and illegal interference against a sovereign nation by the Trump administration is a blatant violation of the charters of the United Nations and Organization of American States, which recognize the principles of national sovereignty, peaceful settlement of disputes, and a prohibition on threatening or using force against the territory of another state.

The contempt that this administration has shown for the norms and core values of international law has been apparent from threatening the use of force against other nations, withdrawing from the U.N. Human Rights Council and attempting to discredit U.N. independent experts. However, directly fomenting a coup in a sovereign nation is not only illegal and outright shunned by the international community, it fundamentally undermines any pretextual concern about interference by other nations in U.S. elections.

Comment: Wisely and powerfully said. Anyone in Washington listening? Didn't think so.

'Unlimited presidential harassment': Trump cries foul as Schiff calls for financial investigation

President Trump unloaded on House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff, after Schiff announced a new investigation into the president's finances. The investigation is one of several Democrat-led probes targeting the president.

Schiff announced the investigation on Wednesday, which will focus on "credible reports of money laundering and financial compromise" involving Trump's businesses. The probe will go "beyond Russia" and investigate whether "the Saudis or anyone else" has leverage over Trump, Schiff told reporters.

Russia, of course, will still feature front and center. Under the leadership of Republican Rep. Devin Nunes (California), the committee found no evidence of 'Russian collusion,' but Schiff said on Wednesday that the investigation would continue to look for links between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016. The committee also voted to turn over transcripts of its prior probe to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing Russia investigation.

Trump unloaded on Schiff.
"So now Congressman Adam Schiff announces, after having found zero Russian Collusion, that he is going to be looking at every aspect of my life, both financial and personal, even though there is no reason to be doing so," he tweeted on Thursday. "Never happened before! Unlimited Presidential Harassment."

Comment: The Democrats are locking and loading. The next two years promise an onslaught against Trump. No big surprise in the direction of Schiff's moves:

Outright US bribery: Sanctions relief for officers who flip on Maduro, 'Make the right choice'

MaduroMilitary

After years of a harsh sanctions campaign against Venezuela, the US is offering to loosen the economic noose for those military officers who defect and recognize opposition leader Juan Guaidó as the country's interim president.

Accusing President Nicolas Maduro and his "cronies" of plundering Venezuelan wealth for their own well-being while blocking "humanitarian assistance" to the country, National Security Advisor John Bolton urged the Latin American country's officers to defect.

"The US will consider sanctions off-ramps for any Venezuelan senior military officer that stands for democracy and recognizes the constitutional government of President Juan Guaidó," Bolton said on Twitter. "If not, the international financial circle will be closed off completely. Make the right choice!"

Top ex-WH economist reveals 94% of all new jobs under Obama were part-time

Obama
© Des Moines RegisterFormer President Barrack Obama
Just over six years ago, in December of 2010, we wrote "Charting America's Transformation To A Part-Time Worker Society", in which we predicted - and showed - that in light of the underlying changes resulting from the second great depression, whose full impacts remain masked by trillions in monetary stimulus and soon, perhaps fiscal, America is shifting from a traditional work force, one where the majority of new employment is retained on a full-time basis, to a "gig" economy, where workers are severely disenfranchised, and enjoy far less employment leverage, job stability and perks than their pre-crash peers. It also explains why despite the 4.5% unemployment rate, which the Fed has erroneously assumed is indicative of job market at "capacity", wage growth not only refuses to materialize, but as we showed yesterday, the growth in real disposable personal income was the lowest since 2014.

When we first penned our article, it was dubbed "fringe" tinfoil hattery, or in the latest vernacular, "fake news."

Fast forward 6 years, when a report by Harvard and Princeton economists Lawrence Katz and Alan Krueger, confirms exactly what we warned. In their study, the duo show that from 2005 to 2015, the proportion of Americans workers engaged in what they refer to as "alternative work" soared during the Obama era, from 10.7% in 2005 to 15.8% in 2015. Alternative, or "gig" work is defined as "temporary help agency workers, on-call workers, contract company workers, independent contractors or freelancers", and is generally unsteady, without a fixed paycheck and with virtually no benefits.

Comment: Framing the outcome to resemble progress, when reality proved Obama was using smoke and mirrors to disguise an employment crisis of alarming proportion, was nothing more than a con job. HIs dismal record has made the Trump administration's efforts for job growth and job security look even better.
